Chapter 9 - CHAPTER NINE

BRADFORD'S POV

Imagine who I saw Andrea!!! Like… Joan was the maid who will be working for me. It sounded so absurd. Where had she been all this time? I muttered.

We could not speak for sometime, we were both standing glances. The gatekeeper didn't understand what was going on. He just felt confused and left the both of us.

She broke the silence between us. "Good day to you. I'm the new maid who will be working for you." Hmm well I was actually waiting for her to say something.

I was confused about whether to accept her or not due to some personal reasons. She hates me now. Accepting her to work for me would be because she is left alone in this wicked world.

We behaved as though we didn't know each other. "Good day to you too. I said with a look of scorn on my face."

Joan sensed that I wasn't comfortable with her. Her face gave the question, what might have gone wrong.

"Since you're the new maid that the agency opted for, you will be staying at the boy's quarters." I said.

"Okay sir." She replied

I love the fact that we are formal. "I'm very sure you know your duties as a maid right?" I asked inquisitively to be sure that she knows what her job entails.

"Yes sir, I know my job and I will do my absolute best sir." She replied curtly. I nodded my head at her reply.

"When you are arranging your things in your new room, come over here with immediate effect so that I can show you your ways around these houses." I blurted out with a stern look on my face.

"Okay sir." She said and with a final stare at me, she left for the boy's quarters. How come she didn't ask me where she could locate her new room?

Maybe she would ask the gatekeeper outside. It wasn't upto two minds, she came back asking for the direction to her room.

This lady must be a dummy. This is how she goes about sleeping around from one man to another without a rethink.

"If you don't know your way around here, why did you come or accept to be my maid?" I spat, trying to get on her nerves.

Joan was thrown off balance by my question. I know she wasn't expecting me to act that way towards her. But I had to do it, I would make her quit working for me on her own accord.

"Next time, before you embark on something, ask questions. You don't expect to know what you always have in mind." I said not minding how she feels.

"Ask the gateman to show you the way to the boy's quarter. If you like, seduce him on your way out." I said sarcastically.

Joan looked at me with a look of bewilderment on her face. She couldn't understand where all these were coming from. And if she wants me to keep making her confused, then I would continue.

She walked her way out of the sitting room without a word to me. I was about to go upstairs when I heard my name being called. "Brad Brad, what's up with you?"

I wasn't surprised when I heard the name and the owner of the voice. He fondly calls me by my nickname.

"Man, how are you doing?" I asked him as I went to give him a tight embrace.

"Honestly, I'm doing good." Davis replied, his face beaming with smiles. Guy must have some good news for me given the way he is alive with joy.

"What are you doing here and not in your room?" He asked. He knows that I hardly come downstairs. I'm always in my room working on my laptop.

"The agency called me to inform me that the maid I requested will be with me soon so I should be ready to welcome her." I said.

"A she?" Davis asked, looking at me as if he had seen a ghost.

"Was the person going to be an animal before?" I asked, trying to sound funny. Davis and ladies are literally five and six, and he seems to bring them closer with his looks.

During the last party that we attended, we could not relate well because he was with Joan whom I had eyes on. But then I understood he got the looks and was so carefree. Why won't she relate with him so well?

That was why I had to step in between them before he took Joan away from me. Joan right now is not the person I thought she is.

Back at the hotel, I was thinking she agrees to any man that comes her away but I tried to wave it aside due to the fact I disvirgined her.

But with what I heard about her, coupled with what I saw was enough to drive me crazy. She must have been using vagina tighter to deceive men that she was a virgin before she met them.

And now that Davis is here, I don't know what might go wrong again. "Bro, hope she is good and I pray you find a wife in her. You need to get married soon enough."

We laughed out loud. If only he knew the person that the agency brought as my maid. "You haven't even seen my maid yet and you are talking about marriage. I can't settle for a maid." I blurted.

"But….." Davis was interrupted by Joan's presence. He moved backwards to have a clear vision of her. He was vividly surprised to see her.

"Andrea, it's been ages. How are you doing and where have you been all this while?" Davis asked, feeling so happy to see her.

Joan looked from Davis to me and vice versa before responding, "I'm doing good and surviving at the same time."

"I have no idea that you've been coming around." He said, and faced me. "And you couldn't even tell me she had been paying you some visits."

"Bro, this is her first time coming to my place and she is the new maid I spoke of earlier." I said feigning annoyance.

"You are joking right?" He playfully asked.

"Do I look like a joke to you?" I asked him. "I'm damn serious"

I wondered why Joan wasn't putting on her uniform. Was she here to seduce my friend or what. Very soon, I will show her where she belongs.

"Next time, don't come in here without your uniform on." I said, my voice coming to a rise. Davis shuddered at how I spoke to Joan. He wasn't expecting me to talk to her in that manner.

"Leave here this minute, and go get dressed in your uniform." I authorised.

"What's happening here? I thought you guys get along and why is she your maid?" Davis asked perplexed.

"I guess she applied for house maid duties. The agency interviewed her and sent her here. She just arrived here not quite long." I answered feeling tired of talking about Joan.

"Why talk to her in that manner, hope all is well?" Davis asked again.

"All is well my dear friend." I replied. I knew that my friend was confused about the whole thing and wanted to be clarified. But I couldn't just spit out everything I came to discover.

Some minutes later, Joan came inside having changed to her uniform. "Get me some fruit juice inside the fridge. Make sure you rinse the tumblers."

She brought out the fruit juice and I watched her from where I was as she rinsed the tumblers like I instructed.

Joan went to the dinning and poured some juice into the cup and brought it to us in a tray. I admired her work ethic. She seemed to be conversant with her job.

As she was about to hand the glass of juice to each of us, something annoying happened.
