Chapter 40 - Escape from Academy

Noran and the Academy elders flew close to Fire Fountain Hill. Albert stepped out, along with the early instructors.

They sensed a strong and intense magical thump and explosion sound from the top of the hill.

"What's going on?" asked Albert, stepping near the hilltop gate guard.

"I don't know, High Instructor Albert," said one of the guards, bowing his head.

From the sky, Albert saw Noran and the academy elders coming in droves. Those who lived in the Academy Palace were even aware of the magic fluctuations.

"Strong magic fluctuations are happening at the top of the hill. It's not a natural phenomenon, someone is probably meditating there," Noran replied, firmly.

"What? Did any Iris class students come?" asked Albert to the two guards, they shook their heads.

They didn't see anyone coming to the gate, not even Silk class students, let alone Iris students. Noran squinted, he asked one of the academy elders to perform tracking magic.

[Extra Magic: Trace Magic]

He brought up the magic rune in his hand, then pressed it onto the ground. The circle of magic runes expanded until it reached a hill and glowed white, the tracking of magic traces began.

From the ground, they saw that there was a stream of magic traces coming from one of the Silk class student dormitories.

It was not the Iris class students who came to the top of the hill, but the Silk class students.

Albert and the other instructors saw the trail. They began to trace the trail of magic until they arrived in front of Aiden's dorm room.

"Aiden?" asked Albert.

"What?! Aiden? So, the Silk class student who climbed to the top of the hill was Aiden?" asked Kanna, gasping in shock.

"There is a certain reason why the student named Aiden came to the top of the hill. I can't be sure what kind of magic fluctuations it came from," said Noran, squinting.

"Conduct a full magic tracking throughout the academy. Find and arrest him!" said Noran, the academy elders nodded.

They flew out of Fire Fountain Hill to tell the mage discipline council to find Aiden's whereabouts.

The situation became even more complicated, all the Silk students at Fire Fountain Hill were also affected.

"No one is to leave this place until we make sure it's secure!" declared Noran, obeyed by Albert and the rest of the initial instructors.

Not long after, Noran left the place to return to the Palace Academy. Albert sighed and shook his head, he did not expect one of his students to do such a reckless act.

"What are we going to do?" Kanna asked Albert.

"Watch our students more closely. I want to increase the number of guards in front of the hilltop gate," said Albert.

"No one is allowed to leave this hill, no matter what!" continued Albert, sternly to the initial instructors in front of him.

They obeyed and nodded, assenting to Albert's orders. Kanna was really upset and sad at the same time, Aiden was one of her students, she as an instructor would definitely be dragged into this case.

Elsewhere, Aurora led Aiden away from the hilltop. She occasionally looked back, seeing light beginning to illuminate some parts of the originally dark academy.

"That magical boom must have woken them up. If that happens, Aiden is in a dangerous situation," Aurora replied.

Aurora tried to find the best place for her to recover Aiden's body, but as long as she flew in the northern Academy sky, she found nothing.

As a result, Aurora had no choice but to take Aiden outside the academy. That way, the people of the academy would not know about it.

The woman flew high and tried to get out of the magic academy compound. However, her body bounced when she saw that there was a barrier separating her.

Without thinking, Aurora brought out an ice spear from her hand, the size of the spear enlarged thanks to the accumulation of ice elemental energy from it.

With the successful synchronization of the two magics, Aurora was able to unleash her best abilities —though not fully recovered.

"Destroy!" shouted Aurora.

She shot the ice spear into the Academy's protective wall, a clash of magic ensued and sent energy pulses throughout the academy. Noran sensed it, he hurriedly went over to the location of the magic clash.

BLAST!

Soon, an explosion occurred which caused a hole to be created in the magic wall. Aurora smiled, but she couldn't stay here for long. She saw the magic light of the mages flying towards her.

"I won't let you get close to me!" said Aurora.

She stretched her lithe, white hand forward, bringing up a golf ball-sized ice ball on top of her palm. Aurora released the ice ball gracefully forward.

"Stop!" ordered the academy elder.

When a few academy elders got close to the ice ball, it began to emit a bright blue light and exploded, freezing the surrounding area within an 800-meter radius, the trees and ground also freezing.

"Ice element?" asked Noran.

Aurora smiled, managing to hold them off for a moment. The woman rushed to fly away from the place with Aiden in her arms.

Noran tried to catch up, but his attention was drawn to the few frozen academy elders. As a result, Noran failed to catch up with Aurora.

"Should we go after her?" asked one of the other elders from the mage discipline council.

"No, no. They are beyond the reach of the magic academy, public magic clashes violate mage laws," said Noran, firmly.

"Send tracking teams throughout the city, distribute pamphlets about Aiden, meet his family, find him!" Noran insisted.

"Yes, Master Noran!" asserted the academy elder.

Noran stretched his hand forward, returning to repairing the academy's protective wall damaged by the ice girl. Noran continued to think about the possibility of Aiden's true identity.

From outside the magic academy compound, Aurora led Aiden away from Byrone and into the forest.

There, she saw that there was a cave among the mountain valleys that was suitable for her and suitable for Aiden to recover.

"Those academy guys won't be able to catch up here," Aurora replied.

"I'd better change the situation here, so that no one dares to come!" the woman emphasized.

She placed the injured Aiden inside the cave, then Aurora stepped out and pointed her ice magic at the sky.

The ice magic shattered and exploded, creating snow that fell relentlessly, even though the mountains hadn't seen snow in 100 years.

"This is better," Aurora said.

Just before she took a step toward Aiden, Aurora fell to her knees with a gasp. She had overused her magical abilities, even though she had not fully recovered from the two-magic synchronization.

"I need to recover my body, then help Aiden recover."
