Chapter: 15, the way of a magician. Slight GL.
A month after arriving in the dream realm, Aura looked at the huge crimson trunk of the soul devourer tree.
After a month of their journey in ashen barrow, they somehow reached this massive tree. Now, at this place, there was only one high ground, which is now guarded by a Centurion.
They used the echo sunny received to distract the centurion and getting the opportunity, Aura picked up Cassie in a princess carry and dashed toward the high ground.
When she got near the tree, she used an awakened rank floating spell and reached the upper part of it within no time.
Because Cassie was already safe, both Neph and Sunny didn't wait much and quickly climbed up before the centurion could even reach them.
After that, they made their move and Aura used a basic fire spell to light fire. And the expected deep dweller came, not disappointing them. The centurion and the stray dog, is what sunny caller it later in the series started fighting.
The stray dog dragged the centurion into the dark waters and everything went silent. Sunny and the others finally went to rest their tired body while aura stood guard.
After everyone fell asleep, Aura climbed down and looked at the water where the centurion was dragged into.
She prepared herself and used an air spell to create an air bubble around her and jumped into the water. Using a vision spell, she could see through the dark water, clearly witnessing the many aquatic abominations in the distance.
Right below her, she saw them. The centurion was struggling against the rotten flesh of the stray dog around its hands, tightly holding it and attacking with the other rotten tentacles. Both of them looked pretty exhausted and battered.
Aura used half of the essence from all seven of her cores that Noir gave her before arriving in the dream realm.
The essence flowed through her to the front of her right hand aiming at the two awakened abominations. Within a few moments, a compressed flow of air with water was circling in her palm like a ball of raging tornado.
As the attack was fully prepared, the two abominations noticed something wrong but it was already too late.
'Swish'
With a swish, the ball reached the two of them in the blink of an eye and exploded.
'Boom!'
With a raging boom, the sharp compressed waves produced by the attack cut through both abominations' flesh and armor. Aura was far away from the torrents, so she was fine, occasionally only feeling the shift of the nearby water, which wasn't violent enough to cut through her flesh. Even if it did cut through her, she could regenerate them instantly.
The waves cut through them, ripping them to shreds, even the metal like armor was completely besieged and its skin also shred to pieces.
Soon, the only remaining thing left on the scene were the small pieces of flesh and metal, surrounding water having a shade of crimson and the soul shards. And the spell whispered in her ears

[You have received a Memory…]
[You have received an Echo…]
[You have…]
She used the remaining of her essence to bring the shards towards her and taking them, she headed upwards to leave the dark waters.
As she got out of the waters and reached the shore completely drenched, she saw Nephis, Sunny and Cassie looking at her with worry. "Did the loud sound come from underwater? And why are you coming out of here? You know it was dangerous. Are you okay?" they asked.
Aura decided to plan something personal and quickly fell on her face. The others quickly got close and supported her near the crimson tree. Aura acted out of breath and tired as she spoke "Don't worry, I am fine and the danger is cleared.
"I need a long rest. And these are the shards from those two, divide them among yourselves, they are useless to me anyways."
"What!?" they all wore shocked faces and asked curiously "Did you use your trump card?"
Aura gave them a nod and went ahead to take a rest.
After some time, they divided the shards among Cassie and Nephis. Aura looked at Cassie for a second "Cas, can you stay with me for a while?"
Cassie looked at her, confused, but still agreed. Sunny and Nephis left them alone and went to the opposite side.
As they were sitting there quietly, Aura hugged her by the waist and placed her head on Cassie's lap.
Cassie got flustered and "What are you doing?" she asked, not trying to resist at all.
Aura looked at her, struggling to decide if she should tell her but she did "You know you look very seductive now, don't you?"
"What!?" she shouted flustered with an aggrieved expression.
Aura ignored the shout and continued "If only I wasn't injured, I would have pounced on you right here and now. Maybe, even in front of them. A bad timing for me I guess"
Cassie stayed silent for a long time. What was she doing? Maybe understanding the actual meaning behind her words or contemplating her options? Aura didn't know.
Soon, Cassie broke the silence with a question "Do you think I deserve it with the flaw I have?"
"What are you talking about?" Aura rebuked. "If anything you will be more attractive with this flaw. I don't want to sound rude but your flaw is perfect for a relationship, to get some new excitements…"
Suddenly, Cassie kissed her, their lips touching each other with affection. As their lips parted, aura buried her face on Cassie's lap and said something unbelievable to Cassie
"You might not know, but this is not my main body." Cassie somehow had a doubt but now it was all cleared.
There had to be a reason why her ability from a sacred aspect didn't work on her and for some reason, she felt something strange with herself. It was very difficult to understand but that was the only explanation she had on her abilities being ineffective.
She moved her hand to caress the head full of silky hair on her lap. Eventually she asked "I only need to know one thing, does your main body have the same personality and views as you?
"If it does, then you have my answer. But if it doesn't, I can make myself love you both the way you are."
Aura, in the mood for teasing, said "Are you sure you are not agreeing because you want a threesome? I mean, he is going to take many wives, so the future problem of children is solved."
