Chapter 5 - It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a talent for swords, must be in want of a wife

Eleonor wasn't angry, she seemed to have liked me, even though I had caused an injury that must have caused a great deal of pain. Maybe she's like those generals who are crazy about skilled people. Not that I'm skilled, I just used my energy power to my advantage.

Later on, I found out that this was more common than I thought, swordsmen also used magic to increase their abilities and become stronger, and some knew the basics of healing magic.

"The Count really wasn't lying when he said you had talent," Eleonor was looking at me differently, she seemed happier. "Do you already have a wife?"

The question caught me off guard, the Count's face went blank and the woman next to him laughed.

"I'm only 11, so I don't have a wife yet. Not even a fiancée."

"Age is just a detail. But that aside, now you have a fiancée, I'm willing to marry you."

"What?" Jasly cried out in surprise.

"You can't do that," the Count said to Eleonor, then he took her to a location and returned a few minutes later.

The Count didn't look very pleased, I immediately thought that he hadn't managed to change her mind.

"I guess I wasn't very clear about why I brought you, it wasn't just for your strength."

"That's what I'm curious about, how do you know I know how to use magic?"

"That's easy, someone saw you using magic and I asked them to keep an eye on you, so I knew you had talent." That made sense.

That made sense, but.

"And about using a sword, I've never trained, but you acted as if you knew I was good."

"You're Zare's son, in his youth he was very skilled, he must still be. So I just assumed that you had some skill from having trained with him or just having attended one of his classes."

My father really was an excellent swordsman, but over time bureaucratic work began to take up a lot of his time, so he ended up becoming just another bureaucrat.

"Back to the point, I don't just want you to be part of the guard, I want you to marry my daughter. But Eleonor is also a noblewoman and has asked for your hand. Since you haven't yet agreed to marry my daughter, what do you think of marrying them both? You'd only gain."

Eleonor stared at me, she was a little scary, her gaze was penetrating and in a way she was a little attractive. Jasly didn't seem to like hearing the two of them forcing me to get married, I looked at her, the Count saw.

"I see, so you already like someone, no problem, when you graduate you'll get a temporary knighthood, depending on your achievements you can get a higher honorary title or even an officer, so you can have several wives, so how about marrying all three?"

Jasly turned red, did she like me too?

I didn't know what to do, having the three of them looking at me like that was a bit terrifying, the woman with the sword just laughed at the whole situation, she took pleasure in my suffering.

"I accept," I agreed without having any choice.

"Good," the Count seemed happy.

Eleonor took my hand and dragged me to a place I didn't know where it was, we entered the Count's mansion and then went to her room, it was big and had a very large bed and the desk caught my eye, it was full of books and papers, she also had some bookshelves.

There was also her own bathroom in the room. She really was important.

She started to take off her clothes, her body was all sweaty, maybe she was going to the shower and because she was always surrounded by men in an army she must have lost the shame of having her naked body seen by a man.

"Aren't you going to take your clothes off?"

Maybe I was wrong.

"What do you mean?"

"We've just got engaged, we have to consummate this engagement, I don't want to lose you and if we do, you won't be able to go back, or do you want to go back?"

Her body didn't stink, I only smelled a faint odor of sweat, but her body smelled sweet and pleasant, even though it was dirty.

The Count seemed to have understood what had happened, but he didn't say anything, the woman next to him just laughed.

"What's your name, I forgot to ask."

"Yzi Ster, but you can just call me Yzi, I don't care much for titles or anything like that."

"It's nice to meet you, and I'm sorry that I only seem to care about your presence now, I should have asked your name before."

She laughed, but I agree, what child talks like that?

I later found out that she was the daughter of a Viscount, Count Mistborn was a man who managed to have important people by his side, which was impressive.

Jasly and I practiced for a few weeks, I was getting the hang of it, Jasly was still slow, but she was gradually improving. The worst part was the stares from Eleonor and the invitations for me to sleep in her room, even though I had my own room, but on the one hand it was interesting, as I managed to learn a few things from her.

She was an excellent swordsman, but she liked magic a little, but she learned it to devote herself to alchemy, she liked to make healing potions and some vigor potions, I was the guinea pig, especially for the aphrodisiacs she sold to the nobles. I wasn't sure if she saw me as her fiancé, as an object, or just as a worthless human guinea pig.

I asked her why she had asked to marry me, she was important, she could marry any man she wanted, but she had chosen me.

The answer was, 'you're stronger than me', on the one hand I understood her. But at the same time I felt that this reason was shallow. But for her it was enough, I didn't object, although I wanted more freedom, I promised that in this life I would be a calm person and stay quiet while I found a way to try to get back to my world, but I ended up in a situation that is the extreme opposite of what I had planned.

I kept training, one day the Count called me into his office, he made a movement as if he was fixing his glasses, but he wasn't wearing any.

"Cal?"

"I thought you'd find out before, after all, my human name isn't very different from my old name."

"Yzi, so you're..."

"Yes, I'm your lovely third wife."

I started to apologize for the marriage, but she kept laughing.

"The Demon Lord apologizing to one of his mistresses, that's so pathetic."

"Now I remember why I hated you," I didn't really hate her, I just found her a bit annoying, but I grew up around her, so I couldn't do much without her by my side.

She came up to me and kissed me.

"But I admit I was jealous of Jasly, she got my old position of third wife, but I can still be fourth, can't I?"
