[NIRVANA]
In a room lit up with incense candles, a young girl with extremely long hair flowing down her back is seen sitting silently, her gaze fixed on a limp body that is severely cracked and wrapped in healing bandages which lay still on the bed.
The gentle rise and fall of his chest was a constant reminder he was still alive. She leaned forward towards the limp body and took his frail hand in hers.
"Kenji," Her small tone whimpered as she tried to conceal her tears which were trying to force their way out of her eyes. "It's been a long while since you have been bedridden. When are you coming back to me?"
Her other hand swiftly met with his bangs, tucking away the sway strands that had fallen across his pale face. Kenji's hair had grown longer than it used to be and a number of bruises patched across his whole face.
While gently soothing his hair, she continued to soliloquize.
"Sometimes I wonder if you miss me as much as I do… I wonder if you ever care about me so much enough to not protect yourself from this happening to you, because if you do care about me, you would not have let that bastard do this to you!"
She gave his hand a gentle squeeze as her eyes painted hues of concern over his face for a long time. Just sitting right there next to Kenji and watching him breath was enough and she would love to see him open his eyes and catch her watching over him as well.
She got lost in her thoughts, her eyes never leaving Kenji for a moment and she cursed the one who had driven her beloved to the carrot state he was in now– Liu Jing!
"I will make him pay for hurting you, Kenji." She vowed, wiping a bead of tears that had escaped out of her eyes from her face.
"I definitely will." She breathed.
The door to the room opened with a slight swoosh, pulling her out of her train of thoughts instantly, but her eyes were still glued to watching Kenji breath softly.
She instinctively listened carefully to the sound of the footsteps that were striding towards her from behind and as she observed this, her mind gave her a response that aligned with the present.
…Whispering footsteps soft against the floor as they approached carefully. Each tap echoes a sense of tranquility and care…
"Nurses!" Her mind read out loud.
"Young miss, it is time to tender Master Kenji's wounds." One of the nurses announced, carefully with her choice of words so as not to upset the young miss.
A fragile sigh escaped her lips as she shrugged lightly.
"Is my brother back yet?" She inquired.
"Yes, young miss."
With one final look, she stood up from her seat and turned away, her long vellet hair fluttering with the wind as she swayed out of the room.
As she walked on through the daunting colossal corridors of the manor, a couple of tenders and maids paused as her radiating presence swayed past them, but they never failed to deliver a subtle bow to her which she blatantly ignored as if they were not in existence.
Her eyes were fixed on her path like she could kill anyone who tried to stop her. She knew where she was headed to and her mind was totally absent from the outside world. She needed to see her brother.
A couple for strides ahead of her, a giant gate which served as a door for the clan's meeting room dragged open, giving way for a man draped in rare elemental material armor like suit with a sword hung at the brim of his trouser while his hand laced on the hilt of his sword, ready for an impromptu attack.
"Brother!" Her thin voice called urgently as she sighted him, making him turn around sharply to face her.
"Why have you come here?" He demanded, his tone a little bit harsh and stoic.
Ignoring his question, she furthered her journey towards him and finally mounted to a stop in front of him.
"Why is it taking so long for him to wake up?"
"And why is it taking so long for you to realize Kenji is nothing but a vegetable? The alchemists and physicians are trying their best to bring your boy alive… loosen up and relax, okay?"
"But they are not doing enough!" She thundered, a little spark of lightning crossing through the wall.
"Calm down, little sister. If your boy will survive this, he will and if not–"
"Have you found any trail on him? On that bastard, Liu Jing."
Her brother soothed a worry line that had found its abode on his forehead, evidence to how tired he was of dealing with his little sister's constant obsession with Kenji.
"I have just had a discussion with my father and he wants us to move Kenji's body from the clan's manor. He had not been found worthy enough to be an inhabitant her–"
A loud scoff escaped her lips and her eyes darkened, her thoughts turning sore as she had just heard the clan were turning Kenji away.
"After milking him off, you want to toss him away now? Have you concluded he is useless in the leader's grand plan? After all he has done?!"
"Little sister–"
She rolled her eyes dangerously in disgust.
"I will go through the maze of illusion and meet Liu Jing myself."
Her brother turned dangerously at her while grabbing her arms with a strict pull which shook her up a bit.
"Are you out of your mind? Do you know how dangerous that world of illusion is to our kind?"
"I will do anything, anything to make sure Kenji is back on his feet… just like before."
"Sister…"
With her gaze lowering enough to bore a hole into her brother's armor, she growled slowly.
"Watch me, brother Kai."
