Jade couldn't sleep anymore her mind wandered, her Jade eyes shut but her body still awake. Jade long hair scattered all over, her eyes slowly opened. Jade sighed, she couldn't help but analyze her situation, she signed a contract agreeing to be save Nigel, although doctor condemned him dead but she knows better. This wasn't her first time, and she also agreed to be his wife but just for two years, she knew the reason Nigel had purchased her in the first place and that was to be an obedient tool he could utilize even after his death, just to defend his company and for Alexis to take over then she'd just be discarded. Jade smiled;" well am not going let that happen, who's gonna help me if he dies". she said in a low voice.
Jade turned to look at Alexis but didn't find him on the bed she turned everywhere but didn't find him as well." where did he go ", just then the door opened; Alexis walked into the room holding a glass of juice in his hand, he climbed the bed gently trying not to spill the juice in his hands and his small fragile body sat on Jade's lap he turned to Jade shyly;" I brought juice for you, uncle Hilbert always brings it to me to make me happy, and I always am, so I brought it for you, he then bowed his head, he fluffy hair fell creating an over whelming scene too much for Jade's heart, Jade's face instantly turned red. Alexis looked up at her with his big golden eyes; " so can you please stay with me today he small hands wrapped her body,"please don't go to school".
Jade used her hand and covered her mouth, he was just too cute for this world and if she didn't cover her mouth she could say anything and agree at any time, she took a deep breath; " Alexis I wish I could, but I can't miss school", she said in a low voice, as she patted Alexis fluffy hair. Alexis looked disappointed but she carried him in her arms and said;" but there's no need for us to be together before I go. Jade said smiling. Alexis then looked at Jade smiled, and nodded. " But first we need to take a bath, don't you think?. Alexis looked at Jade and asked "can I bathe with you". Jade nodded and smiled;" of course". Jade took Alexis to the bathroom and undressed him and placed him in the tub, she already filled the tub with warm bathing water. This wasn't the first time she bathed children she'd usually bathe the little ones amongst the kids before. Jade used a soft sponge and soap and gently washed his back. Alexis then spoke;" I know brother hasn't been very nice to you, but please don't be angry at brother he's very nice, it's just that not many people has been nice to him when growing up, so he isn't very nice to most people", "Oh I see''. Jade replied.
" Brother just doesn't know you very well am sure once he does he'll like you", Jade smiled;" don't worry me and your brother are going to be good friends". " Jade picked up the soap and washed his hair bubbles could be seen on his fluffy black hair." Close your eyes ok, am going to rinse the soap away", Alexis complied.
Jade finished up and then wrapped Alexis I'm a small bathrobe and used to fluffy white towel to dry his hair. Alexis looked up at Jade;"Are you coming home on time today", honestly she didn't know but she would try, Jade smiled and replied;" I'll try, is that okay?", Alexis nodded and reached out to Jade, Jade lifted him up to her arms,"I'll wait for you", Alexis said wrapping his small arms around her neck. Jade slightly nodded; "sure".
SOME MOMENTS EARLIER.
Hilbert was in the private gym with Nigel. " Where is Jade", Nigel who was only wearing black shorts without a shirt asked as he got of the thread mill, sweat gently dripped down his face and his muscular body exuded a strong sense of masculinity. Hilbert who also wore a dark blue short and no shirt doing press ups, his body also exuded masculinity replied; " she hasn't left her room". Nigel took a bottle of water in his hand took a sip and fell into deep thought, yesterday the girl had made him signed a contract that she would save his life and also be with him till he was made master. If she said that it means he'd have to live long enough to do that, so it's basically an assurance that she'd save his life. If she really possessed those abilities, she'd be on par with Aguilera, that would mean all he had to do was be her backer.
" Hilbert I want you to investigate Jade, gather every little information about her and report back to me", Hilbert replied; " Yes master ". Hilbert got up and left the room. Hilbert was walking past Jade's room and stopped and stared deeply at Jade's room for a moment;" This girl had promised to save his best friend, they had met in military camp several years ago, he remembered the day when he had saved his life, they had been taking a hike up a mountain and he was the weakest at that time, so he was easily bullied. Younger Hilbert had to carry all the bags, while made to hike up the mountain. After sometime the group had stopped to rest. He put the bags down and was panting uncontrollably, the other boys surrounded him;" are you really that weak, you can't even carry bags. A tall boy with black hair said while delivering a kick to his stomach, he winced in pain. Another boy picked him up roughly and held him down, a boy with blonde hair delivered a blow to his stomach, he coughed hardly. He was powerless, " You know since you're weak, it's better to discard the garbage", the boy said as they carried him to the edge of the mountains path. Hilbert coughed;" You can't do this, you'll be charged for murder!", the boy gave a psychopathic smile and said;" not when there are any witnesses, I've always hated weak trash like you, it'd be better if you just die here.
Just as they prepared to throw him of the mountain, he felt a strong arm pull him from behind. He looked up and saw a silhouette of a person moving very fast beating and taking down the boys mercilessly he felt a strong cold aura emanating from him, he shivered.
Then a boy with blood stained knuckles extended his hand towards him and said;" Are you okay?", he nodded . Hilbert had remembered that people called him the young prodigy who had tremendous level of combat power and had mastered martial arts at a young age.
But how can such a person saved someone like him, a weakling. Hilbert accepted his hand and asked;" what was your reason for saving someone like me?", younger Nigel replied;" You shouldn't need a reason to help someone should you?", Hilbert felt a warm feeling in his heart and also a spark of determination, from that day he promised to get stronger and follow this person anywhere he goes.
Those words," you shouldn't need a reason to help someone", he had felt those words had been repeated to him twice now, then he heard Jade's and Alexis voice he then grinned and spoke;"Interesting". He walked over and knocked on the door," come in" Jade answered."I just wanted to check on the young master", "oh am almost done dressing him up". There was a look of surprise on Hilbert's face, Alexis doesn't even let the servants who had been here for many years touch him. Just himself and Nigel could touch him, but he let Jade who had only been here two days bathe him. He slightly smiled and sighed; "young mistress you should also get ready, I'll take care of Alexis". You can meet us at the the dining hall. Jade turned to Alexis;" you heard what uncle Hilbert said, can you wait?", Alexis nodded and walked to Hilbert who took his hand and they left Jade alone in the room.
Jade took off her clothes and went into the bathtub, she played with the water with her hand a little, then she sighed;" to treat Nigel she'd need full co-operation but she wasn't really sure he'd easily give that co-operation, even when she had tried to help him before, she had to beg him first". She just immersed her self in the water defeatedly. After some time Jade finished up and got into her school uniform, she noticed her hair had grown longer it was becoming really long these days. She tied her hair into a ponytail and took her phone as well and headed to the dining area.
JADE POV...
I came out of my room and ran into Lilly, she gave me a disdainful look and said;" Do you think by manipulating Alexis, you can have it easy here?!, you're still an insignificant property". I looked at this girl in front of me, she had long brown hair and dark black eyes, nice features and a good figure. Although she was beautiful, she's still nothing compared to me. I looked at her and smiled;" It's not my fault am really likeable, I mean not everyone has that trait". Lilly looked at me more disdainfully and said;" what the heck is that supposed to mean", I replied calmly;" I leave that to your imagination". I turned and walked away. I could feel her gaze burning through my back. What a witch.
I took the elevator and went straight to the dining hall. When I got there I saw Nigel there, I walked over. He stared at me for a moment and asked me to sit next to him. I was surprised but I did and spoke; "Young master if I you don't mind I'd like to discuss some important things with you", Nigel working on his laptop sipping coffee asked:" What is it?". I silently took a deep breath;" If i want to treat you, I need you to entrust your body to me", Nigel paused and looked at me questionably, I panicked and waved my hands a little;" I don't mean it like that, am just trying to say you have to trust the decisions I make". Nigel closed his laptop and turned to me;" what do you want?", I sighed silently; " I want to be the one to carry most of your activities as well as monitor daily activities. I continued;
" Am basically saying, from now on I'll change your daily routines a little".
Nigel looked at me calmly and agreed, I couldn't help but sigh a sigh of relief. Alexis and Hilbert walked in. Alexis ran from Hilbert and came to me he climbed my seat and sat on my lap and asked;" Please can you feed me", I looking at him and smiled;" sure". The servant came in and brought the food and I was feeding Alexis, his big eyes are really my weakness. Lilly walked in and she didn't look thrilled about the fact I was sitting next to Nigel. Lilly walked up to me and asked disdainfully;" Who gave you the right to sit here?'', I replied;" The young master did", she looked at Nigel who was sipping Coffee. Nigel put down his coffee and turned to Lilly while holding her hand;" I did tell her to sit there, you sit here next to me" he gestured to the other sit next to him, Lilly gave me an angry look and sat down pissed.
I ignored her and continued feeding Alexis, then I looked at Nigel plate, when I did, I wasn't happy, the food combination on the plate wasn't good for a person suffering from his condition, he took his utensil and was about to eat a spoonful. I grabbed his hand." You can't eat this, it isn't good for you", Nigel then looked at me and asked;" Is it really bad", I nodded although the food was nutritious but only for someone who isn't suffering from his condition. Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce shouldn't be a choice. Lilly grabbed my hand;" what the heck do you think you're doing", she said as she threw my hand away. Lilly with an annoyed look asked;" You don't have the right to decide what he eats". I looked at this girl confused, didn't she know that am treating him?. Nigel calmly spoke;
" Jade's decides what I eat now". Lilly shocked asked;" Why!, she's a nobody, why does she decide what you eat?.
Nigel replied;" It doesn't mean anything, it's just food'', Lilly outraged left the dinning Hall." Why did you defend me just now, aren't you afraid of hurting your relationship with Lilly?" I asked. Nigel replied; " It's my Job as your backer". I never thought he'd take it this seriously. Nigel then spoke;" Well since I can't eat this what do I eat then". I then smiled and said that isn't a problem I'll cook for you". I then left Alexis who went next to Nigel and made my way to the kitchen.
I made my way to the kitchen, although I haven't been here very long, I know my way around. I was walking in the hall way when I felt a force push me to the wall. I had a puzzled look on my face. It was Lilly, she was giving me a warning. Honestly I wasn't mad, it's just that, was this her way of threatening me?, the force was so light, I didn't feel a thing. Am actually worried if she's exhausted. " Bitch! are you even listening to me?", I heard Lilly say angrily. " If I ever see you close to Nigel again, I'll tear your head open".
I looked at the girl in front of me, she wasn't worth my time. I walked past her, then I felt her grab by shoulder;
" Am talking to you", I gently removed her hand from my shoulder, I was pissed now. My eyes glowed;" Don't bite off more than you can chew". Lilly terrified took two steps back. I made my way to kitchen leaving her in a dazed state.
I got to the kitchen and it was massive and luxurious, there were three popular executive iron chefs there they were all in their fifty's. They were known for their exceptional talent and their impact in the culinary world. The chefs bowed;" welcome young mistress"." There's no need for that after all you professionals are way older than me". I smiled. A chef stepped forward;" my name is Hanson Klay, the man on my left is Thomas Claus and the man on my right is Perez Hilton". I was in the presence of masters now, but I still have to cook for Nigel. I smiled and asked;" Hope you don't mind me cooking for the young master?", Hanson smiled and said;" There's no problem at all, I'd actually love to see another person cook other that us old men'', I couldn't help laughing. Honestly I did cook a lot when I was little, I'd cook for my master and he'd reject the food until it was perfect, he didn't only train me in medicine. He also taught culinary skills and very brutally too.
I could see the doubt in their eyes when I went to my work station but I couldn't be distracted now.
Jade tied her hair into a ponytail, tied her apron round her waist and stretched a little, the chefs watched carefully, they wanted to know if this girl was really worthy to be Nigel's wife and there's no better way to know a person personality than cooking. As experienced chefs they could tell.
Jade carefully brought her ingredients, some eggs, golden caviar, whole grain, English muffin, salt, pepper and some parsley. Hanson knew by the look of her ingredients she was making a golden caviar-topped scrambled eggs with whole grain muffin. It's a moderately difficult dish to create. It needed precision and care, the caviar requires careful handling to prevent them from loosing flavour and retain it's texture. Scrambled eggs is a very simple dish but with caviar, it could pose challenging to some chefs. But most of all balancing the flavors between the eggs, caviar and English muffin is the most important part.
Jade carefully prepared her ingredients and started the cooking process, her movement were precise as if having done this since she was born. Hanson looked amazed, it wasn't really a hard dish but there was an air she carried, it was as if watching his master cook. He felt he was watching a prodigy. The other chefs were also amazed, she was really a prodigy. They felt their skills significantly shrink compared to hers and it wasn't even a really complex dish. Their prides crashed. They all watched her carefully not wanting to miss a second, her movements, precision." Young mistress truly is a genius", Thomas said excitedly. "Please ma'am let me become your disciple", Perez begged. Hanson interjected;" Have some class old man, we can't let the youngsters outshine us old folks", he said smiling. Jade smiled and said;" It really isn't a big deal I just really had a disciplined mentor". Hanson and the other chefs wondered who her mentor was but they didn't ask, as they didn't want to come off too eager. Hanson gave up and smiled. From the way she cooked, she could tell her skills couldn't be matched and yet she's so humble.
" Our young master really found a good wife". Hanson said. Jade just laughed it off and served the dish, her presentation was master class. The chefs really felt they have been totally outclassed, Jade took off her apron and left the kitchen waving the chefs goodbye. Jade personally took the food to Nigel and served him and smiled;" Sorry for the wait you can eat now". Nigel with a calm expression looked at the food, then took his cutlery and took a bite out of it. He was instantly transported, none of his chefs could cook like this and they were at the pinnacle of the culinary world, but this dish was just in another league of it's own. Now he was determined to find out everything about jade. Alexis climbed down his chair and climbed up Nigel's body and sat on him;" Brother can I try too". Nigel softly answered;" go ahead". Alexis took a bite and he's eyes watered;" Sister-in-law your so amazing, this is the best food I have ever tasted". Jade smiled and said;" It really is nothing, I'll make meals for you anytime". Jade looked at her phone and saw she was going to be late and quickly grabbed her things and hurried out. Nigel stared at the retreating figure of Jade but his usual cold expression softened.
Meanwhile....
Hanson and the other chefs were debating if they could try Jade's food, Thomas spoke;" young mistress did give us permission to eat her food but my pride might not take it if it's better than mine". " Yeah me too", Perez said defeatedly. Hanson looked at the food finally took a bite he was stunned and couldn't move. Thomas Shaked him; "Hanson what's wrong!?, talk to me". Thomas and Perez who were curious, took a bite of the food and tears rolled down their faces they tried to wipe it off, but the tears wouldn't stop. Thomas cried;" I knew we're nothing compared to the young mistress". Perez just nodded. Hanson just sighed and thought, I guess us old guys got left behind. " Stop crying you two, you're old men for goodness sake have some pride", Hanson scolded. Thomas and Perez nodded.
Lilly was listening in silently gritting her teeth and her face green with envy. Moments ago that bitch had the audacity to ignore her, and she couldn't move as she was terrified. "You'll pay for this Jade". Lilly took out her phone; " Silva i need you to teach someone a lesson for me", outside Jade was getting into the car after saying goodbye to Alexis under Nigel's gaze.
