Chapter 12 - The Cruelty Knight

The Cruelty Knight is a denizen of the Circle of Darkness an ancient void that predates all things. It is emptiness, nonexistence, and chaos, before the Creator cast light into creation. This darkness was so cold, cruel, terrifying, deadly, and absolute for so long that the birth of flickering light went unnoticed. Yet that light grew, until nonexistence was no longer everything, and the darkness screamed in protest.

It is said that the Great Darkness is the root of all evil in the Multiverse, but in truth, the Great Darkness is neither good nor evil. It is a force that simply wishes to observe the grand tale of the Multiverse until its inevitable end.

The Circle of Darkness is the birthplace of primordial entities beings that represent the void and nonexistence itself. Within this realm, the Void devours all, and not even the Creator's light can pierce the abyss of absolute nothingness.

It is nonexistence incarnate, lying beyond the Multiverse and all abstract personifications that make up its totality including entities such as Infinity, and even that which lies beyond Infinity.

There was nothing in the beginning, and there will be nothing in the end. From nothing came everything, and to nothing, everything shall return. Life, death, soul, emotion, matter, space, time, abstraction, and concept all will eventually be consumed by the Void.

Darkness and destruction with unfathomable power, devouring all existence. Even the most dominant forces are merely reactions to a fear born from being something that surpasses all cruelty and submits to nothing. It is the core of all that is, and the origin from which all things arise.

In the nameless dark, beyond the boundaries of comprehension, it was born without cause, without purpose, without end. All things that exist are merely fleeting reflections of its shadow illusions within eternal silence. Its form cannot be understood, and its mind transcends the very concept of existence.

While all things believe they have a beginning and an end, it merely laughs at such limitations. For it, time, space, and existence are but ripples upon the sea of absolute void. Those entities bold enough to peer into it will discover that they are not meaningful beings, but only dreams that are about to fade.

It does not create. It does not destroy. Because in truth, nothing truly exists. All of existence is a falsehood that will ultimately return to it. Even the laws that shape reality cannot contain it, for reality itself is but a fragment of a greater emptiness.

Nothing can oppose it. Nothing can comprehend the depths of its soul. It is not ordinary darkness. It is not a god, nor a devil. It is The Void the origin, the end, and the essence of all that ever was, is, and will be.
