On the couch, Elena and James were frowning with worried faces.
A small figure suddenly approached them, and they immediately noticed it was Alex, with Cecilia following closely behind him.
Their irritation vanished instantly.
“Cecilia, Emma, what brings you here? You’re just in time for dinner.”
Alex greeted them politely.
“Great-aunt, Great-uncle, Grandma Mary, it’s nice to see you.”
Before he could finish, Mary reacted as if her tail had been stepped on, her voice sharp and piercing.
“Who are you calling Grandma? Who's your Grandma? What are you doing here?”
Her barrage of questions scared Alex a bit, making Cecilia stand protectively in front of him as she placed the medicine in her hand on the coffee table in front of Elena.
“Great-aunt, this is lung-soothing medicine that works great when dissolved in water. Feel free to try it.”
Elena was somewhat surprised, not expecting Cecilia to remember her minor ailment so clearly.
