Half an hour later, Cecilia appeared at Adrian’s courtyard door with Alex.
She had to settle the score with this old man. He had known Alex was her son, yet he didn’t bother to tell her!
Inside the courtyard, Adrian was looking for a place to hide. All he wanted was to take on an apprentice; what was so wrong with that?
Cecilia suddenly pushed the door open.
"Old Ari! I've come to deal with you!"
She caught Adrian just as he was about to hide in the side room, awkwardly smiling.
"I can explain..."
Before he could finish, the two began a chase around the courtyard. Alex watched them, smiling in half-amusement.
He never expected his mom to have such a playful side.
He had always thought of her as someone who was independent, calm, and strong. Although she appeared angry, there was a hint of a smile at the corners of her eyes.
In front of Adrian, she was also just a child herself.
After enough chasing, Adrian was out of breath and admitted defeat.
