Alex quickly crawled into bed and hid under the covers.
"Mommy, I'm really tired today and want to sleep early. Let me try on the dress tomorrow," he said.
"Oh, okay."
Although confused, Cecilia saw how exhausted Alex looked. She followed him and got into bed, hugging him as they both tried to sleep.
As Alex lay in bed, he could feel her embrace as she gently patted his back.
Her breathing slowly steadied, indicating that she had fallen asleep.
However, he was still awake. He quietly watched Cecilia's face under the faint moonlight from the window.
