Fai & Isa: Love in the Fantasy World
Part 22 – A World That Begins to Change
The sky continued to tremble, its colors shifting as if trying to adjust to something new. The ground beneath them pulsed gently, as though this world had a heartbeat of its own.
Fai and Isa stood alert, their eyes still locked onto the towering figure. Now, the mist surrounding it had begun to fade slightly, revealing a clearer shape.
It was neither human nor animal.
Its form resembled the silhouette of something unfinished. There were no facial features, only two faint lights that resembled eyes. Its body appeared like liquid shadow, constantly shifting as if it had not fully materialized in this world.
Isa swallowed hard. "Fai… our world is becoming more unstable."
Fai nodded slowly. He could feel it too. The energy flowing through this world—usually an extension of their emotions—was now trembling wildly, as if trying to find a new balance.
The creature moved again. Its steps were slow but deliberate.
"You feel fear."
Its voice echoed—not just in their ears, but inside their minds.
Fai raised his sword. "What are you, really?"
The creature did not answer immediately. Instead, it lifted one of its hands—and instantly, the world around them began to change.
The trees that had just grown back shuddered and twisted unnaturally. The once-calm river suddenly spiraled into a violent vortex. The air grew heavier, making each breath feel constricted.
Isa took a step back. "Is the world… adapting to it?"
At last, the creature spoke again.
"You believe this world exists because of your emotions… but have you ever considered that this world may have desires of its own?"
Fai fell silent. Those words echoed in his mind, making him feel… small.
Isa shook her head, trying to stay focused. "What do you mean? This world exists because we created it!"
The creature turned its gaze toward Isa, and for the first time, it showed something resembling an expression.
A faint smile.
"Is that really true? Or… has this world simply been waiting for you to find it?"
Fai frowned. "You're speaking as if this world existed before us…"
The creature did not respond, but suddenly, the sky above them spun faster. The golden and purple hues merged, forming a massive vortex. From within that vortex, streaks of light rained down like falling stars, touching the earth and creating new shapes.
Isa stared in disbelief. "This world… is evolving on its own."
Fai clenched his jaw. If this was true, then this world was more than just their imagination. It was more than a dream they had created together.
It was something greater.
The creature tilted its head slightly, as if observing them more closely.
"You have become strong enough to create."
"Now, can you accept the truth that what you create… can grow beyond you?"
Fai and Isa had no answer.
Because for the first time since they arrived in this world… they felt like they were no longer its creators.
They were merely its inhabitants.
