Fai & Isa: Love in the Fantasy World
Part 15 – Trapped In Between
Blinding white light engulfed them, so bright that Fai and Isa had to shut their eyes. A burning sensation surrounded their bodies, as if they were being pulled into an invisible vortex.
Then, suddenly, everything stopped.
Fai gasped as he opened his eyes. His body felt weightless yet strangely restrained, as if held by an unseen force. When he looked around, a chilling realization crept over him.
They were no longer in the real world.
But they hadn't reached their fantasy world either.
Isa stood beside him, her eyes filled with confusion and fear. "Fai… where are we?"
Around them stretched an endless void—thick gray mist swirling and shifting, accompanied by faint whispers. There was no sky, no ground, only emptiness surrounding them.
Fai tried to step forward, but every movement felt sluggish, as if he were walking through water. "I think… we're trapped between both worlds."
Isa bit her lip. "Then how do we get out?"
Before Fai could answer, a soft chuckle echoed from the distance.
They both turned instantly. From within the mist, a white figure slowly emerged. Glowing red eyes pierced through the darkness.
The white cat was here.
And this time, it looked different.
It was larger than before, nearly as tall as Fai. Its once pristine fur now shimmered with faint flames at the tips. Every step it took left behind black scorch marks that disappeared the moment it moved forward.
Isa took a step back, feeling the heat intensify. "Why did it let us enter this place?"
The cat stared at them with unreadable eyes. Then, in a deep and chilling voice, it spoke.
"Because you are not ready."
Fai and Isa froze.
This was the first time the creature had spoken.
Fai swallowed, trying to steady himself. "Ready for what?"
The cat narrowed its eyes. "To understand the world you have created. To face its consequences."
Isa clenched her fists. "What do you mean? That world belongs to us! You're just trying to separate us!"
The white cat stepped closer, and though they wanted to retreat, their bodies felt frozen in place.
"That world does not belong only to you," it whispered. "It has a will of its own. And I am here… to test you."
Fai felt his heart pounding. A test? What was really happening to their world?
Suddenly, the cat raised its claw. With one swift motion, it slashed through the air, creating a shimmering rift in the void.
Through the rift, Fai and Isa caught a glimpse of their world—the lush forests, the violet sky, and the shimmering river they had always known.
But something was wrong.
The world looked darker. As if it was collapsing.
"If you wish to return," the cat said, "prove that you are worthy of this world."
And before they could question further, the light from the rift enveloped them, pulling them inside.
Fai and Isa screamed as they fell—
Back into their world.
Or perhaps… into a place that had changed forever.
