Fai & Isa: Love in the Fantasy World
Part 14 – Traces Between Two Worlds
The heat in the air still lingered. Fai and Isa stared at the claw mark slowly fading on the carpet. Though faint, the scent of something burnt remained in the room.
Isa swallowed hard. "This can't just be a coincidence…"
Fai tried to think clearly, but his mind was racing with terrifying possibilities. If the white cat could leave marks in the real world, did that mean it could also hurt them here?
"Isa," Fai spoke softly, trying to calm himself more than anyone else, "if it can enter our world… then there must be a way for us to enter that world differently."
Isa lifted her gaze, her eyes full of questions. "Are you sure?"
Fai looked at his hand—the warmth of their previous battle still lingered. "I think we don't need to sleep to go back there. That world is starting to merge with ours. Something is connecting them."
Isa bit her lip, deep in thought. "But what? What could open the way?"
Fai recalled every time they entered the fantasy world. Usually, they simply 'woke up' there, as if the world was always waiting for them. But this time was different. There were traces left here. Proof that the boundary between the two worlds was weakening.
He looked at Isa with determination. "We need to find the weak point between this world and the other one. Maybe there's a specific place that acts as a gateway."
Isa was silent for a moment, then her eyes widened. "Fai… what if that place isn't in the real world, but inside us?"
Fai frowned. "What do you mean?"
Isa placed a hand over her heart. "That world was created from our emotions, right? Our love, our dreams, even our fears. Then… what if the white cat appears because of something inside us, too?"
Her words echoed in Fai's mind. Their world always changed based on their emotions. But if the white cat could affect their world… did that mean something within them had called it?
Before Fai could respond, the heat in the room intensified. The ceiling lights flickered. Then, something appeared in the large mirror in the corner.
Isa covered her mouth with her hand. "Fai, look…"
In the mirror, a white figure slowly emerged. A pair of glowing red eyes stared at them from within the reflection. Though it didn't move, they could feel its presence.
Suddenly, the mirror began to tremble, and tiny cracks started spreading from the center.
Fai and Isa stepped back cautiously. "It's trying to come through," Fai said, his voice tense.
Isa tightened her grip on his hand. "Or… it wants us to go inside."
The mirror continued to shake, the cracks widening. Fai could feel the heat pulling him forward. He exchanged glances with Isa, and in an instant, they both understood—this was the entrance they had been looking for.
Without hesitation, they clasped hands and stepped closer.
As they touched the mirror's surface, a blinding white light filled the room.
And in an instant, they vanished.
