Chapter 27 - Korrin & Yajirobe

Chiaotzu and the few Capsule Corps employees arrived, and handed the dragon balls over to Bulma.

Bulma, receiving the dragon balls, smiled thankfully. "Thank you for your help. Feel free to take a few days off and be with your families…" She struggled on saying the final word.

The employees weren't dense, unlike a certain idiot, so they nodded and thanked Bulma for the time off. Chiaotzu remained there to ask Bulma something…

"Bulma, I was wondering, did you find anything about how the saiyans recover from their injuries?"

"Not yet, but I have a quantum computer working on downloading all of the data from their army, so it's only a matter of time until I find something. Honestly, I'd really like something else to work on, to, take my mind off of things."

"I was thinking of going to ask Master Korrin to instruct me again."

"Hmm? Don't you have the gravity chamber here? Even Goku said it was the best training he'd ever done."

"I want to learn more about the senzu beans. I think it would be a good idea to farm them…"

"So, a hydroponics farm then? Interesting. That's not a bad idea. Thanks Chiaotzu, I'll start construction on one safely hidden underground."

Chiaotzu left, making his way to Korrin's place. He didn't tell Bulma that Yamcha was also there, but she didn't need to know that either. Those two were as far apart as they could possibly be.

Korrin bonked Yamcha's head with his cane, it was not a light tap. "Yamcha, are you sick in the head or something? How could you let your kid die like that?"

"I… I tried my best to fight that Raditz guy. But he was too strong for me."

"Aren't you just a coward? I mean, you didn't even hop into action at the right time."

"Oh yeah! I didn't see you helping out!"

"Well duh, I was here, eat.. Ehehe I mean, I was protecting Master Korrin."

"Coward!"

"Oh yeah! Takes one to know one! At least I'm not the dirt bag who got his own son killed."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY!?"

"Alright, alright, calm down you two."

"Master Korrin, even though I failed to protect him, I can't accept him claiming my actions caused his death."

"Yajirobe, let me take care of this. I know you're right. But we really shouldn't just blurt that out without an explanation." He cleared his throat. "I bet Bulma and the others realized it as well. Likely when you told them what happened. I'm surprised they didn't put you in the hospital instead. You really blew it this time, Yamcha."

Yamcha was absolutely seething right now. He was unable to accept this notion but he sat down, and took a few deep breaths. "Master, explain this for me. Why do you claim my actions are what caused Bosa's death?"

Korrin sighed. "Are you certain that's what you really want? It just sounds like you already know, and don't want to believe it." Korrin took a sip. "Ahh, alright then, fine. What didn't you intervene right away? Had you done so, the kids wouldn't have been trapped."

While Yamcha was thinking about what Korrin said, Chiaotzu decided to make himself known. "You know Yamcha, if you had worked together with those two kids, both of them would still be alive. They were strong enough to help overcome the gap. And they excelled with their Kamehameha wave. In fact, when the two of them did a combined one, it's enough to push me around rather handedly."

Yamcha, having been forced to accept Master Korrin's words, was double blindsided by Chiaotzu. He sulked for a moment, and then instead of responding, he began meditating.

"Good, good… He's finally making a change, it took him a while, but it's better than never I guess." He took another sip, and a drop ran the length of his whisker. "So, you're here about that? I guess the day was bound to come sooner or later… Ah, no need to explain, I already know why you want this knowledge."

There was a long and suspenseful silence, before Korrin pulled out two bells.

"Chiaotzu, take Yamcha with you too. Kami wants to see him. Have fun up there. Once you earn Kami's approval, I'll teach you the secrets of the Senzu Bean."

"Thanks Master Korrin! This will help a lot!"

Yamcha, opened his eyes, looking at the bell in his lap… "Am I really worthy of meeting with Kami?"

"Oh get over yourself already. Stop making this all about you, and let's go! Time wasted, is another life that could be lost."

With a spark in his mind, he stood up putting the bell away. "Thank you, Master Korrin."

"My pleasure. Now go on and get outta here."

Chiaotzu and Yamcha left Korrin's and started flying directly up. Chiaotzu was completely unphased by the flight, nor the dangerous tests that awaited them. Yamcha on the other hand, felt like he was being tossed through a blender. He also noticed that Chiaotzu was so much faster than he was.

"I used to be stronger than him, but now look at me. I've been reduced to such a pathetic excuse for a man… If anyone should have had to die that day, it should have been me. Bosa really didn't deserve that. Bulma didn't deserve it… No one did… And Ushichi, she clearly loved Bosa. Those two are really close friends, I won't be surprised if…" He shook his head, realizing that Chiaotzu was gone. "Hmm? Is he really that much faster than me?"

Chiaotzu had arrived at Kami's lookout. He was welcomed by Mr. Popo & Kami.

"Ah, Chiaotzu, you made it. Good, I know this isn't exactly what you wanted, but those beans are powerful magical items. I can't just let such knowledge go without you proving yourself first."

"Kami, thank you for helping my nephew, Bosa. It means more than you know."

"Ahahaha, now then. Would you like to watch Yamcha? He has a terrible weight upon his shoulders as a result of his actions up to this point. So his ascent will be incredibly difficult. One could call them demons of the heart. He must purge them, or come to terms with them. And it seems like he has decided to take the honorable option. This might take a day or two. I'll inform Bulma about what's going on in the meantime."
