It was already nighttime at Zed City; Almond stood by the balcony, gazing at the shining stars that decorated the night sky. He kept thinking of the information Nicholas gathered about his arranged bride-to-be; although the lady was quite pretty, no denial, but it's not all about a beautiful face. He couldn't even see any reason why his grandfather insisted on her being the chosen one for him.
Yes, he knows he has no interest in any lady at the age of 33 and was even cold-blooded, but he couldn't help it; watching both of his parents die before his eyes at a very tender age has traumatised him, and he can never get used to it in this lifetime, not to talk of his grandfather's now and another burden into his hands to take care of.Jayden? Jayden! I hope she's truly like a jade and not all beautiful with no sense; heard she's also not taking this lightly and still feels blue about this whole marriage saga, hmmm Almond sighed. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and see how much she fares in this trying time, he says and walks inside.
He walked away from the balcony, entering the room even though everything was dark; he was still able to walk around into the restroom without hitting anything on the way. He only turned on the light when he got inside; he put his phone on the phone stand so he could take a proper shower and rest for the night. Knowing his phone is waterproof doesn't mean he didn't have to take any preventive measures in case of an accident.
BHe spent about fifteen minutes inside to get the refreshment he wanted, walking out with only his bathrobe, holding his phone and blow-drying his hair. Almond entered the walk-in closet, put on his nightwear, got in the bed, only for his thoughts to drift back to his pending marriage matter. He decided to inform his P.A. to schedule a proper meeting with the young lady or, better still, a blind date so they could get to know each other properly and see if it would work out.
He texted his P.A., Nicholas, to get the plane ready so they could fly back early the next day for the board meeting. He turned off the bedside lamp while massaging his aching head with furrowed eyebrows; he closed his eyes to welcome another night of battling with sleep and nightmares.
The city of Jinnah
Even though Jayden doesn't question her parents' love for her, she still feels that she is old enough to make her own decisions. She is seen wandering around her bedroom with her hand on her waist, not being able to fall asleep, and wondering what they stand to gain from this situation. She continued grumbling and moaning, attempting to divert her attention with her phone but failing. She decided to head to her kitchen to try if it would help to stuff her tummy.
My goodness, it's unbelievable that I didn't eat at all because I was so distracted throughout the day. That had been a hectic day. She did not even remember to stock the refrigerator, as if all of this wasn't enough. Now, what should I eat? Her stomach continued to growl, as though to remind her that she needed to eat, and she continued to complain.
For Jayden, what she thought was merely motivation to keep going; otherwise, she wouldn't even know what would happen. She got up, made the decision to eat some snacks, and attempted to order dinner online for her to get through tonight and put aside any other problems that might be impeding her mood.
Even though her order was only chicken and chips, she still preferred it to eating nothing in case of an emergency at night. It arrived in a few minutes, and as she already had some time off today and didn't want to take it easy just because it's her own company, she prepared for the next day's job after eating her meal with some chilled lemonade and watching some films to help her relax. She took a shower, went inside for a restful night's sleep, and called it a day.
