Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: I Awaken

I feel so…dizzy. I hear a voice in my head, but this one is different, it is more godly. "My child, my poor strong child. You suffered so much, why do you keep getting back up."

I think. "I don't know. I just can't let the world end because we suffered in our past."

I feel a warm glow around me. "Well if you want to save the world from this danger, you could try to get Leon backup Leon. Come on get up, don't give up on humanity."

I was chained to a brick wall in front of a doorway. I walk closer, the chains are so strong. I pulled my body forward walking with lots of power, these chains were strong, but I was even stronger. I got closer to the door and one of the chains on my arms broke off, then another until all were off. I was mere inches away from the door until the voice gave me one more thing.

My body gleamed with light and darkness. "You will need this, you can handle the powers of a god."

My body was emitting dark. Over my body formed a strong plated exo armor suit, then turned into a dark blue color. I had the armor of a god, a guardian's mindset, and a good person's mind. A metal sheath formed on my back and two axes crossed on my back. They were black and blue edges. My chest was healing, and my eye bled metallic silver over it. My right eye was now covered over with a silver patch.

I walked through the door and woke back up. I was off the fence and heading back inside the church. I saw the portal behind the altar. Callum and Callith were not there; they must have gone to find a last offer. I tried to break the altar with my axes but it was strong, protected with a force field. Callum holding his scythes comes inside on his guard. He looks at me for a second confused.

Callum points his weapons at me. "Why aren't you dead? I even speared your skull."

I heard that voice last time. "Even if you're dark outside, you have a light on the inside, Leon."

Callum swings the blade at me, but I block it with my axe. I swing at his side and he blocks the attack too. I see out the window, Callith is watching the fight inside just standing there. I swing at his chest plate. The force causes the armor to crack. He swings at my head, the blade collides with my armor with a loud clang. My armor was far stronger, maybe indestructible even. Callum walks back unaware of what to do.

He talks to the altar. "Help me, what is wrong with him? Did you give him power?"

He responds. "You idiot, you killed him. Someone else gave him that power. Kill him now or he could ruin my freedom."

I grab Callum and pin him to the ground. "You made a big mistake brother. I will destroy that thing."

I swing the axes at his throat, it splits open, and black blood sprays out. He coughs up blood and gurgles, the blood reaches the altar. He started to get absorbed. I pull him away not wanting to kill him to close the altar. Callum crawls away from me. I follow him slowly from behind. He turns around and heals.

He looks at me and starts to laugh. "Thank you for giving him more power you idiot, you messed up a good time."

Before I could respond the altar exploded. The portal behind it starts to expand to a size that a whale could fit through. All of us look at the dark hole. A rumble is heard from inside, and a claw-like arm comes out.

The voice is no longer in our heads but now in the air. "Finally, I can enter your perfect little world. I will start by destroying everything man built."

He was a giant serpent-like creature with two arms with claws on each hand. He had three tails each with a blade at the end, then to grow an extra foot. His body is at least 60 feet long. His skin was like a shadow; he was dark, absorbing light. When he crawled on the ground, the world shook and corruption spread. He charged at Callum first.

He went on top of him with his claws sinking into his chest. "You failed to kill Leon, and you even thought I would give you power after my release. Now your death is heard waiting for you."

Callum swung the blade at his head, but it was soon swallowed. He was then eaten alive by the serpent, like a snake would. He charged me next and swung that tail at me. Each of the three blades struck my chest cutting my armor, but it just repaired itself.

Callith was just staring shocked at what he had just unleashed into the world. "What have I done, I doom the world."

I walk over to him avoiding the serpent. "You wanted this Callith didn't you? Well here you go, but there is still a way to stop this. Please work with me and maybe we can end this together."

He looks at me and gives me a hand. "Ok Leon, let's fix this, together brother."

We both charge at the serpent and swing our weapons at it. I managed to cut one of its tails off. He roars in pain and swings his other two at me. I dodged the blades, but they hit Callum and immediately impaled him. He looked down at where he was stabbed in the heels. He jumps onto its back and slices a long line from head to tail into its spine. He grows spines on his back and grows a new tail. This time he widens his jaw to swallow me. I gulped inside. The place was dark, but I cut my way out through the throat. The serpent bleeds and stops moving for a bit and then regenerates.

Callith begins to feel helpless. "We can't beat it, he will just keep regenerating."

I notice a keratin pattern in the blades of his tails. They were almost the same color as Callith's armor and Callum's when he was alive. He had no metal, just keratin. I remember seeing him bleed earlier, and that meant he could die. Anything that bleeds can most definitely die, but how?

I look at the tails, they seem to not regrow the blades at the end, but only the tail itself. Each blade was probably how it regenerates, each blade was for each of us. Callum died so that the blade represents him and defeats him. "Callith, if we cut off all his tails, maybe he won't regent no more and finally be taken down."

Callith nods at me and starts swinging at Ryoth's tail. One of the blades blocks the attract, sending Callith back a few feet. Ryoth charges at me with his big gaping mouth. Inside are these razor-sharp teeth that could blend up meat. I jumped out of the way.

I look shy and helicopters are hovering over the monster. Guns strapped to the bottoms are firing at it just making him angry. He jumps up and swings at the helicopter, causing it to crash next to me. The explosion sent me flying, the force was so powerful yet I was standing fine and unharmed. A missile comes out of nowhere and more than one starts crashing into Ryoth.

I take my chance on his vulnerability to chop off all three tails. They fall to the ground and he roars, and the tails don't regenerate. Callith starts to smile at me. "You bright genius, you were right, now all we need to do is finish him off."

Me and Callith jump into his back cutting at his spine. Ryoth starts to weaken and moves less and more slowly until he stops moving completely. The last thing it does is exhale and decay fast. I wanted to make sure it was dead so I chopped his head off.

I and Callith walked towards the nearby force ahead and put our hands up, we accepted what came our way and would stick together to get through it.
