Chapter 172 -  Is the Sky Crying?

Sunday understood Anming's ideal.

They had once been family, fighting side by side—but only as long as Robin's happiness was assured.

A paradise of ideals. What beautiful happiness.

But if Robin could no longer smile from the heart, what was the point?

"When... did we grow so far apart?" Sunday gazed at the artificial sun, sighing.

How many goodbyes did it take to numb the heartache? His chest ached. No matter the outcome, they could never return to what they were.

Anming, now godlike, stood above all—judging the world's evils, reshaping Penacony's false dreams into Eden's foundation.

Sunday refused to believe Anming would harm Robin. No one knew better how deeply Anming cherished her. After himself and their mother, Anming loved Robin most in this world.

That tenderness in his eyes couldn't be faked. Otherwise, Sunday would never have blessed their bond.

"Anming, to me, our first home was the real Eden."

That past was gone forever. The house brimming with laughter—Robin's singing, Anming's piano—would never echo again.

Family artillery turned skyward. Capital ships charged their cannons.

Yet Anming's body grew translucent, wings burning to ash in golden flames.

Black. White. All scattering before his eyes.

Is this true happiness? Father, Mother... did I become what you hoped?

His soul frayed, leaving only obsession.

A hundred beams lanced toward the sun—

"Anming."

"ANMING—!"

Amid the inferno, white wings unfurled, shielding him. Robin cradled his shattered face.

"Robin...?"

In his crumbling mind, she appeared—eyes still bright with hope.

"How could I be happy without you?" She held him tightly, soaring higher. "Home is wherever you are."

"Come back."

"You've fought enough. Rest now, fool..."

Her tears fell on his cheeks. His fractured halo stabilized at the last moment.

Anming wiped her tears. "Don't cry, my little bird." In his final moments, he understood something simple:

The world never changed for one person.

All he needed to protect was Robin.

His flaming wings transferred their golden light to her palms.

With a chime, his halo shattered—dusting her wings like stardust.

They'd come so far. Far enough to forget their beginnings.

His true Eden had been hers all along.

The sun fell. Harmony's light blazed.

"Goodbye, Robin."

"If it's you... I know you can."

Eden existed nowhere.

Everyone's paradise was different.

But as long as they walked together through darkness, hand in hand—

Eden would never fade.

It lived in their hearts.

His soul dissolved into golden motes, merging with her wings—lifting her from despair.

Warm feathers fell like rain, healing wounds, restoring what was lost.

Like waking from a dream—only tearstains remained.

"It's Robin!"

"Robin saved Penacony!"

"The glorious Robin returns to her loyal planet!"

Cheers erupted. Cameras flashed. Within hours, her heroics would trend galaxy-wide.

Robin stared at the black feather in her palm—then let it go, flying toward the sky.

She still had someone to meet.

Kakipe Ruins

Familiar piano notes drifted from the derelict concert hall.

After the collapse of the memory-realm, vines now wound through broken beams. Robin picked her way inside.

The melody grew clearer—unchanged from years past.

Sunlight poured through the collapsed ceiling, spotlighting the boy at the decrepit piano.

Somehow, it still played. Under his fingers, rot became magic.

The song ended.

Robin applauded softly from the front row.

Little Anming bowed.

"You never really wanted to create Eden, did you?"

"Why do you say that?"

"You chose Penacony. Not Kakipe."

She finally understood. Penacony had been one grand performance.

Had he truly sought Eden, he'd have rebuilt Kakipe first—not the land of fake dreams he despised.

"I carved this last shred of humanity from the crumbling divinity... to say goodbye." He offered his hand. "You're right. I never wanted Eden."

"But I succeeded."

"Wherever you are... that's Eden."

Robin was the hope. The spark. The true paradise.

As long as she walked forward, happiness would follow.

Tears glimmered in her eyes. "But without you... how could I be happy?"

"You'll find me."

"Huh?"

"When I touched 'godhood,' I saw the future."

He clasped her hand. "We'll meet again."

"Now... sing for me one last time, little bird."

The piano resumed. Robin tilted her head back, refusing to let tears fall.

Facing the empty seats, she almost saw them again—

Smiling at her.

"Raindrops fall one by one"

"Rainbows arch the sky's blue home"

"Is the sky crying too~?"

The piano played on. But when she turned—

He was already gone.

Robin bowed to the vacant hall.

Drops pattered the stage.
