"She... well, I don't know, the last time I saw her she told me she had something important to do," Huanca lets out a slight snort of sadness after speaking.
"I mean, Erika was... hot, hehehe," Huanca lets out a slight laugh, "We didn't know each other very well, however, she even went to bed with me, there was... something special," Huanca makes a slight silence, I can hear the sound of her footsteps relaunching.
I turn slightly back to look at Huanca, he is frowning, his eyes slightly red as he looks up.
"Wasi... that was weird, Erika was... different, I mean, a bit more like a doll than a person," Huanca sighs lightly after speaking.
I for my part simply observe Huanca, I smile slightly before looking at his white hands.
"Your hands are very cold, although well, it's not something I really intend to know why at the moment.." I look Huanca in the eyes after speaking, he simply smiles back at me before continuing down the stairs.
"Since when are we friends?" Huanca asks as he walks down the stairs in front of me, "I don't remember exactly, but, I think it was when we first arrived at the barracks...", Huanca mumbles, I walk behind him.
There was a slight moment of silence in which only the sound of our footsteps echoes in the place.
"The first time was a time when one could feel the melancholy in the barracks, no one had hope for their future, well, I guess they don't now either, hahaha," Huanca laughs out loud,
"That's right, I forgot, superior Clarity has divided us into groups of two people to go out once a week to explore the woods outside the barracks..." Huanca lets out a slight macabre laugh after speaking.
"Do you want to know who you're going to group with to go out of the barracks?" Huanca asks with slight expectation in his voice.
"Not really..." I simply shake my head in response.
"Tsk... well, I'll tell you anyway, your comrade, rather groupmate is Kaero..." Huanca claps her hands a couple of times after speaking as if he's celebrating.
I'm not really surprised, Clarity must be waiting for me to take that opportunity to leave the barracks to explore the forest surrounding the barracks to... of course, make Kaero fall in love with me.
However, I squint my eyes slightly, Didn't Clarity say something related about the forest and the position of the barracks?
Ah, I forgot.
After talking a couple more times with Huanca, I simply return to my room.
It's been a short day, I really want to just rest for a week in a soft bed, but, I be satisfied with this hard bed for the moment.
In my room I lie down on my bed before falling asleep.
...
"Wasi, Are you awake?" a girl's voice wakes me up, opening my eyes slightly I can see a beautiful face smiling at me.
Kaero.
"You've woken up, how nice, now, you need to get dressed soon, we need to go explore the surrounding forest and file a report to the superior Clarity..." Kaero mumbles lightly as she pushes one of my shoulders.
As I stand up Kaero seems to be in high spirits and keeps looking at me with a bright smile.
"By the way, I have to put on my combat clothes, Aren't you going out or would you rather stay and watch?" suddenly I make a joke as I look at Kaero.
For her part Kaero watches me for a moment before bursting out laughing loudly.
"Hahaha!!, Wasi, Wasi, I'm not surprised I rejected your confession of love earlier, but, if you didn't notice yet, I have a boyfriend," Kaero smiles brightly.
"What I mean is, if my boyfriend finds out that you stripped in front of me, then he will kill you..." Kaero puffs out her chest, proudly.
Well, it's not like her boyfriend was even present here, anyway I just dragged Kaero out of the room before putting on the classic barracks outfit.
...
Some time later.
"This task in groups of two is simply to grade your teamwork and reaction to problems in the real world...", in the training camp Clarity gives a short speech.
In summary, the mission to explore the forest is not important in itself, but what matters is the teamwork, the survival skills of the recruits and above all, the improvisation, this day, you will look for your breakfast and lunch outside..
Also, you are forbidden to return to the barracks until well after sunrise, which would be surviving and getting food in the twelve or more hours you are outside.
After a few words of encouragement from Clarity, she leads us out of the barracks.
The barracks has a large cast steel door several meters high and several meters wide, this door opens to the side to reveal the virgin forest outside.
In fact, I'm a little curious as to how a gigantic door like that at least half a meter thick could be opened, I mean, it must weigh a lot for the gears.
But then I remember that magic exists in this world so I just shake my head.
...
"We should set up a small trap for small animals not too far from the barracks," I say, Kaero to my right purses her lips slightly before opening her mouth.
"Actually, I'd like to do something with you..." Kaero smiles at me.
I watch her, her smiling and kind expression doesn't reveal any of her intentions, I can't figure out what she's trying to tell me, so, I simply remain silent.
After we walk for a while deeper into the forest and there is no other person near us, Kaero finally speaks.
"Do you remember the legend of the radio and transmigration?" Kaero asks.
"Your existence here proves to me that the legend is true, I mean, at least I can think that but not say for sure, so, if we start from the point that the legend is true, Could other legends be true?" Kaero says quietly as the two of us walk alone through a virgin forest.
"Which legend specifically?", I can't help but ask, slightly curious.
Kaero observes her surroundings with some excitement before looking me in the eyes.
"In a dilapidated wooden hut in the middle of a forest a woman was buried, her remains lie inside the hut, her soul lingers in her bones, she has been wandering the world for a long time, and her soul can tell you some secrets about the world and the universe..."
Kaero looks at me seriously after speaking, I also look at her, I squint my eyes before looking away.
"I really don't like being hungry," I mutter, ready to put an end to Kaero's stupid proposal.
However, Kaero smiles, she whistles slowly, catching my gaze, the ring on Kaero's little finger glinting slightly.
Then, various types of food appear in front of her, food that looks delicious and arranged on small plates with a light transparent layer covering them.
"Actually, I have all the food you could ever want, no need to hunt, then, then..." Kaero smiles brightly.
"Did I look for that hut in this forest with me?" Kaero asks, her eyes twinkling slightly.
"Hmph..." I smile at the end of my babble.
"More than finding that hut, I would relatively like to know who you are, I mean, Who you are in the kingdom...", at my question Kaero waves her hand again and all the food in front of her disappears.
Kaero gives me a slight signal with her finger and touches her red lips to make me be silent before walking in a specific direction.
...
Some time later.
"I like this environment, trees, vegetation, and a light almost invisible mist covering everything..." Kaero mutters as she leads the way in a direction unknown to me.
Maybe I should have refused, after all I don't know who Kaero is exactly, the ring on her finger and all that food, but, she has something that makes me want to follow behind her, walking and watching her, her movements, her slight smile and her hair moving with the wind, all while a light rain wets her.
"Reminds me of a somewhat pleasant place..." I say with a smile remembering the terrarium in my dreams.
Kaero says nothing, instead, she continues to lead the way through the lush forest.
We came to a small river, a lake where some harmless animals were drinking and we found several strange trees.
However, we did not find any dilapidated wooden hut.
When I got hungry I simply ate Kaero's food along with her, making a few small jokes from time to time as the end of the day approached, we started to return to the barracks.
"What clues do we need to follow to find that dilapidated wooden hut?", I ask as I walk behind Kaero.
"Well, I don't really know, the people was said that if you search for it with a true desire to find it and please the soul of the woman trapped in her own bones, she would guide you to the dilapidated wooden hut herself," Kaero mutters with some tiredness.
I watch Kaero's back for a moment before moving a little closer to her.
"Why do you want to find that hut?", my question is sincere, I'm really interested to know why Kaero would look for something like that.
