The questioning continued till morning, the details and pin point questioning made Silver sleepy, but there wasn't he could do about it. The sun was at the dusk when, he was freed with a pouch of gold as compensation.
Not caring much for it though Silver set his sights to his apartment drifting through the streets, trying to navigate his way back. He stayed up full nights many time before, but this one more sleepy than of them all.
Soon, between the sound of old people going for a walk, old ladies having a gossip, some shop owner opening and cleaning the front of the their shops. The city was well and active, but Silver want to embrace to blanket and sleep.
Soon, the apartment was right ahead of him, he had to take some help from nearby shop owner to reach here, he stepped inside where there was a different receptionist was standing at the counter.
"Oh! Mr. Silver Ventirose. It seems you seem quite tired, should I help you to your room, perhaps you settle down on the first floor itself." The boy was quite young, but with sweet tongue.
"No, I can go my room. You won't find me at the stairs. Also.... don't mind I'll ask tomorrow."
The security of the city was no joke, there was no chance that anyone would have tried to enter his room, and gotten past the security. There were constant checks by the waiters, and caretakers for each room.
Silver stepped on the room's door, stood there. He kept standing, and just stood there....then he kept standing there. You would think he will knock at the door, but nope... he just stood there.
"They should open soon..."
After a good 15 minutes of observation of the great door, Silver finally came to his senses.
"Wait, I need to knock at the door."
Seraphina's room, was right next to the entry door, she should listen to the knock on the door.
Silver knocked the door, but there was no answer to the call. He knocked again, but there was no answer once again. He kept knocking but there was no answer.
"Sera? Are you in there? Sorry, I was late, can you please open the door for me."
At the next knock, he heard the door open, and took a breath of relief.
"Welcome back."
"Lisa? What are you doing here?"
Instead of his niece he was greeted by a the beautiful doctor, with a sleepy look on her face, in her pajamas. She singalled him to come inside and so did and took a seat at the sofa in the main lobby. Lisa soon joined him, bringing a glass of water and she kept it on the table.
"Your niece invited me over. She came to my clinic, and asked if I could stay over the night since you were coming home. I thought since you left for some work, you might be late. That's why I slept here instead of reporting to the guards till today morning."
Silver nodded took a slip of water from the glass, " What were you up? It took you awhile to get back here?" Lisa asked.
"I was caught up in some legal trouble. Thank you for taking care for my niece, you cannot be more helpful than this."
"No, no... I got to spend some time with Sera too. She was was very keen on learning things, and gets' very weird ideas. Today she was surprised to hear that people only live till a hundred at the best, but she was like "NO! People live at least 500 years."
There were some things about the days they talked about, Lisa talked about how hard medical education has become due to increasing diseases and new types of insects.
"Life has gotten much worse, just the last year there 3 new types of diseases found in some areas, I don't think this any good for humanity if this keeps up. There should be more decisions."
"Sure...sure. You should take care of yourself, I don't want to you to get any disease in any form."
"Oh... thank you for caring that much. I think you should sleep too."
"I think I should too."
Silver departed to his room, leaving Lisa at her place. He opened his door, and laid straight on the bed. Smiling and smirking all the way.
"I wish she wasn't so nice and beautiful, I can't even thinking doing something dirty to her now." grabbing a pillow from the side into his arms, Silver drifted away into a healthy sleep.
---
The next morning came to Silver at afternoon, there was probably a lot of noise in the house. When Silver's eyes opened, he saw bread and tea lying on his on table on the center of this room.
He got up from his slumber and sat upright, cracking joints and doing stretches. He walked up to the bread and took a bite, and drank up the tea to get his mind straight. The noise was constant, something running all over the entire house it seemed.
"What is going on?" The sun was shining bright, so it was probably noon ( I will mention it again) and sometime just thought it was perfect to run around the house. " The people living at the floor below are going to come and complaint soon."
Silver put on his white cloak, and set his white hair straight before opening the door.... but he thought putting on a little perfume might be nice too.
"Come here!"
Sera's noise was really loud this time, she seemed frustrated and loud surely.
Silver ran straight out of the room, "What is going Sera?" slamming the door open.
In the main room, with the wooden cupboards, two tables, three sofas, white walls, painting on the walls and just an aesthetic of red and white in the room, and Sera was in the middle of it all, standing on top tables her eyes searching for something.
"Sera what are you doing?"
Sera turned her glare towards Silver, which sent him back. "Right there."
Sera jumped right at Silver, but he realised she wasn't going for him. There was something near his feet, so see a small rat trying to run away for it's dear life.
"..uuuhh."
Silver slipped right on the ground, with his back on the floor due Sera jumping on his legs.
"Caught you." The poor mouse was right in Sera's hands, and Silver worried what would Sera do with it.
"Sera, please don't eat it."
"Huh? Why would I eat something like this. Lady Lisa told me that, rats spread disease. Within a second, the rat in Sera's hands turned to ashes.
"What did you do?!"
"I killed him. He was going to spread more disease."
"No, how did you you kill that rat?"
"I don't know, I wanted to kill it so I did. I don't know how I did it."
"That is surely a sight to admire."
That Silver feared happened, the wind was blowing well today. Because, Shaska Zana was sitting elegantly at the window of the room, seeing the two with a smile with everything but good intent.
