"Ok chat we are going to come in contact with civilization." The system had a neutral expression on its monitor, floating up and down gently like a game menu, adjusting and make themself comfortable in its new form, when a giant question mark appeared in its "face".
"Who is this chat you refer to?" The hero pointed right at the center of them and poked repeatedly there very fast.
"That's how you shall be referred as for now on, since you're the one i will be chatting with my whole stay." Its touch was warm, and the poking was making slight buzz noises that reverbed in the system equivalent to a human mind, so it floated to his side and turned to a pointing arrow.
"The presence of a church of my god is towards this direction."
"Thanks chat, i appreciated it." The adventures always say thank you the first time around but it never sticks, they start to treat it more and more as a tool when they get party members.
At least, "Chat" felt like this adventurer was somewhat of a normal if a little more social ankward than the previous users despite first impressions.
The sounds of the leafs crunching beneath the feet of the hero were the loudest sound it could be heard at this very calming forest they were passing through.
While the wind was blowing and making their tops ruffle, the birds hummed and flew around taking the insects that were hanging around more at the top, while insects made some noise in at different distances.
As the most distant, less strategically desirable piece of land and with less magic flowing through its mana routes, this was the perfect kind of place to summon new heroes to any world.
"Chat is there any fruit trees around this place." The system flew up high and locked on in a tree with apple like fruits.
"I have located one, its that way." The hero immediately bolted to the way that was pointed, running with his arms parallel to his body while slightly leaning forward.
When he arrived he pulled his legs to his front and bent himself backwards, making a little skidding noise as it left a little trail where his feet dragged.
"Nice work chat!" With his thumbs up, he searched for mature fruits for some time before eating all he could find in one sitting, then putting one each in his pockets before running the same way back to where he was said to go.
"To be strong i defeat monsters right?"
"Yes, with each victory, you're given an amount of experience to raise your level, but your abilities can also be raised if you do it for a certain amount of time." The hero suddenly stopped at his tracks, making yet another skidding noise as a rabbit eating a different fruit was startled by his sudden presence before it.
"So i have to defeat this rabbit, is that right chat." The system showed its stats, but the hero did not break visual contact with the medium-sized rodent with a tiny horn in its forehead, that was checking him out also, standing in its lower legs as it tapped their feet on the ground repeatedly.
"Correct."
The animal was agitated, eyeing the tall human with its head pointed towards it so it could attack if it dared to approach its presence. As the hero peaced back and forth, the system accompanied it floating around his head, not sure of what the hold up was.
"Humumamamama..." the hero was mumbling under its breath, passing its fingers through his hair and crossing his arm, finally squatting down and looking at the rabbit in its eye, his eyebrows creasing as his lips wavered.
Rabbit had its legs tensed up and its warrior spirit high up, for as the biggest and most intimidating one of the area, it was for sure the one that could take down a human by its lonesome! It would for sure be named chief of the burrow!
"What's the problem? Are you afraid of being pierced?" The system knew that it was somewhat scary when you have to go up against a wild animal even back in the hero's native world, even if it didn't understood the feeling itself since it could not be harmed in any way.
"... it's impossible..." this could be a grave problem, the hero had no confidence! Even the ones that it lead before were willing to attack the rabbit in the first opportunity they could since it was such a weak creature, but it appeared they had to...
"That creature is way too cuuuutttteeeee!" The hero fell to his knees, his hands laying on the ground as he looked up in the sky with its eyes squinted and tears almost rolling.
Upon hearing these words, the system searched up its database of previous heroes to see if any of them showed any sort of mercy to monsters. They only showed it to creatures like monsters with higher sentience or humanoid females of other species.
The system decided it should stop treating this one as like one of these guys that wants to get powerful and have lots of girls, or those that wants to make themsleves distant from their past by indulging in hobbies, because this giy clearly wasn't one of them.
When this happened, the hero started itching its hair while adjusting his hair back with his hands, doing both at the same time to calm his heart from the fluffy ball of fur before him.
The rabbit still tensed up, it was calmly checking the behavior of the human. Unlike most other humans that it came across, it did not immediately started chasing it with pointy branchs and shining slabs of rock, but instead, it was cowering and grooming its fur down before it.
Of course, the human knew it stoof no chance and was begging to not be killed! Yes, as the strongest of the horned rabbits of course a defenseless human would beg for its mercy!
The hero straightened himself up with a big sigh and looked down at the rabbit that was making a curious pek pek pek sound, and with another blow to his heart, picked out one apple and rolled it towards the rabbit.
The system understood that the hero wanted to tame a rabbit to have it as a pet, but that wouldn't be quite the wise ideia since these rabbits were seen as a delicacy all around the region. However, it was not in his power to tell the user how to go about his journey, it was merely a tool.
"Chat is this rabbit delicious."
"Yes it is."
"Hmmmm..."
The rabbit slowly ate the apple that as given to him, the hero observed its features, the length of its fluffy ears and light black horn, the beady almost marble like eyes, its little pink nose, the fluffy cotton like tail and brown with light brown spots, the hero delighted the sight to his heart content, ignoring the pain it was feeling in the knees.
He could see it eat that fruit for the rest of his day, that's for sure.
When it was done eating, the rabbit slowly approached the hero and did the pek pek pek noise once again.
With the offering it received of the dark grey sweet fruit, the rabbit decided to show the human its benevolence by letting it groom its fur, as a sign of mercy and submission for the human to recognize its superiority.
The hero slowly approached its hand towards the rabbits head, with them proceeded to sniff and lick, each touch of the little tongue making the hero let out a little squeaky noise as he held back the need to gush over this little creature.
When he got back to his senses, the rabbit was laying on his lap as he petted and gently scratched its belly, which immediately made him want to go around jumping in pure blissful joy.
The system figured theh wouldn't be reaching the village as early in the morning as it had calculated they would.
