Valerie flopped onto her bed with a dramatic sigh, tossing a half-eaten piece of fruit into her bowl.
"You know," she said between bites, "for someone who once said she wanted nothing to do with my brother, you're doing a remarkably terrible job at avoiding him."
Odi, seated by the window, blinked. "Valerie, please"
Valerie raised an eyebrow, mischief gleaming in her eyes. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe the whispers outside? The ones about a certain scandalous tryst in the royal garden?"
Odi's face went crimson. "you would not stop talking about it, would you?"
"Odi, darling," Valerie drawled, tossing a pillow at her, "I haven't heard the details, but your face is telling me everything I need to know."
Odi covered her face with both hands. "Gods. I thought we were hidden. I just can't believe people saw us"
"Hidden? In the royal garden? No way?" Valerie snorted. "You might as well have left a trail of rose petals."
