BLACK SQUAD – EPISODE 93
Title: "The People vs. Black Squad"
Genre: Legal Thriller / Crime Drama
---
COLD OPEN – NIGHT, RAINING – A NEWS CLIP PLAYS
Footage plays on the news: A young man, Irfan Shaikh, 24, is shot dead in a metro station parking lot during a Black Squad sting 6 months ago.
His mother, Nilofer Shaikh, speaks to the press, crying:
> "He was innocent. They planted evidence. My son was going to be a teacher."
Voiceover from the reporter:
> "Today, a human rights activist has filed a criminal case against Black Squad. The charge? Murder."
Cut to: Court Summons being served.
Qazi looks at the paper.
Fade to BLACK.
---
ACT 1: ACCUSED IN UNIFORM
The courtroom is packed. Cameras. Protesters outside.
Qazi, Imran, Arjun, Zoya — all summoned.
Black Squad has never stood as defendants before.
The Charge:
> Section 302 IPC – Murder
Section 120B – Criminal Conspiracy
Violation of Police Protocol
The opposing lawyer: Advocate Sanaya Thakkar – young, sharp, and unrelenting. She believes the Squad is a "state-sponsored death squad."
---
ACT 2: THE EVIDENCE WAR
Day 1 of Trial
Sanaya presents:
CCTV footage showing Irfan with empty hands.
Lack of gunpowder residue on Irfan's hands.
Witnesses who claim "he was running away, not attacking."
An old audio clip of Arjun saying "Shoot if he moves."
Black Squad's lawyer, Rajiv Rastogi, is experienced but under pressure.
He defends:
Irfan was under surveillance for terror links.
A pistol was found 2 meters from the body.
The op was cleared by then DCP Shamsher Singh.
But Shamsher is dead. And the blame falls harder.
---
ACT 3: INTERNAL CONFLICT
Back at HQ — tensions rise.
Zoya:
> "If we fall here, they'll shut us down. No more raids, no more cases."
Arjun:
> "I shot him. But it was a judgment call. We can't prove it now."
Imran finds a breakthrough — the original informant who tipped them off that night: Wasim Jaffri, a paid intelligence source, now vanished.
Qazi sends Reet and Mayank to track him down before the trial ends.
---
ACT 4: A TWIST IN THE TALE
Day 3 of Trial
Sanaya now alleges the Black Squad fabricated the evidence — that the gun was planted.
As things go south, Reet finds Wasim — in hiding, scared.
Wasim confesses:
> "Yes, Irfan had a gun. He was supposed to meet someone. But I got scared. I disappeared."
Black Squad brings him to court.
He confirms Irfan had become a courier for a banned group.
He saw the gun. Irfan was reaching for it when shot.
Court goes silent.
---
ACT 5: THE VERDICT
Judge reviews both sides. The case is messy. But with Wasim's testimony and lack of malice proven, he delivers:
> "The court finds insufficient evidence to convict Black Squad of murder.
However, procedural failure is noted. Officers are instructed to undergo 10-day ethics retraining."
Outside, protestors scream. Media spins the result.
But the Squad walks out — emotionally drained.
---
EPILOGUE – NIGHT – HQ TERRACE
Qazi:
> "This job isn't just about catching monsters. Sometimes, the line blurs. But we don't stop walking it."
Imran:
> "What if one day… we cross it?"
Qazi (quietly):
"Then we turn around. And find it again."
Black Squad watches the skyline. Ready for the next case.
