Easton Holmes nodded, stood up, and walked toward Lily Turner, who was standing at the doorway. Seeing him approach, her first reaction was to turn and run, sprinting towards the door at the fastest speed. He followed leisurely, leaning against the door frame as he watched her run to the door. "Is this your idea of sincerity?"
He deliberately raised the tone of his words, as if questioning her, or perhaps expressing his dissatisfaction and displeasure with her.
By this time, Lily Turner had already reached the doorstep. Hearing Easton's somewhat peculiar questioning, she suddenly stopped in her tracks and slowly turned around to look at him standing at the doorway. "Mr. Holmes! Please give me a straight answer now. Do you agree or disagree with what I just said? If you disagree, I'll leave right away. I think you don't have the time to waste on this with me."
She could see it clearly; this man never intended to discuss matters with her; he came here purely to mock her.
