Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Bumped into

Lily Turner took the key out of her pocket and was about to open the door, only to find it ajar. She reached out and pushed the slightly open door fully.

Tomorrow was her wedding day, and this lavishly decorated house was her matrimonial home.

A few hours ago, her fiancé Henry Thompson had texted her to come here, promising her a big surprise.

She pushed the door open happily, but the scene that greeted her caused her joyful expression to freeze abruptly.

The spacious room was in disarray, with men's clothes, a woman's high heels, a dress, and even stockings littering the floor...

The clothes on the floor looked all too familiar, especially that dress and those high heels, which were hers but had been borrowed earlier in the afternoon by her best friend Jenny York.

A bad premonition surged through Lily's heart, her beautiful brow subconsciously furrowing as her feet followed the trail of clothes inside...

"...Henry..."

"Baby..."

As soon as she reached the bedroom door, Lily heard some unusual sounds from inside.

The voices of the man and woman were all too familiar to her, and those sounds felt like sharp daggers piercing her heart.

On the eve of her wedding, her fiancé and her best friend had betrayed her in the very home she had painstakingly prepared, and they had even summoned her to witness it.

"Henry... outside... it seems like there's a sound!"

"What sound... apart from me, you, and that actress, no one else has the key here."

"Actress?!"

Jenny York exclaimed sharply.

"She's an actress in the entertainment industry, of course she's an actress! Let's not talk about that disgusting woman now, it's nauseating." His tone was one of utter disdain.

Actress?! Disgusting woman?!

For loving him, she had almost lost herself.

In her second year of college, she'd participated in a modeling competition because he said he liked seeing her dressed glamorously on TV.

Just because he liked it, she gave up her dream of becoming a nurse to enter the complex world of entertainment, only to end up with this outcome.

Lily was so angry that her lips turned purple. She raised her hand to open the door and confront the heartless man, but the moment her hand touched the doorknob, she froze.

Standing at the door for a long, long time, she couldn't muster the courage to push it open.

Glancing dazedly at the European-style door in front of her, she turned and left, slamming the door shut as she exited.

Bam!

The loud slamming of the door startled the two entangled inside the room.

"Could it be Lily?!"

Jenny York looked at the man in panic, raising her hands helplessly, at a loss for what to do, but a hint of a triumphant smile flickered in her eyes.

In contrast to the woman's panic, Henry Thompson merely froze for a moment, showing not the slightest sign of alarm. "It's good if she's here; I didn't want to marry her anyway. She's always hanging around with those random men, who knows how many times she's cuckolded me."

"You..."

"Don't talk..."

The shameless pair inside continued their actions unabashedly. The woman who had run out didn't stop until she burst into the elevator, where she bumped into someone who had entered before her due to her hastiness.

"Ah!"

Was it a person or a wall?

Lily rubbed her forehead, which was sore from the collision, and looked up to see an unexpected, imposing figure appear in front of her.
