There were many choices.
So, which skill should he copy?
"I have a powerful offensive skill, should I copy a defensive or life-saving one? I've heard that the training assessment is a practical field test, and things can go wrong when dealing with Dreadbeasts"
Thinking of this, Simon looked at Tyler. His skill was all-rounder one, it's had defence, offence, and lifesaving capability.
"Guess I'll go with him"
Simon quietly replicated Tyler's skill and as he passed by the washroom, Simon deliberately touched his stomach. "Boys, nature calls, wait for me at the canteen"
"All right! just come over quickly!"
Ivan and Tyler did not suspect him as they left. Simon entered the washroom and locked the door. After he confirmed that there were no cameras, he issued the installation command.
Voooshh!
Although he experienced the pain before, but this kind of headache where his head seemingly melts and recreate itself was too much of agony.
Simon covered his mouth and forced himself not to scream as he endured the pain.
Ten minutes later the assimilation was complete and Simon wiped the cold sweat off his forehead with a pained expression. If he could, he did not want to go through the process again. But he never had any choices.
After a short rest, Simon tried out his newly- copied skill, with a thought, a hard spherical wall of air formed Infront of him which was floating.
Touching it, it felt like a soft but strong material which was also elastic everything was all made up of air.
Which Tyler used to bounce off to increase his speed every time he bounces off, he also used it as shield when he was in combat and throw it like a frisbee for long range attack.
After trying it out for few seconds, Simon left the washroom, meet up with his friends as if nothing had happened.
"Let's eat"
Simon bumped into someone while he ordered his meal, and indeed, he found that his skill was on cooldown.
"So, it'll be another two months before I can use it again!"
….
Training Area
"After two months of studies and practices, all of you have made some progress. Today, let's test it out briefly!"
During the afternoon training session, trainer Ethan Valor did not ask everyone to practice on their own as usual. Instead, he announced a test.
"The test is very simple. It will test your skills control" Etham glanced at everyone. "Let's see what level you have reached with the control over your skill!"
"Yes, Sir!"
"Now, which one of you would like to go first?"
"Me!"
12 of them looked at a tall teenager that stood out. He was Adam Swiftwell one of the three that have Fire Manipulation, who was true to his skill liked to show off.
"All right, you can go first!"
Trainer Ethan nodded.
Adam Swiftwell moved to the centre of the training ground, raising his right hand, with a roar, crimson flames surged out of his hand. The flame danced on his palm, and he could not feel any burning sensation.
"Go!"
Adam Swiftwell performed a hard ware, and the flame shot towards a target five meters away. However, just as it was a two meter away from its target, the flame lost his power, weakened and dissipated.
"The attack range is only three meters!"
Trainer Ethan looked at Adam Swiftwell. "A proper 1-Star Astral Lord has a range of five meters, you fell short, so you need to work hard!"
"Yes, Sir!"
Adam Swiftwell stepped back as he was embarrassed of his showboating did not achieve the desired effect.
"Next!"
Soon after, other showed off their own Skill one after another. Every one display of their skill was dazzling show.
However, as trainer Ethan commented, that everyone's control of their skill was very rough and the display their skill was no different that magic show on street.
"Next!"
The instructor looked at Simon and Ivan. They were the last two, and Ivan suddenly became nervous. He could not help but look at Simon.
"Okay, let me do it"
Simon walked to the centre of the training ground, and under everyone's gaze, he summoned flames on each his hands.
He pressed his hands together concealing the flame in his grip, from his outstretched hands he pulls back his right hands as if pulling string then from the left hand the flame burst out forming a bow and arrow.
Aiming the flaming arrow at the target he left the string.
Voooshh!
Piercing through the air, the flaming arrow hit the target.
It was not over yet, the moment the arrow pierced through the target, it blows up creating a massive explosion.
Sending shockwaves, destroying the target.
Moment later Simon dispersed the flame.
Clap, Clap, Clap!
Trainer Ethan led the applause and everyone else joined in when they saw it.
Trainer Ethan was full of praise. "Your control on your skill is quite proficient, to create a bow and an arrow, and accurately control it within five-meter radius, that to being that lethal! You showed the best performance so far, and I hope you can continue to work hard!"
"Thank you"
Simon had a polite smile, but he laughing in his heart because it was always good to hear compliment and show off.
"Simon, you're too amazing"
When he returned to the group, Ivan eyes were full of admiration.
"Ivan, you can also do it"
Simon patted Ivan on the shoulder.
"I will try my best"
Ivan took a deep breath and walked to the centre of the training room. Compared with Simon's Skilful and precise control, his mastery was just as clumsy as the rest…
After the rest, Ethan Valor commented, "this is it because you guys haven't been taking the class seriously? Or have you lot not practiced after work? In short, is all of you are still at this level after four months, I can only say that you will definitely be eliminated"
Eliminated!
Everyone was shocked when they heard that. It was an unacceptable result to them, regardless.
Once eliminated, they would lose everything that they got after they become an Astral Lord, from their villa, their salary, all of them would be taken back.
What was scarier was that the trial assessment was for entire base city, and everyone will be watch them and if they fail, no other organizations would take them.
The consequences were terribles!
"I have said everything that needed to said, so everything from this moment on will totally depend on you people"
"That's all. You should know what to do!"
