The smell of wet grass filled my nostrils, the coldness of the night made my mind more alert, and the feeling of the ground under my feet, of the contact with nature made me calmer.

With every step I took, the trees and bushes moved away from my path, showing the optimal path to the warehouse where the Satanists were.

Bending mana into the shape of glasses I placed them in my eyes, and my sight got magnified the more mana I pushed inside the glasses, a new spell I had copied from one of the sorcerers at Kamar-Taj, just changed it so I could use without needing spell circles.

New Spell: Nostradamus Sight Lv.MAX

---

I ignored the rest of the notification since I already knew what the spell did, and instead started counting the number of enemies I could see on the outside of the building.

It looks like they were mercenaries rather than actual magicians. The fact that they were holding machine guns gave them away. Also, the mana around their bodies was being produced and dispersed in the air and wasn't being controlled in any way.

Something I noticed was how magicians treated their enemies greedily and did everything they could to ensure as little mana waste as possible while casting spells. Seeing someone waste their mana like that meant they weren't magicians.

Before teleporting though I activated the Raven Rune and gave a closer look at the building, discovering the locations of traps and cameras while flying made me able to open a portal in the least surveilled area of the building.

Finally, inside I evoked Ivy as a scout, her being a plant made her quite silent, she now looked like the vines from the trees in the Amazonian forest, her length almost 5 meters, and she was also able to attach her body to walls and move like a snake, perfect companion for a stealth mission.

Going low I started sneaking through the building, my Perception helping me notice traps and enemies that were about to discover me, talking about enemies, I had my first kill, of a real human I mean.

He was blocking the only way forward, and using a portal would have made too much noise, so I had one last choice, something I have tried to not do until this point.

Ivy moved on the back of the Satanist, instantly crawling through his clothes going around his neck and placing herself in his mouth to make him unable to scream, what followed was the quickest kill of my life, mana bullet to the head, gone, the fear, the despair, the life, nothing remained, only empty glass-like eyes staring at me.

But I felt nothing, not because of my powers, but because this had to be done, and the guy had dug his own grave, the people who say killing is bad have never met danger in their whole life, I had never killed before, but I had been close, during the rough days as a hobo.

I hadn't felt bad before, I won't feel bad now, not when the person I killed was going to sacrifice kids only for stupid material goods.

Looking at the body for another minute, I stored it inside my inventory, making Ivy absorb the blood from the ground to not leave any evidence, and continued my search for the kids, nothing would stop me.

There were other encounters, but luckily they were stupid enough to not make guards make patrols in groups of two and instead were always alone, thanks to Ivy the kills were easy enough to eliminate them silently and quickly.

After 1 hour of searching the building, I finally found where they kept the kids, my anger was close to exploding when I saw them, malnourished, some having scars, and yellow and purple bruises.

What made me certain I would kill everyone in the building was a little girl, no more than 6 years old, laying on the ground like a lifeless body, white stuff coming out of her lower parts, both of her legs and arms removed, leaving behind just a piece of meat with no mind, I had to check her pulse to make sure she was alive.

I had a mouth but I couldn't scream, I wished for blood but I couldn't take it, I wanted to destroy everything and I will, but saving them is more important for now.

" Who are you? Please don't hurt us." A low masculine voice said from inside one of the cages, his voice came out strained because of the visible absence of food and water, he was the oldest of the bunch, barely 10, putting his body in front of the others, looking at the girl in front of me with worry.

Seeing his attempt at heroism I smiled, tears risked coming out of my eyes, but I remained stoic, steeling my mind and stopping my emotions, finally calm I rose from the ground and summoned a portal to Kamar-Taj, the warmth from the other side making all the kids tremble just a bit less from the cold night.

" I am here to save you, go to the other side and you will be safe, no more harm will ever happen to you."

I felt my charisma work to the extreme to make me able to express safety through my words, my skills working overtime, and my powers bending under my control for the first just to make sure these kids would listen to me and go to a safe place.

The kids ran, it was the logical thing, compared to a dark cold small room they to a warm sunny open space and told me which one was better.

The older kid made sure everyone walked through, helping the weaker ones to walk through, and then only me, the girl, and he remained.

I looked at the girl, my anger spiking once again at the visible torture she had to go through, she was 6 or even younger for God's sake, how could anyone do this to someone so young?

" Take her to safety." My voice came out even, but my emotions were anything but that.

He nodded, quickly raising her from the ground, her body frail like a doll, and for the first time I saw her eyes move, she looked straight at me, her eyes piercing my soul like a sword, a single tear coming out of her right eye.

That was the last thing I saw before closing the portal.

And then hell broke loose.
