[I can access some of her memories, host. But I don't have real-time access to her thoughts like I do with you. Our bond is quite unique, host.]
The system's laughter finally subsided, replaced by a hint of curiosity in her words. A faint smile seems to escape jake lips as he stared at the system in awe.
Over the years, he had seen a lot of weird stuff that he couldn't just get along with. But damn! He was literally getting used to the worst of them all–his freaking system.
His eyes narrowed as he flashed back from his amusement, something suddenly dawn on him. The system said 'our bond!'
How?
"What do you mean by 'our bond'?" Jake quickly asked, turning around to face the system.
[Oh! By that I mean, you're my host, Jake. I was designed to assist and guide you through your mission. Our connection allows me to access your thoughts, memories, and emotions. It's like a symbiotic relationship, host.]
The system's voice was sounding so factual, but Jake sensed a hint of pride behind her words. She was the only one enjoying this symbiotic relationship, as matter of fact. He wasn't enjoying any freaking thing, in all this bullshit!
Jake shook his head in dismay, trying to wrap his mind around this whole concept shit. He was so tired of it "I don't like this honestly. It feels like an invasion of privacy."
[I apologize if it makes you uncomfortable, host. But it's necessary for our mission. Now, let's focus on getting you out of here. We have a lot of work to do.]
The system's tone suddenly turned business-like, and Jake sensed a hint of impatience in her voice. She seems to be using him and it didn't fell well with him.
He clenched his fists around the cold metal, tightly, frustration eating away at him. He just wish there was a way he could skip all of this whole bullshit missions and go home.
Admist that thought; mia's face suddenly popped into his mind again, and he felt a pang of longing from nowhere.
He missed her terribly. But the weird thing was that he didn't know why. He had just know her for a day now or so, why can't he just forget about her and move on?
Why missing her so badly?
"Am I in love?" Jake asked aloud, his voice was laced with incredulity. His eyes instinctively fell at the cold metal before him; It seems to be reflecting Mia's face, smiling at him.
Fuck!
"No…..no….no…no….no…no…
this is crazy man. Love at first sight? Seriously?" Jake asked aloud. He didn't even know he said that aloud.
[What are you thinking, host?]
The system's voice cut through his thoughts which jolt him back to reality. His eye brow seems to raised in amusement as he turned to face her. A wry smile spreading across his face.
"Shut up. You damn well know what I'm thinking about." Jake said, a slight chuckles escaping his lips as he turned away his face from his system. A hint of nervousness surging all over his body.
[Ha! You got me] she chuckled too. Her blurring shapeless form suddenly morphing into a symbol of love. She even added a colour to it–red.
Jake couldn't help but laugh at it. It was really hilarious.
"Seriously? You're a jerk," Jake said, shaking his head, still chuckling.
[It's a fact host. You know that, and maybe she does too.]
"Wait! She do? Seriously?"
[Nah! Just kidding. I really don't know about hers] the system said, her voice was laced with amusement as she suddenly turned back to her blurring shapeless form.
Jake exhaled, running his hands through his scattered hair. He knew he was damn falling for Mia, so bad. It was a fact. From the moment he woke up in this strange weird world and saw her beautiful face, he knew he had been hooked. Jeez!
Her menacing voice, her stoic look, her fierce determination, her boldness, her beauty, her curves... Damn! Everything about her was attractive. Maybe that was why he was badly missing her.
He took a deep breath, trying to push aside his reservations. But damn! It wasn't working. He was madly in love now. Like hell!
"Does Mia have a boyfriend in Earth 503?" Jake asked suddenly, he was a bit shaking. The question seems to have tumbled out of his mouth. It was almost as if someone forcefully push out the question from his tongue.
[From my analysis, Mariana Rogers Wyne, isn't in any form of relationship, according to her status.]
Jake's eyes suddenly lit up with curiosity.
Status? Have heard that before.
"Wait! She has a statues? Damn, Show me." Jake demanded, curiosity screaming out of his voice as he glared in anticipation to see her statics.
