Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Playing Minecraft 2

"Another achievement? Oh, so that must be the hunger indicator," he said, noticing that the hunger bar near the hearts had filled up again.

"Now that I've gotten the items, what am I supposed to do? Am I just going to keep breaking stuff?" Zeddy muttered in confusion.

Uncertain about his next step, he approached another oak tree and began chopping it down.

He repeated the process and, after finishing with his fifth tree, he glancedat his hotbar. He saw that he had gathered a decent amount of resources.

[Oak Log 36] [Sticks 6] [Apple 9] [Oak Saplings 8] [Dirt 4]

"Is this game all about breaking stuff and placing blocks?" Zeddy muttered, a bit bored.

Just as he was about to head toward another tree, he accidentally pressed E instead of W, and a new panel appeared on the screen, leaving him dumbfounded.

"Huh? What's this?" he murmured, eyes widening in surprise.

In front of him was a 2x2 crafting grid. He tried clicking on the empty squares, but nothing happened.

"Now I'm utterly confused. Did the developer forget to include a tutorial for this as well?" he growled in frustration.

And he was right, Jeff had indeed forgotten to add a tutorial, leaving it entirely up to the players to figure things out for themselves.

Live Chat:

[Lol: Good Luck Lol!]

[RobGod: Maybe it's a code or puzzle?]

More and more messages began to flood the chat, as viewers tried to help solve the mystery.

[You received $15 from FireLancer: "I think it's a place to put the items where you gathered those items."]

Seeing these words appear on the screen, Zeddy wasn't the only one enlightened, the rest of the viewers seemed to catch on as well.

"Hmm, thanks for the heads-up, dear viewers. Let me try," he said, responding to the donation as he followed the suggestion.

With that, he dragged the oak log into the 2x2 grid and placed it there. From the arrow on the side, likely indicating the result as a different block appeared.

When he clicked it, all 36 of his oak logs disappeared, replaced by 144 wooden planks, now occupying three slots in his hotbar.

[Achievement Unlocked: First Craft]

"First what… So this is how to play it," Zeddy muttered in amazement, not realizing it actually worked like this.

The viewers, equally surprised, filled the chat with excitement and curiosity.

"How about I try putting all four of this wood..." he said, dragging and placing four wooden planks into the crafting grid.

A new item appeared in the result slot.

He took the item and moved the cursor over it in the hotbar. The name of the item was displayed:

[Crafting Table]

"A crafting table? So it's actually a survival game where you're supposed to mine blocks and craft stuff, huh," he muttered in realization.

"Now I understand why it's called Minecraft. What a smart guy," Zeddy praised, genuinely impressed.

The uniqueness of the game was through the roof.

As a seasoned gamer who had played countless games, this was the first one that had ever surprised him like this.

Live Chat:

[RAMRaider: WAIT. MINE… CRAFT… MINECRAFT??]

[ByteSnax: BROOO I JUST GOT THE NAME TOO WHAT!!]

[SnackDealer: This game was literally built, DIFFERENT]

"Why don't we make some experiments first? What happens if I try this..."

He then dragged a single wooden plank into the center of the 3x3 grid. A new item appeared in the result slot, long and thin.

"Ahh, so this is how to make a stick. I thought it was unique to those trees," he muttered in surprise, dragging the [Stick] into his inventory.

"Is there like… a weapon in this world?" Zeddy wondered,

His voice trailed off as he leaned closer to the crafting table, curiosity growing in his eyes.

He stared intently at the grid. His fingers moved, almost instinctively.

Two wooden planks placed one above the other, and a single stick in the center bottom slot.

A new item appeared in the result box, its shape unmistakable.

Literally a perfect vertical line.

Click

The moment he placed the last piece, the result changed.

[Wooden Sword]

The blade icon shined ever so slightly in the result slot.

"Wait. No way. Did I just—?" He clicked it, the sword dropped into his inventory.

"Yo… I just made a sword. On my first try." His eyes widened, and his character held it up proudly in slot 1.

"That was it? That actually worked??"

"Okay, this game is way deeper than I thought."

Live Chat:

[ByteSnax: ZEDDY ACTUALLY CRAFTED A SWORD IN HIS FIRST TRY??]

[BitRage: GAMER INSTINCT GOES HARD]

[HollowPurple: Bro was born to play this game]

[ChunkyPixel: Weaponized wood. Let's go.]

[You received $50 from FireLancer: "Congratulations for crafting Zeddy, now that you have craft a sword doesn't that mean theirs going to be an enemy?"]

Reading the gifter's message, Zeddy paused, likely he was deep in thought, realizing that the viewer might actually be right.

"Thanks for the donation, FireLancer, and what you said is right…" he began, but his words trailed off as he noticed the screen growing darker.

He quickly clicked on the brightness settings, but nothing changed.

"Huh? Is my PC broken? Don't tell me it really has a virus?" he muttered, concern creeping into his voice.

"Ahh, wait, it's actually turning nighttime," he said with a silly laugh as he finally noticed the setting sun.

His goofy reaction made the viewers burst into laughter as well, thoroughly entertained by his clueless charm.

At that moment, his viewer count soared to 900k, nearly a million people, all watching him, captivated by the game and his commentary.

"Dang, it's so darn dark," Zeddy growled as he carefully moved away from the densely wooded area.

Suddenly, a low, choking growl echoed through the trees. He froze in place, every instinct alert.

Live Chat:

[RobGod: WHAT WAS THAT SOUND]

[RAMRaider: I THOUGHT THAT WAS MY STOMACH]

[NullByte: NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.]

[DiddyOil: Bro don't move. It hears movement.]

[GremlinQueen: I'M WATCHING THIS AT NIGHT WHY WOULD I DO THIS]

[404Vision: WHY DID THAT SOUND LIKE IT WAS IN MY ROOM]

Zeddy's hand hovered over his hotbar. The wooden sword was equipped, but at this moment, it suddenly didn't feel like enough.

"Uh… chat?" he whispered, eyes darting as he scanned the dark shadows weaving between the trees.

Another breathy gurgle echoed, this time louder, and closer.

It came again, wet and deep, sending a chill down his spine. The sound was unmistakably near now, as if whatever it was had already spotted him.

Zeddy stepped back slowly, his eyes darting between the trees. The forest was thick, too quiet. Every rustle felt alive.

Then he saw it.

A figure, staggering between two trees.

Green. Decayed. Blank white eyes. Its arms were outstretched, its head perfectly square. It didn't look terrifying, more funny and oddly cute.

But that didn't matter, because it was coming straight toward him.

"Ohhh no. What is that?" Zeddy hissed, his voice dropping, heart racing.

The thing let out a choking growl, the sound it made by its footstep added tension in the air.

"It's a zombie. It's gotta be… LOOK AT IT." he spoke loudly so the whole viewers can see it.

Live Chat:

[ZedGods: BRO RUN]

[NightRaider: HE'S GOT THE TUTORIAL DISABLED AND A ZOMBIE ENABLED LIKE WHAT!!]

[NolanInvincible: THAT THING MOVES LIKE MY WiFi] – his referring to the slowness of the zombie to walk.

[AreYouSure: Why is bro just standing there like a fortress? Run!!]

Seeing the chat flood like a river rushing over a cliff, Zeddy gave a cold, determined smile.

"Come on then," he growled, switching to his sword.

"Let's see what kind of survival game this really is." And so, the showdown began, zombie versus player.

The zombie groaned louder, now only feet away. That's when Zeddy's character swung.

The wooden sword struck with a solid thud, and the zombie reeled back, letting out a raspy screech, its body jerking from the impact.

"YEAH, TAKE THAT YOU GLITCHY BAG OF ROT!" Zeddy cursed.

Live Chat:

[RobGod: Glitchy bag of what]

[Roaster: Zeddy is terrible at cursing]

[AnimalsDragons(reply to Roaster): Yeah, that's the best part, though.

[SukunaSakalam: It's like a battle between Gojo and sukuna]

[GojoNo.1: You're right, look at Sukuna. He was being pushed back like a loser,

[SukunaSakalam(reply to GojoNo.1: SYBAU]

Zeddy, completely unfazed, swung again. And again.

With the final hit, the zombie let out a glitchy howl before bursting into pixelated particles, vanishing with a soft pop!

"Hey, I won! Oh, look, there's a drop," Zeddy said as he walked toward the spot.

[Rotten Flesh 2] [Iron]

"A rotten flesh and iron? Now this is new," Zeddy muttered, raising his brows in surprise.

But before he could inspect the loot further, his character let out a sharp pain sound.

He was pushed sideways, and one heart disappeared from his health bar.

Quickly moving his camera, he spotted the culprit, another mob creeping up from behind.
