After Zhang Qiang's explanation, Yang Tao finally understood the situation.
Zhang Qiang was just an ordinary guy in this world. A recent college graduate, he lived a simple life, going to work and coming home every day.
His routine was straightforward—work, eat, sleep. The 996 work schedule was a blessing, and living the 857 lifestyle was true happiness!
But three days ago, everything changed. Strange, supernatural creatures started appearing all over the world—things beyond human understanding.
The government didn't even try to cover it up. Honestly, there was no way to hide it. These supernatural incidents were happening everywhere.
As an ordinary person, Zhang Qiang only knew the basics. He didn't have much other information.
Yang Tao asked, "Have there been any awakenings? People with new powers or abilities?"
Zhang Qiang shook his head. "Not sure. The power is still on, so I can still check online. I've heard rumors about awakenings, but I don't know if they're real."
Yang Tao thought for a moment and then asked, "So, have you decided what you're going to do next? This is just the beginning of the supernatural resurgence—you have no idea what's coming. This is your world, after all."
Hearing that, Zhang Qiang fell into deep thought. Yang Tao didn't interrupt him.
A moment later, Zhang Qiang looked up, his eyes full of hope.
"Group leader, I know you must have a way to help us! Please, save our world!"
Seeing his determination, Yang Tao smiled and patted him on the shoulder.
"No problem. If you were able to join our chat group, then this is fate's choice too!"
Yang Tao was relieved that Zhang Qiang wasn't selfish. Now that he had access to the chat group, he could have followed the typical novel protagonist route—train, grow stronger, and eventually become the ruler or even the god of this world.
But instead, he chose to seek help and save this world sooner.
Yang Tao immediately sent a message to the chat group.
"Alright, everyone, we've got a mission!"
He explained Zhang Qiang's situation and the help he needed.
"Tony, Ren Fa, do either of you have time?"
If Whitebeard came, it would be like using a cannon to kill a mosquito. If they needed to destroy this world, he'd be the perfect choice. But saving it? Not so much.
Ren Fa responded, "I'm free anytime! Just got back from Japan and was feeling a bit bored!"
Tony: "I'm just waiting for the battle in New York. I can help! Group leader, how do you plan to save this supernatural world?"
Yang Tao: "Since we're helping, we're going all the way. Tony, how's your research on Daoist magic coming along?"
Tony was sharp—he immediately understood what Yang Tao was planning.
"No problem! I've already improved the talisman printer, and I've pretty much mastered all kinds of formations too."
"Alright, just come over first. We can talk more once you're here and figure things out together."
Not long after, Ren Fa and Tony appeared in the room. Ren Fa was carrying the printer Tony had given him earlier, while Tony arrived empty-handed, wearing only his armor.
Ren Fa placed the printer on a nearby table, greeted Zhang Qiang, and asked about the situation.
"Group leader, something's off about this world. I can sense a strong ghostly presence everywhere. This kind of energy is usually only found in the underworld or the realm of spirits. It really seems like something straight out of a novel—this world has somehow merged with the underworld."
As a supernatural being, Ren Fa was especially sensitive to these energies.
Tony glanced outside. Even though it was nighttime, the streets were still filled with people and cars.
"Looks like the situation isn't too serious yet. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many people out at night."
Just as they were discussing how to deal with the problem, there was a sudden knock at the door.
"Excuse me, is anyone home? Could you please open the door?"
A man's voice came from outside.
Zhang Qiang called out, "Who is it? What do you need?"
The person at the door replied, "We're from the Public Security Bureau. Please cooperate with our investigation."
Public Security Bureau? The group exchanged glances.
Why would the police suddenly show up?
Zhang Qiang was confused—he hadn't done anything illegal!
Yang Tao immediately pulled out an invisibility potion, and the three of them vanished from sight.
After they disappeared, Zhang Qiang looked through the peephole. Sure enough, there were two uniformed officers standing outside.
He opened the door and let them in. "It's pretty late. What brings you here?"
One of the officers, an older man, spoke up. "We're from the National Paranormal Bureau. We detected a Level 1 supernatural event at this location. Don't bother denying it—we have special methods to confirm these incidents. Now, can you tell us how that entity was destroyed?"
Before knocking, the officers had already noticed a pile of ashes in the corner outside the door. Their tests confirmed it was the remains of a Level 1 supernatural paper effigy.
Meanwhile, Yang Tao and the others were discussing the situation in their chat group.
Tony: "Looks like the newcomer's world isn't as hopeless as we thought. This country responds pretty quickly!"
Zhang Qiang: "I don't really know. I was just an ordinary person before, so I never had access to this kind of information."
Yang Tao: "Well, it seems like your world has at least some level of self-defense. You might want to consider working with this Paranormal Bureau. They probably know a lot more than you do."
Zhang Qiang: "Got it, I'll see how things go."
Yang Tao: "Alright, we'll head back for now. Let us know if you need anything."
"Sorry for wasting everyone's time!"
