Kaelis drove through the pouring rain and every now and then, he would glance at Augustus who sat next to him.
Augustus, who noticed, furrowed his brows at him. "What?"
"Nothing."
"If you have nothing to say, don't glance at me with that look on your face."
"What look?"
"As if I dragged you into something you shouldn't be in."
"Um, hello." Kaelis seemed pissed off. "That's exactly what happened."
"It's your duty." Augustus glared at him.
"Yeah, the one you threatened and gaslighted me into."
He cocked a brow at him. "So what if I did then? You're going to keep whining about it?"
"No. I won't, because I don't have a problem with protecting Alexis."
"Then what is your problem?"
Kaelis hesitated, but he did talk, saying, "Just stop threatening me into doing things. It's not like I wouldn't do anything for Alexis. Even if I don't agree instantly, I will eventually do it."
