(Astrid POV)
"Brady, you cannot be serious! Do you really want me to meet with Kael?!?!"
"I do not want you to meet with Kael, Astrid. But… I think that you should."
"Why? What possible reason could there be for me to meet with him? That chapter of my life is closed. I do not want to see Kael or anyone else from that pack ever again!"
Brady looked at me sympathetically. "I know that you do not want to see him, Astrid. I cannot blame you for that; I would feel the same way if I were in your shoes. But he is feeling desperate. If you do not agree to meet with him, he is going to try to find you anyway. And that is going to bring attention that we do not want right now. It is unsafe."
"Unsafe how?"
Brady took a deep breath, obviously debating his next sentence. "Please, just trust me on this, Astrid."
I groaned. I trust Brady and Dr. Hyder completely, but I do not like that they keep secrets from me. Why I am in danger and who I am in danger from are chief amongst the secrets.
