"Finally, here," Mito murmured, and she opened her eyes. Turning her eyes, she looked in the direction of the gate of the Senju Clan, and a soft smile appeared on her face.
She closed her eyes again, leaned back on her chair with the smile remaining on her face and waited for them to arrive in her room.
Outside the gate, when Akane was done remembering old days, he noticed two hands on his shoulders and looked at Tsunade, who had put her hands on his shoulders.
"I am fine," he said when he noticed some concern in her eyes and pinched Kushina's cheek, who had a confused look on her face.
"Let's go in. Grandma must be waiting for us," Kushina said as she held his hand and rushed inside, pulling him along. Tsunade removed her hands from his shoulders and smiled as she watched Kushina bring Akane inside.
When they had run a few metres ahead, her smile froze, and she turned her head to look in a direction with her eyes narrowed.
"Come out,"
Tsunade said with a frown on her face, but nothing happened. She kept looking in a direction. Only after a minute did someone come out from behind a tree, and Tsunade stared at the masked man.
"Sakumo-Senpai?" Tsunade called him in a low voice and saw Sakumo taking a scroll out of his pocket. Throwing the scroll at Tsunade, Sakumo disappeared, and Tsunade looked at the scroll in her hand with a weird look in her eyes.
While this was happening, Akane and Kushina walked together inside the Senju Clan, and Kushina told him about the Senju Clan and its surroundings.
Kushina didn't notice that Tsunade wasn't following them, but it was different for Akane, who used Kagura's Mind Eye to look around, and he had done it when Zetsu had informed him of Sakumo's arrival.
'I wonder what happened. Did she get a mission or something?'
Akane looked at Tsunade using Kagura's Mind Eye and then turned to look in the direction of Hokage's office with a thoughtful face.
"A-chan, are you listening? Eh? Where did Tsunade-Nee go?" Kushina asked with a surprised face. She was confused since she thought that Tsunade was coming with them.
"She is a bit busy, I don't think she will be coming,"
Akane said while looking in the direction of Mito's room, and Kushina nodded at his words. They started to walk again until they were outside the room, and before Kushina stepped ahead, Akane turned his head with a frown appearing on his face.
Inside the room, Mito opened her eyes, and she looked outside with a sharp look in her eyes. Getting up, she walked to the door, and her appearance changed to her old one when she reached the door.
Opening the door, she looked at Akane and Kushina, who were looking at the ANBU member, and when ANBU Ninja saw Mito opening the door, he nodded at her and said, "Greetings, Mito-Sama."
"Hmm." Mito hummed in response without looking at him, and her eyes were on Akane and Kushina.
"Go inside, I will deal with him."
Kushina didn't wait any second more and pulled Akane inside with her. In between, Akane flashed a smile to Mito, who nodded in response and finally looked at the ANBU Ninja with a gentle expression on her face changing to a cold one.
"What is it?"
"Hokage-Sama has requested your presence for the Council meeting," the ninja replied, feeling the pressure Mito was emitting unconsciously, as she was irked by being disturbed during her peaceful time.
Hearing his words, Mito narrowed her eyes. It's been quite some time since she participated in Council meetings, and if Third Hokage requested her presence, it means they must have something important to talk about.
'I will talk about that matter too,' Mito thought while turning her head, and she said, "I will join the meeting."
Nodding at her words, the ANBU Ninja disappeared from the place, and Mito walked back to her room. Her appearance changed again to her youthful form, and a gentle look appeared on her face as she reached the room.
In the room, Mito looked at Akane and Kushina, who were sitting together and waiting for her. Looking at them, she couldn't hide the happiness and warmth she was feeling in her heart, and a smile appeared on her face.
Thinking of something, she created a Shadow Clone, who deadpanned at her as her clone understood what she wanted, and it went outside to attend the meeting while she went on her seat.
"Finally here," she said while looking at Akane. Akane nodded, and she noticed the sweet smile on Kushina's face.
"Was the journey okay?"
"Yeah, got to know the secret path to reach the village," Akane said, and a weird look appeared on his face as he thought of the path he travelled and Tsunade's mischievous actions.
"It seems something happened,"
Noticing Akane's expression, Mito commented, and hearing her, Kushina turned to Akane and asked with a curious face.
"What happened?"
"Nothing much happened, there is no need to worry," Akane said with an awkward laugh but Kushina kept staring at him. Looking at them, Mito chuckled and she heard a voice in her mind.
[He is hiding something with the seals.]
Hearing Kurama's words, Mito narrowed her eyes and staring at Akane, she said, "Come here, let me check something."
"Uh?" Akane said with a confused face and when he remembered what happened with Tsunade, a look of understanding appeared on his face. He turned to Kushina with a thoughtful face and said, "Kushina, can you bring water and something to eat? I feel a bit hungry."
"Eh? Okay, I will be back in a minute," Kushina said without noticing anything weird, and she walked out of the room while humming a song. When she left, Akane looked at Mito and with a sigh, he walked to her, who had a frown on her face.
Mito put her hand on his shoulder and sent her chakra into his body. Noticing the seals he had placed on himself, she nodded in appreciation since they were well made, but when she unlocked the seal and saw the state of his body, her eyes became sharp.
"Why in the world did you do this? Not only this, you are pushing your body too much." Mito asked with a sharp look on her face, and she looked at Akane, who had no change in his expression at her words.
A sigh escaped her lips since she understood he wouldn't follow her words, and Mito put her hand on his head.
"You are pushing yourself too much. Just wait for some time. There are some things in this world that come on their own, and some need to be chased. I know you can differentiate between them, but what you are doing right now is foolish."
"Even if it is foolish, I don't have many options," Akane replied with a sigh, and he understood what she was trying to say. He already knew that his body had reached a certain limit, and the only way was to either try to open the gates or wait for his body to grow up.
"So that's why you asked about the Eight Gates in the body," Mito replied with a look of understanding. She knew that Tobirama had done research on the Eight Gates in the body, but she didn't remember reading it.
Mito knew how dangerous and sensitive Tobirama's research was, and that's why she didn't want him to get involved with those matters.
But looking at Akane's face, Mito understood he had already made up his mind, and if she stopped him from using Tobirama's research, he would look for an alternative that surely would be more dangerous since he would be working in an unknown territory.
A sigh escaped Mito's lips, and she turned her head towards the door. Akane also used the seals to cover the scars on his body and when he was done, the door opened with Kushina entering a glass of water.
"Here, A-chan," she said while giving the glass to Akane, who thanked her and drank the water from the cup.
