Chapter 394 - Chapter 394: The Abyssal Sovereign

"Good! Good!" Leng Yaozhu took the reforged Yellow Emperor Sword, swung it a couple of times with satisfaction, glanced at Xia Yi, and a brilliant smile appeared at the corner of her lips as she muttered softly, "Looks like it was worth pampering you last night."

"I…" Xia Yi was speechless, his face full of black lines. That comment… why did it sound like some kind of transaction?

"Forget it." Xia Yi turned and walked back into the forge, looking at Leng Yaozhu as he asked, "As a logistics officer in the Blood God Legion, what exactly am I mainly responsible for? Don't tell me it's just forging weapons for you all."

"In your dreams." Leng Yaozhu rolled her eyes at him and said, "In the Blood God Legion, even the kitchen chefs have to participate in combat."

"If everyone has to fight, then what's the difference between logistics and the combat troops?" Xia Yi asked curiously.

"Regular combat troops have to rotate guarding the Abyssal Passage daily. As for logistics and other non-combat units, they only need to reinforce the front during Abyssal Tides. So, you all also need to learn everything about the Abyssal Plane—understand abyssal creatures. Only then can you fight effectively and minimize casualties." Leng Yaozhu paused, then continued, "Everyone who joins the Blood God Legion undergoes a month of special training. During that time, veterans are assigned to guide them in understanding abyssal creatures. Come on, I'll take you for a walk through the Abyssal Passage, let you get a feel for real abyssal beasts."

"Alright." Xia Yi's eyes lit up with excitement. His last encounter with a Possession Demon had really piqued his interest.

Heading to the Abyssal Passage—he might even encounter a real Possession Demon!

Leng Yaozhu seemed to know exactly what he was thinking and said sternly, "Possession Demons are not so easily dealt with. The one you faced in your assessment was modeled after the weakest kind. Real powerful Possession Demons can even possess Ultimate Douluos and force them to rebel. They're extremely dangerous."

Abyssal Plane!

RUMBLE—RUMBLE!

The ground collapsed, magma surged everywhere. The 35th and 86th levels of the Abyssal Plane had fully collapsed. Countless abyssal creatures were reduced to dust as the planes caved in. The entire Abyss trembled violently. The disappearance of the plane seeds meant that those layers lost their foundational source of existence. All the abyssal energy began to disperse, spreading toward other levels. The abyssal creatures that had relied on those layers quickly disintegrated, turning into raw abyssal energy that scattered in all directions.

"What's going on? What happened to the 35th and 86th levels?" Furious roars echoed across the Abyss.

One after another, enormous and terrifying figures appeared in the depths of the Abyssal Plane, each filled with rage and disbelief.

"The 35th and 86th levels collapsed? That's impossible!" Those closest to these layers felt it most intensely. The collapse of those two levels was a disaster for the Abyss. Nearby layers were affected, with huge numbers of abyssal creatures perishing. Though the energy wouldn't be lost and could eventually generate new abyssal life, such an event had never happened since the Abyss first formed with its 108 layers!

"What? When did the humans gain the power to destroy plane seeds? That's impossible. Those seeds are the purest form of planar power. They could only be destroyed if someone could channel the source power of their own plane…"

"Damn it—it must be that terrifying woman! We thought she could only seal the plane seeds, but she actually destroyed them!"

Both the Blood God Legion and the Abyss were already aware that Leng Yaozhu had sealed two abyssal plane seeds.

Because of her actions, recently even the other Abyssal Kings didn't dare to enter the Abyssal Passage lightly.

They feared ending up like the kings of the 35th and 86th levels.

Until now, Leng Yaozhu had only sealed seeds, never destroyed them. Naturally, the Abyssal Kings assumed she didn't know how to destroy them.

They didn't expect Leng Yaozhu to give them such a huge surprise.

"It seems… we must change our plans. Maybe even move things forward. The humans… they've grown powerful enough to threaten our existence. Through the Abyssal Passage, they can even actively invade our world. If they reach in with their claws, we'll be in serious trouble."

"Enough!" A voice, cold and bone-chilling, suddenly rang out, silencing all the clamorous discussions instantly.

At the highest level of the Abyss, a pair of black eyes slowly opened. They had no whites—just deep, abyss-like darkness.

When those eyes opened, the entire Abyssal Plane calmed. The collapse of the two layers ceased to affect the surrounding regions.

"Sovereign…" All the Abyssal Kings gathered at the deepest part of the Abyss bowed respectfully, bending their once-proud backs to that black gaze.

"Humanity now possesses the power to destroy us. We must strike first. At all costs, we must tear open the passage and annihilate them completely. Anyone willing to sacrifice themselves to strengthen the passage, I promise—when you are revived in the future, there will be no obstacles. Your planar tier will increase by three. To completely open the passage, ten kings must be sacrificed."

That frigid voice echoed through the depths of the Abyss, silencing all the kings in fear.

Yes—the Abyssal Plane could indeed break through the seal, but the cost was enormous. If a king fell, their position might be taken by another. No Abyssal King wanted that.

But with the Abyssal Sovereign speaking, none dared to disobey. And they knew—when the Abyssal Sovereign made a promise, he always kept it. They would be revived, stronger than before.

"I'm willing to sacrifice for the Abyss." A massive monster with five arms stepped forward respectfully before the Sovereign.

One by one, other Abyssal Kings followed. They knew that such a sacrifice meant a long sleep before revival, but with the Sovereign's guarantee—and the chance to rise in status—it was worth it.

"Very good. Go prepare. Await my command. We will destroy humanity and devour their world. The Abyss… it is time to expand." The Abyssal Sovereign's icy voice echoed through all 108 layers of the Abyss, through every corner.

The 108 layers might sound like a lot, but if humanity truly mastered the power to destroy plane seeds, even if they could only destroy one or two at a time, the total destruction of the Abyss was just a matter of time.

Previously, the Abyss survived on its "undying" nature, repeatedly launching Abyssal Tides to siphon energy from the Douluo Continent.

It was a profitable strategy.

But now, with humanity's newfound ability to destroy seeds, the Abyss could no longer afford a war of attrition.

They had only two choices: sever all ties with Douluo Continent and run—or go all in for a decisive war.

The Abyssal Sovereign chose the latter without hesitation.

After all the years he had spent scheming and planning, how could he just give up on the Douluo Plane?
