Chapter 195 - Chapter 194: Solus Takes Action

Thud, thud, thud.

A series of heavy footsteps echoed.

A towering figure slowly emerged from the shadows and stepped beneath the Great Web.

"Weaver Master, it's almost dinner time. Call back my lively and adorable offspring! Surely, they have hunted enough tributes to showcase the greatness of the Heir Family!"

The massive giant, standing over 2.5 meters tall, was none other than the leader of the Heir Family—the Totem God of the Leech Totem: Solus!

A mighty being with multiversal-level strength!

"O Great Solus," the Weaver Master lowered his head, gazing down at Solus from above, yet exuding utmost humility.

"Hmm? Weaver Master, what do you wish to say?" Solus slightly raised his head.

"Your offspring… I fear they cannot be summoned back so easily," the Weaver Master replied.

"Why?"

"Because your offspring have suffered devastating injuries during the hunt," the Weaver Master stated.

"Brex can revive them, can't he? So-called injuries mean nothing to the great Heirs!" Solus remained unconcerned.

Throughout their long history of hunting, they had died many times before.

Even he had suffered severe wounds when battling some formidable beings.

But they had cloning devices, granting them infinite resurrection—this was the foundation of their fearless arrogance!

"This time… it's different," the Weaver Master's tone grew heavy.

His words made Solus pause his arrogant laughter and fix his gaze on him once more.

"Speak. What happened?"

"A spider has disrupted the Web of Life and Destiny and attacked several of your offspring. Morlun, Daemos, Bora, and Brex have all fallen to him," the Weaver Master reported humbly.

"What happened to them?"

"It seems that spider has hidden them away by some means. As a result, they cannot return for the feast, nor can they even commit suicide to resurrect themselves."

"Tell me—where is that spider?" Solus's face darkened completely.

He could tolerate his offspring being slain—after all, he could simply kill the enemy in return.

But he could not tolerate someone imprisoning his offspring!

His wife was already dead.

That meant he could never again produce qualified descendants.

The Heir Family would forever remain as few as they were now.

Losing even one would be an enormous loss.

This was why, despite Karn's grave mistake, he had only been exiled rather than executed.

"O Great Solus, forgive me, but I am unable to answer that," the Weaver Master said regretfully.

"A spider even you, the Weaver Master, cannot track?" Solus' eyes widened, and a terrifying aura erupted from him.

At that moment, the entire Weaving Temple began to tremble violently, and the threads of the Web of Life and Destiny quivered incessantly.

Yet, the Weaver Master remained calm as he replied, "Yes, Lord Solus. This spider is highly unusual—he has stolen authority from the Web of Life and Destiny, evading my observation. I only discovered his existence while guiding Lord Daemos on his path."

Solus did not respond. He stared at the Weaver Master for a long time, his sharp gaze seemingly piercing through the metallic sphere atop the Weaver Master's head, as if trying to read his expression.

After a long silence, he finally took a deep breath.

The oppressive atmosphere around them gradually dissipated.

"Open the passage. Let me see this arrogant little spider myself!"

"As you wish, O Great Solus."

Earth-928.

This is the home universe of Spider-Man 2099.

At the same time, it also serves as a temporary gathering place for Peter and Zhang Parker, along with other members of the Spider Army.

After a long period of busyness, Peter decided to take a short break.

So, he returned to Earth-928.

At this moment, Earth-928 had already gathered more than a dozen Spider-People from different universes.

Some were well-known, such as the Shadow Spider-Man, while others were lesser-known, even to the point of never appearing in any works.

However, without exception, they were all formidable fighters.

This was the entry standard for the Spider Army.

After all, their ultimate goal was to eliminate the Inheritors—not to deliver takeout.

When encountering weaker individuals, they might lend a hand to resolve minor troubles, but they wouldn't bring them back.

Unfortunately, this particular Shadow Spider-Man was clearly not the one Peter had met before.

That wasn't surprising.

Just like how Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man could have multiple versions—one from Earth-120703, another from Earth-120703B, and potentially even more—the Shadow Spider-Man also had various different versions.

Having encountered so many Spider-People, Peter no longer had the same enthusiasm to meet each one as he once did.

After letting Zhang Parker's AI assistant prepare a simple meal to replenish his energy, Peter wove a web from quantum spider silk and lay on it to sleep.

Quantum spider silk, being his unique type of webbing, was not only lightweight, fast, and highly durable but also maintained a special connection with him, providing a certain degree of warning and alertness.

After all, he was in the distant past, engaged in a war against the terrifying Inheritor family—remaining cautious was only natural.

While Peter slept, the other Spider-People were busy with their own tasks.

Some continued traveling to other worlds, seeking powerful allies who shared their cause to join the Spider Army.

Others remained in this universe, resting and getting to know their counterparts from different dimensions.

Buzz—

Just then, a portal opened.

"Yo, another newcomer?" A Spider-Man, who happened to notice the portal, grinned.

Thud!

However, stepping out of the portal was not the Spider-Person they had expected, but rather a towering brute of a man.

The man was clearly no longer young. Though he had an incredibly muscular build, his hair was streaked with gray.

Yet, this did nothing to conceal the aura he exuded—one of brutality, bloodlust, chaos, and pure evil.

An overwhelming sense of dread spread like invisible hands, gripping the throats of all the Spider-People present.

"Who are you?" one Spider-Man barely managed to ask.

Swish!

With an agility that seemed utterly at odds with his massive frame, Solus covered more than ten meters in the blink of an eye, appearing in front of one of the Spider-People and seizing him in his grasp.

"You're all just food," he sneered. "Now, tell me - where is he?"

"…Who?"

"The Spider! That special Spider! Your leader!" Solus roared.

The captured Spider-Man immediately thought of Peter but stubbornly refused to answer.

He had already realized that the monstrous presence before him, radiating an unfathomable terror that left him completely powerless, was likely the ultimate nightmare they were destined to face

Solus!

"Useless. Die!" Solus snarled, opening his mouth and inhaling deeply.

A glowing mass of life energy was forcefully extracted.

The Spider-Man in his grasp instantly withered into a dried corpse!
