{Chapter: 184 Killing Wesker}
The massive zombie was torn apart, its grotesque body splitting into four separate pieces as an immense cross-shaped extremely compressed blade of wind sliced through it with devastating force. A sickening thud echoed as the dismembered corpse crashed onto the cracked pavement, sending up a cloud of dust and decay. The lifeless chunks lay scattered, twitching briefly before succumbing to stillness.
For a long moment, no one spoke.
The battlefield, once filled with the guttural moans of the undead and the desperate cries of survivors, had fallen into an eerie silence. All eyes were fixed on the grotesque remains, their faces frozen in shock and confusion. Who had done this? How had such an enormous monster been felled in an instant?
Jill's breath hitched. Her mind whirred through possibilities until a realization struck like a bolt of lightning. Her heart pounded with a mixture of awe and anticipation.
"It must be him," she whispered.
Alice, standing beside her, smiled knowingly, her sharp blue eyes scanning the darkened sky. "He's here."
The clouds swirled ominously above, parting slightly as a shadowed figure descended slowly from the heavens. The others followed Alice's gaze, their expressions shifting from confusion to disbelief.
Who was this person?
"William, come down quickly!" Claire's voice cut through the stunned silence.
Descending with effortless grace, William cradled Ada in his arms as they landed in the midst of Alice and the others. The moment his feet touched the ground, Ada slipped from his grasp and moved away, avoiding their gazes.
Jill's keen eyes flicked toward Ada, taking in the subtle details. Her attire had changed—no longer the signature red cheongsam she had worn before. Not to mention how her entire body was now covered by some type of clothing. She even had a scarf around her neck, which was surprising, considering she had once ventured into such a cold area wearing only a one-piece, high-slit red cheongsam. Yet here she was, covering even her neck while the sun shone above them, wearing gloves, a long scarf, a long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and even gloves!
Jill's mind jumped to an obvious yet unbelievable conclusion. Could it be? Had something happened between them in such a short time?
No, it wasn't possible… was it?
Her thoughts were interrupted as Terry rushed forward and threw her arms around William, pressing herself tightly against him. "I'm so glad you're safe!" she exclaimed.
Claire's expression darkened immediately. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?"
Alice folded her arms, her sharp gaze narrowing. "This isn't the time for romance."
Realizing how it must have looked, Terry quickly released William, her face flushed with embarrassment. "I was just… relieved, that's all."
Before the conversation could continue, a blur of movement appeared beside them. A chilling presence made everyone tense instinctively.
"William, you arrived at the perfect time." The cold, confident voice belonged to none other than Wesker.
William turned to face him, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "Well, well, Wesker. You're still alive? Impressive."
Wesker's expression was unreadable, but his golden eyes gleamed with restrained hostility. "Focus, William. The real enemy here is the Red Queen. Don't make a mistake."
William raised a single finger and waved it side to side. "Oh, but I haven't made a mistake. You and the Red Queen—both of you need to die."
For the first time, Wesker's expression wavered.
Then, without warning, a jagged ice spear materialized in midair and impaled him straight through the chest.
A strangled gasp escaped Wesker's lips as he stumbled backward, his face twisting in shock. "You—"
Alice and the others barely had time to process what had happened. How had the ice spike appeared so suddenly? It had to be William's doing. But when had he gained such power?
With unnatural speed, Wesker flickered out of existence, reappearing ten meters away, his hand gripping the ice protruding from his body. With a pained growl, he yanked the frozen spear from his chest and let it shatter against the pavement.
"You're strong, I'll give you that," Wesker said darkly. "But you can't kill me."
Before he could move again, the ground beneath him erupted.
A spear of jagged stone shot upward with terrifying velocity, impaling him from the base of his spine all the way through the top of his skull. Blood splattered in a sickening arc as a guttural roar of agony escaped his throat.
Wesker struggled, his enhanced body trying to fight against the impalement, but two colossal arms—formed entirely from hardened rock—burst from the earth and latched onto his legs, locking him in place.
William strode toward him with an air of finality. "Wesker, you might be little immortal, but if your entire body is reduced to nothing, how will you survive then?"
Alice hesitated. "Are you really going to kill him?"
William's expression remained unwavering, his gaze burning with righteous conviction. "This kind of man—God might tolerate him, but I won't. Today, I'll enforce justice in God's name."
Several of the women exchanged glances. This was William speaking? The most ruthless and unpredictable person among them? The irony was almost comical.
"Wi-William… you can't…" Wesker coughed, his voice laced with desperation.
William raised a hand, and in his palm, a searing ball of fire ignited, casting a fiery glow against his cold smirk. "Do you really think I can't kill you? You've overestimated yourself."
Jill turned to Ada, whispering, "Is his power related to the corpse beads?"
Ada nodded solemnly. "Yes. He's merged five of them. That's where his abilities come from."
"Five?!" Jill's eyes widened in shock.
Ada hesitated before continuing, her tone quieter. "After you left, a sea monster appeared. William killed it… and it had two corpse beads."
Jill nodded but kept her gaze on Ada. "I see. But something tells me something else happened between you two."
"No," Ada denied quickly, but the flicker of panic in her eyes betrayed her.
Jill smirked knowingly, her sharp eyes glinting with amusement. "Then tell me, why does your new outfit look like it was designed to hide every inch of skin? This is the same woman who once strutted through freezing temperatures in nothing but a high-slit cheongsam. And now? Gloves, a scarf, ear muffs, long sleeves—you look like you're bracing for a blizzard."
Ada parted her lips, searching for a response, but before a single word could escape, a bloodcurdling scream tore through the air, shattering the moment.
Wesker writhed in agony as the flames engulfed him. His flesh melted away in gruesome layers, his internal organs shriveling into blackened husks. Within seconds, his bones turned to ash, leaving behind nothing but smoldering embers.
Alice exhaled slowly. "Well, he's dead. But we still have a much bigger problem."
Beyond them, the landscape was shifting. Massive figures emerged from the darkness, towering more than thirty meters tall. The ground trembled beneath their weight.
William's gaze lifted to the sky, his eyes gleaming. "Before dealing with those… let's get rid of the nuisances above."
A high-pitched screech echoed through the night as two monstrous, bat-like creatures swooped down.
William barely moved.
With a flick of his wrist, two colossal ice lances tore through the sky, impaling the flying beasts before they could even react. Their dying screams were drowned out by the howling wind.
Then, a slow, menacing voice echoed through the city, carrying an eerie weight.
"William… you are too late. You will all die here. And when you do, humanity will be wiped from this world."
Alice's expression darkened. "The Red Queen."
William sighed, rubbing his temples. "You talk as if I care."
The Red Queen laughed, a cold and soulless sound. "Foolish human. Do you truly think you can stand against what's coming? You are nothing."
A smirk curled on William's lips. "And you're good at bragging."
At that moment, the ground quaked violently.
"Roar, roar, roar..." The roaring sound came, and hundreds of huge zombies more than 30 meters high appeared in the eyes of everyone, surrounding the White House.
Hundreds of towering zombies, their grotesque forms bulging with unnatural strength, loomed over them, completely surrounding the White House.
William let out a low chuckle, his voice carrying an edge of challenge. "Human wave tactics, huh? White Queen, don't think for a second that you're the only one who can play that game."
He ascended effortlessly, hovering above the battlefield as raw power crackled in the air around him.
A sudden pulse of blue light radiated from his core, and in an instant, fifty swirling orbs of deformed elements burst into existence, each pulsing with power.
"Artificial Kongs," he called out, his voice resonating like a war drum. "It's time. Rise and fight. I, William, will lead you to victory!"
The battlefield trembled as chaos erupted.
One after another, fifty strands of Transformium elemental particles streaked down from the sky, slamming into the earth like falling stars. The deafening sound of grinding metal and shifting machinery filled the air, heralding the birth of a new army.
