Chapter 185 - CH: 183 Zombie Frenzy

{Chapter: 183 Zombie Frenzy}

Above the battlefield, two helicopters hovered in place, their rotors chopping through the smoky air. Below them, an immense bat-like creature spread its leathery wings, its crimson eyes gleaming with unnatural intelligence.

BOOM! BOOM!

Missiles streaked through the air, heading straight for the monstrous entity. The moment before impact, the giant bat released a deafening, high-pitched screech. The ultrasonic wave shimmered visibly in the air, distorting the air around it as it expanded outward.

BOOM!

Both helicopters exploded mid-air, the shockwave rattling the battlefield as flaming debris spiraled downward. Burning wreckage crushed hordes of zombies below, but the loss of air support only worsened the situation.

BOOM! BOOM!

From the ground, anti-aircraft cannons fired relentlessly, sending an endless stream of shells toward the massive creature. The sheer force of impact made the bat reel slightly, but it soon let out another screech, sending powerful sonic waves that cracked the very ground beneath it.

"I'm going to kill that thing." Chris stepped forward, a grim determination in his eyes as he hefted a rocket launcher onto his shoulder. He aimed carefully, his finger tightening on the trigger before launching a high-speed rocket directly at the target.

The massive bat let out a sharp cry, sensing the approaching projectile. A pulse of concentrated ultrasonic waves burst from its maw, colliding with the rocket in midair.

BOOM!

The explosion illuminated the battlefield, but the bat remained unscathed.

Chris gritted his teeth. "Damn it! It countered my shot!"

"Let me do it." Alice stepped forward, her gaze sharpening as she focused all her energy. Her eyes glowed with an eerie luminescence, and her pupils contracted. A surge of raw force coursed through her veins, making the air around her hum with an invisible pressure.

With a sharp cry, she extended her hands forward.

BOOOOM!

A supercharged telekinetic wave erupted from her body, tearing through the air and colliding head-on with the approaching ultrasonic blast.

CRACK!

The ground trembled as the two forces clashed, a shockwave rippling outward. The battle of sound and energy raged for mere seconds before Alice's force overpowered the creature's defenses.

BRRRR!

The giant bat screeched in agony as the telekinetic force tore through its body. Its flesh disintegrated, breaking apart piece by piece. With one final, shrill cry, the beast exploded into a shower of shredded wings, charred bones, and molten viscera that rained down upon the battlefield.

Alice stumbled back, her head pounding from the exertion. She placed a trembling hand on her forehead, trying to steady herself.

Jill rushed to her side. "Alice, are you okay?"

Alice exhaled slowly and gave a small nod. "I'm fine… just a headache."

A sudden gasp from Terry drew everyone's attention forward.

"Look! There are more… so many more!"

Alice and the others turned their gazes toward the outer perimeter of the battlefield, where a nightmarish sight awaited them. Beyond the collapsed sections of the defensive walls, dozens of colossal zombies, each towering over ten meters, were steadily approaching.

Their rotting bodies pulsed with dark energy, and as they moved, they absorbed nearby undead, their flesh merging together in a grotesque display of biological horror. The defensive walls, barely twenty meters tall, would soon be useless against their sheer size and relentless advance.

"They're still merging!" Claire muttered, horrified.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A fresh volley of cannon fire, missiles, and heavy artillery rained down upon the approaching behemoths, but the results were the same. Even when a limb was blown apart, the undead simply absorbed nearby corpses, regenerating almost instantly.

Chris clenched his fists. "Are they immortal?!"

Alice narrowed her eyes, her mind piecing together the grim truth. "They aren't immortal, but their bodies are constantly absorbing new material. Every time they take damage, the surrounding zombies just replace what was lost."

Jill shook her head, her face grim. "This is a nightmare. Wesker, are you just going to stand there and watch?"

Wesker remained composed, lifting a hand to remove his sunglasses. His piercing red eyes gleamed in the dim light.

"If you want to destroy these monsters, you need to erase them entirely. Targeting specific areas is pointless."

Without warning, Wesker vanished, a blur of movement faster than the human eye could track. In an instant, he reappeared atop the defensive wall, now gripping two massive railguns—one in each hand.

BOOM!

A single shot from Wesker's weapon vaporized one of the colossal zombies, reducing it to a pile of steaming flesh. He continued his onslaught, moving with inhuman speed, firing shot after shot. In moments, nearly half of the towering undead were obliterated.

Claire stood in stunned silence. "That's… insane. But even at his speed, he can't keep up. They're merging too fast!"

Indeed, for every zombie destroyed, the remaining ones fused together, their writhing bodies twisting into ever larger abominations.

Then, a thirty-meter-tall monstrosity emerged, its body grotesquely bulging as it absorbed countless smaller undead. Its blood-red eyes fixated on the wall, and with an ear-splitting roar, it stomped forward.

Chris's eyes widened. "There's no way we can stop that!"

BOOM!

Wesker fired another shot, blasting a massive hole through the zombie's abdomen. A sea of darkened viscera spilled forth, but even that wasn't enough. Within seconds, the gaping wound sealed itself, the creature reforming as though nothing had happened.

CRACK!

The behemoth slammed its fist into the defensive wall, sending tremors through the ground. Fissures spread outward, weakening the structure.

"FIRE! FIRE EVERYTHING!"

Tanks, missile launchers, and machine guns all turned their firepower on the massive creature. The explosion sent it toppling backward, its monstrous frame slamming into the ground.

But before anyone could celebrate, the smaller zombies swarmed forward, climbing over their fallen titan and merging into its body. Within moments, the creature stood up again, its wounds fully healed.

Alice's head throbbed with pain. She clenched her fists and forced herself to focus, her pupils glowing bright.

BOOOOM!

Another pulse wave surged outward, tearing through the abomination and shattering its form. The sheer force sent its remains flying in all directions.

Alice gasped, collapsing onto one knee. "I... I can't do much more..."

"Roar..."

A deeper, more ominous growl rumbled across the battlefield. Emerging from the fog of destruction was an even larger zombie, nearly forty meters tall.

As if that weren't enough, from the darkened sky above, two massive bat-like creatures began their descent, their piercing cries sending ripples of destructive sonic waves downward.

Panic set in among the remaining defenders. Soldiers faltered, their weapons trembling in their hands.

Claire's voice was barely above a whisper. "This is impossible..."

Jill took a long drag of her cigarette. "We're out of options."

Alice exhaled shakily. "There's only one thing left to do..."

Jill nodded grimly. "We wait."

Terry clasped his hands together. "William, get here fast."

The massive zombie reached the ruins of the collapsed wall, stepping through as artillery continued to hammer at it, to no avail.

The colossal zombie lifted one enormous foot, stepping into the ruined wall, completely ignoring the barrage of artillery.

Suddenly, out of nowhere—

SHHHRAAAK!

A blinding cross-shaped air blade wave sliced through the air, tearing the behemoth into four perfectly even pieces.

The battlefield fell silent.

A hush fell over the battlefield.

A familiar voice echoed through the silence.

"You called for…?"
