"So why exactly do you need this immortality?" Neraxis asked as he leaned against the alleyway's fence. "From what I'm seeing, every time you die, you respawn? Or regenerate?"
"I respawn..." Nightshade muttered. "But the only reason I need immortality is that this skill of mine isn't infinite, and every time I die, I lose a part of myself."
"So you're just greedy," Neraxis pointed out. "Have you ever thought of just hanging up the belt? I don't know... try not to die anymore?"
Nightshade shook her head. "You killed me too many times, and now I can't even remember my childhood. Only bits and pieces of it. But this is the life I have, and I don't want to change just to live longer."
Neraxis's brows furrowed. "But you want immortality? You're a bit stupid and selfish."
"Yeah, you're a bit..." Evangeline trailed off, walking over to Nightshade and bonking her over the head. "You need a reality check, missy."
