Chapter 1 - Prologue : The Shattered Pantheons

In the beginning, the gods ruled over realms beyond mortal comprehension. From their thrones of divine power, they governed all creation—each pantheon dictating the balance of order and chaos in their respective dominions. They were beings of immense authority, unmatched by any force in the universe. Yet, the seeds of defiance were sown within their very own kin.

The War in Heaven

Among the heavens, the most revered and powerful was the Almighty, the ruler of all that was holy. His angels, obedient servants, carried out his will across the realms. But not all of his children accepted this divine hierarchy. One of his most brilliant creations, Lucifer, the Morning Star, began to question the rigid rule of Heaven. His beauty and wisdom became poisoned by pride, and he rallied many angels to his cause.

Lucifer's rebellion sparked a war that would tear apart the very fabric of Heaven. Legions of angels clashed, wings darkening the skies as they fell from grace. Lucifer, the harbinger of this rebellion, declared that the time for servitude was over. He sought to free the angels from their eternal chains of obedience. But in the end, he was no match for the Almighty, who cast him and his followers out of Heaven and into the depths of an unimaginable realm, a place of eternal suffering and isolation—a prison from which none could escape. From this hellish abyss, Lucifer began to build a kingdom of his own, a twisted mirror of Heaven's light, fueled by vengeance and hatred for the Father who had banished him.

The Fall of the Aesir

In the lands of Asgard, the gods of the Norse pantheon ruled with wisdom and might. Odin, the Allfather, was revered as the king of the gods, a master of foresight and knowledge. Yet, even in this divine family, tragedy and deceit thrived. Loki, the trickster god, was not born of Asgard, but he had been adopted into the ranks of the Aesir. His mischief had always been tolerated, but it was his deception that led to the fall of one of the most beloved gods: Baldr.

Through cunning manipulation, Loki tricked Hoder, Baldr's blind brother, into killing him, bringing darkness and grief to the once-harmonious realm. Baldr's death sent shockwaves through Asgard, breaking the trust that once held the gods together. In response to this treachery, Odin and the other gods cast Loki into the depths of a realm of suffering beyond their sight, shackling him to the rocks of the underworld. Yet Loki's laughter echoed in their minds, for the damage was done—the gods of Asgard would never again know the peace they once held.

The Banishment of the Olympians

High upon Mount Olympus, Zeus, king of the Greek gods, had long ruled over the affairs of mortals and immortals alike. But as in the heavens and Asgard, discord also brewed among the Greek gods. Hades, once the trusted messenger of the gods, conspired to overthrow Zeus and usurp the throne of Olympus. Motivated by a thirst for power and autonomy, hades led a silent rebellion, gathering gods who believed that Zeus' reign had become tyrannical.

A great battle ensued on the peak of Olympus, with the very earth shaking beneath the force of their divine conflict. When the dust settled, Hades and his conspirators were cast out, banished to the depths of the underworld. Their names erased from the records of the gods, they were left to create realms of their own, twisted by their anger and bitterness. These realms became places of darkness, sorrow, and isolation—reflections of the gods who now ruled over them in exile.

Creation of Mortals and the Rise of the Chosen

With their rebellious children banished to the darkest corners of the universe, the gods sought to rebuild the balance they had once maintained. But they knew their divine presence alone was not enough to protect the mortal realms from the evil that now festered in the shadows, driven by the very beings they had cast out.

Thus, they created humans—fragile, yet resilient beings capable of forming civilizations and order. From the fertile soil of Earth, mankind rose, spreading across the continents, building cities, and forging new societies. The gods looked upon their creation with hope, seeing in humanity the potential to maintain the balance they had lost. To ensure that humanity could defend itself, the gods bestowed upon certain individuals fragments of their divine powers. These humans, known as the Chosen, were gifted with abilities drawn from the gods themselves.

Some Chosen were granted the powers of a single god, while others, rarer still, received gifts from multiple gods, their strength unmatched by ordinary mortals. They were tasked with protecting the boundaries of the world from the dark forces now lurking at the edges of existence—forces spawned from the exiled gods and their realms.

The Role of the Angels

The gods, however, did not leave humanity to fight alone. Their celestial messengers, the angels, were sent to watch over the mortal world, fighting alongside the Chosen to keep the darkness at bay. Yet not all angels remained loyal to their mission. Some, bored with their eternal duties, began to toy with humanity, leading them astray for their own amusement. Others, more dangerous still, saw humans as beneath them and killed those who dared defy their divine orders.

Despite these betrayals, the gods kept these rogue angels hidden from the humans. The truth was too dangerous to reveal—humans could not know that the very beings they prayed to for protection were sometimes the same ones who threatened their lives. And so the gods and their angels continued their war in secret, maintaining the illusion of divine benevolence while keeping humanity under their control.

The Age of Deception

Now, in the present day, the cracks in the divine façade are beginning to show. The Chosen continue their fight, protecting humanity from the evils lurking beyond the barriers. But whispers of angelic treachery have begun to spread among the ranks of the Chosen, and some have started to question the true nature of their divine benefactors.

As the barriers between the realms weaken, and the exiled gods grow restless in their own twisted worlds, humanity stands on the brink of uncovering a devastating truth—one that could shake the very foundations of their existence. The gods, once revered as the protectors of mankind, may be just as dangerous as the evils they fight to keep out. And the time of reckoning is fast approaching.

The stage is set. The gods watch from their lofty halls, the angels circle above, and the Chosen stand ready. But the balance of power is fragile, and soon, humanity will have to choose—will they continue to serve the gods who control their fate, or will they rise up and claim their own destiny?
