[ Chapter XV (15): "KIDS THESE DAYS" ]

 [ CRACK ]

 [ "Uhh- my head!" ]

As with standard procedure, Felix had just used his ability to Apparate and reappeared somewhere else— that for his exit. This caused his head to spin slightly, and for his stomach to grumble.

But repeated use of Apparation made him have tolerance to it, so the aftereffects aren't that severe compared to the first couple of times. Times wherein he rolled around in the ground... Those are dark times he doesn't want to remember.

He looked around him and noticed that even though it's day, the air in where he teleported into is gloomy. At the point of suffocating; may that be because of him having just recently used Apparation, or because of the dump which people call a city... He doesn't know which is which.

 [ "Where am I...?" ]

He genuinely doesn't know why he is here... You see his Apparation ability differs depending on the plain that he is in i.e. it can cover large spaces but only to selected space...

Spaces which include territories— Hogwarts entrance for example, and location where potential students written in the Book of Acceptance are currently at.

For Earth that is, but if he were to go to the wizarding world that constantly changes, evolves, and expands. Even if he pinpoints an exact place. He wouldn't teleport no matter what he does.

So in some senses his abilities that he bought, Apparation to be exact, has some form of limitations. One such limitation comes with him not knowing when, and where he'll reappear once he uses it to teleport to one of the potential students.

But he didn't question it further when he looked to the side and noticed a blonde-haired child, possibly 10, or 11 years old emitting a faint glow of light that he only sees in potential Hogwarts Students...

Which the child seems to be one.

 [ "H-hey kid!" ]

He doesn't know where he is... America? Ukraine? Russia? Probably other countries wherein it's day. He doesn't know. But in seeing that said kid, his work ethics as the Headmaster and part-time recruiter ensues, as he waves his hand; about to grab the unaware kid, about to preach the good news.

Only stopping momentarily when he noticed that someone else grabbed the said kid. And not in that kind of friendly way; [ "Constantine!" ]

So the kid's name is Constantine... Okay, stored. He remembers the name, so that in the conversation he'll be able to use it; to better persuade the kid, and the kid's family to sign-in on the Hogwarts 7-year plan.

He approaches the two kids with a smile on his face. One kid he is sure isn't supposed to be a kid— more of a child-adult with him nearing Felix's height.

And the other, a genuine child with blonde hair and blue eyes... Which is rare, and weird; especially the combination of both. But compared to Felix, it looks normal.

 [ "Let go, snob." ]

[ "You little piss of shi-" ]

[ "Hey, hey, hey... What's going on here? No cursing, no fighting, no shoving another person on the walls, please." ]

Not being able to hold himself, he hit the fat kid in the head before sending him off in another direction. Separating him away from his possibly future student. Wouldn't want that to happen.

 [ "Hey who the-" ]

[ "Yeah, yeah. Get moving, away from my sight." ]

He personally escorted the kid to a street away, and let him go. Confusing the fat kid because he genuinely doesn't know who the man is; [ "This isn't over, Constantine...!" ]

 [ "Go, go..." ]

[ "Christ, what the hell is wrong with children these days?" ]

He watches the kid cross the street, and yell out while he does so. Threateningly at that, which made Felix want to take off his shoes and throw it at the fat ball of snob.

And 9 out of 10, it would most likely hit due to the size of the kid. Which is comparable to that of a target, the head being the target here. For a second he thought of doing this, but didn't want to waste any more of his time.

As he instead focuses on his future student that should have already received his Admittance Letter by now; [ "Hey, nice meeting you kid. I'm Fe-" ]

 [ "I don't need your pity." ]

 Huh...?!!

In confusion he stared at the kid... Did he in some cases, or form show pity? No, he just really wants to bully a kid. He didn't pity the bullied, he just did it because he saw the bully doing something wrong... And for brownie points.

 [ "Scram, weird guy." ]

He faintly hears Constantine whispers to him under his breath, before moving along the street. Leaving behind the confused Felix standing in the middle of some unknown street— not knowing what to do as people pass by him.

[ "Hey, mom. That guy looks funny." ]

 [ "A-anna, don't point at people, that's rude." ]

 [ "O-oh... Sorry." ]

 ...

 Damn.

He looked to his right and noticed the slight frail and bruised figure of the kid... Worse of it all, his clothes look shredded, messy and covered in dirt... And he could swear seeing stains of blood having dried out in it.

In remembering the kid's face, he slightly remembers it being bruised... No, scratch that, it is heavily bruised; what is he doing?!?! That kid possibly has an abusive home, he needs to help; or offer assistance in ways he can.

 [ "H-hey kid, wait up!" ]

And so, his concern overrides him as he speedwalks past the people and the weird looks they are giving him. He isn't worried about that, no, he is worried more about the safety of the kid.

An abusive home is never a good home, plus the fact he gets bullied in the middle of the street, and no one comes for help; never a great sign. And his attitude to people helping him...

 Yeah.

[ "Mr. Constantine, Mr. Constantine!" ]

He called out while following behind the kid, far away but is closing in... But before he could catch up, Constantine made a turn leaving Felix's sight. He followed, but when he turned to his left...

The young blonde haired boy was nowhere in sight; [ "Huh?" ]

Instead what he notices is another street, a parlor, a barbershop, people in civilian clothing walking around, and an ice cream stand... And Felix loves ice cream.

Having lost the boy, he instead let's himself get distracted and orders for himself an ice cream cone; [ "Hey, how much?" ]

With him not worried about money... He can use magic and Transfigurate a few local currencies here and there, enough to pay this man; or if push comes to shove, just Apparate out of there— not like he cares about people seeing him perform real magic here after all, this isn't where the entrance to the wizarding world.

 [ "That'll be 6 sterling." ]

 [ "Great, I'll have three..." ]

He pretended to take something inside his pocket, but in reality he is touching a button that he then changed into a 20 sterling bill, having gotten familiar with it due to him having watched tv series and movies wherein it gets used; bank heist type of entertainment.

From this encounter he got himself a dessert, and information that leads him to realize that he is definitely in England. Plus the accent of the people, the way they dressed, the architecture that screams Sherlock Holmes confirmed that even more.

He just didn't want to judge too early, he doesn't want tobe labeled as a racist.

He grabbed the ice cream cones, each having three scoops that has both chocolate and vanilla in it. And paid back with the bill; [ "Please, keep the rest." ]

To the joy of the seller, which would most definitely turn into a frown later when he'll realize that his 20 sterlings short. Felix handed the bill, and left.

His mind recalling the name of his student... Which seems to have an impression on him even before he got sent into this universe. Plus the appearance that screams protagonist, maybe...

But he just doesn't seem to remember who the hell a Constantine is; call him stupid, dumb, or ignorance. But names pass by him more than wind... Because he is just that forgetful.

[ "Okay, so, now where is that... Mr. Constantine is?" ]
