"Here's the money." Armaros said as he handed the blacksmith the money for his new armor.
"Thanks kid. Be careful out there." The blacksmith said as he nodded to him.
Armaros was now in new armor. It covered his chest, back, stomach, shoulders, arms and legs. The inside has leather so he wouldn't be uncomfortable and it granted him good protection, after the damage that had been done to his armor yesterday, he wanted to get some more and thankfully he had the money to buy it as well.
He left the store and then made his way straight towards the Guild as he passed the people and greeted them before he reached it and entered. His arrival gained some attention but it went away quickly as he went to the board and picked out another quest and went to get it approved by Rhia.
"Good morning Armaros." Rhia said with a smile when she saw him.
"Good morning. I want to take this quest." Armaros said to her as he gave her the sheet.
Rhia took the sheet and read through it before she hummed with a smile as she gave it back to him.
"This is a good quest. Just make sure that you are careful and come back safe and sound, alright?" Rhia said to him with a smile.
"Okay." Armaros said with a nod before he turned around and walked away.
Rhia watched him leave with a soft smile before she sighed, the events of yesterday was still in her mind as the thought of a mysterious killer was an unsettling news for her. But since the killer had let Armaros go, she hoped that he won't be attacked.
Armaros looked at the details of the quest once more as it was a subjugation quest for goblins, and he couldn't help but sigh at the details of the quest, because no matter how many times he takes care of goblins, there are always more.
'The problem with goblins is that there are far too many of them.' Armaros thought to himself as he at least hoped that the goblins weren't able to get any hostages.
No matter how many the adventurers and others kill, there will always be more in other places, he doesn't understand why he Gods don't just erase that race considering the fact that they are nothing more than slightly intelligent animals as far as he was concerned, not to mention the fact that they also commit rape and other things to girls which are very traumatic for them and could scar them for the rest of their lives.
He had obviously seen the effects as he had been the one to save the three girls from the village who are now living in the Church to be rehabilitated. He mused that he could go and meet with them after he was done with this quest.
He took a carriage to the village which had requested his help, and he was surprised when he saw that there were stone walls around the village and it was larger than typical villages as well.
'Huh, this village is much better than most.' Armaros thought to himself as he got off the carriage and went to the village.
He managed to enter easily with his adventurers card as he went to the village chief and talked to the man.
"Thank you for coming to help us." The chief, an old man, said with a relieved expression.
"It's my job. But can I ask why you haven't taken care of the goblins yourselves. Your village is much larger and safer than most others I have seen." Armaros said curiously as he looked at the man.
"While that may be true, our guards don't have the same skills as an adventurer. They can fight and defend, but they do not have much experience when it comes to leading the charge. Not to mention, we can't risk losing any of our guards as we still need them to keep on protecting our village." The chief said to him as he nodded.
Armaros understood the logic behind the man's words. The guards were crucial for the protection and survival of the village as they are the first line of defence. If they lost many in the raid to kill the goblins, then it would leave the village vulnerable until they can get more.
But Adventurers are different as they are used to taking on monsters and killing them and there are a lot of them. Perhaps the guards will be used as a last resort if the situation comes to that, but right now, relying on an Adventurer is the much safer option for them.
"Have any women been taken by the goblins?" Armaros asked the man as he wanted to be sure about that.
"No. Thankfully, everyone in our village is safe. We managed to repel the goblins, but we do not know how long." The chief said to him as Armaros nodded.
"Alright, I will go and kill the goblins." Armaros said as the chief nodded as he felt some relief.
'Even if he is a young, his eyes are much different than most of his age. Perhaps he will be strong enough to take care of them all.' The chief thought to himself as he looked at the boy.
"You can ask the details about the whereabouts of the goblins from the scout. He should be near the Gates." The chief said as Armaros nodded and left to there.
Armaros got the details about the location to which the goblins had fled from the scout and he made his way through the forest as he kept his senses sharp to make sure that he wasn't ambushed or that he would fall into a trap.
After he walked for roughly 20 minutes he reached a goblin camp situated in a clearing as he hid behind a tree and spied on them as he made sure to not make any noise which might give him away and was thankful for the fact that he decided to be silent while traversing the forest.
The goblin camp itself wasn't much but the goblins had made three crude tents and they have crude weapons made from wood and stone as well. He carefully counted their numbers and he concluded that they were 32 in number. But he also didn't rule out the fact that there might be more in the tents that he couldn't see.
He has to come up with a plan to make sure that he will be able to take care of then quickly and efficiently and in a way that he wouldn't be too hurt nor would his equipment be damaged that much. He doesn't want to spend money on repairs and new equipment if he could help it.
'A way to immediately take out a group of them, or even temporarily stop them from fighting. There is one way but, damn it...' Armaros thought to himself as he couldn't help but grumble at the plan.
But he strengthened his resolve as he coursed Mana through his right hand as he stopped himself from making any noise as he felt the familiar pain from using the mystical energy as he created water.
Then he dashed out of his hiding spot and jumped into the air as the goblins in the camp noticed him. But it was far too late as he immediately shot a stream of water at them and they were slammed into the ground from the force and drenched from his attack, leaving them a bit dazed.
But that was all he needed as his left arm crackled with lightning as he shot it into the water, immediately causing it to spred and electrocute every single one of the goblins as he grit his teeth as he put more power into the magic even though his arm felt like it has molten inside it.
"Haaaa!" Armaros roared as he made lightning in his right hand and shot it as well.
All the goblins cried out in pain when all the electricity course through them as they were fried from the inside out as he put more force to ensure that they all died immediately as he stopped moments before he landed on the ground as he groaned and kissed as he stood up and looked at the goblins.
All the goblins were standing with their bodies smoking as they all fell to the ground limp as he felt some relief. He wasn't sure if they are truly dead, but he is at least sure that they have been incapacitated for the time being.
But his relief went away when the Hobgoblins came out of the three tents in the camp as his eyes widened in shock.
Hobgoblins were much larger versions of goblins, being more like orcs, and sort of a middle ground into becoming High Goblins. Hobgoblins were bulky and tall and have large builds and were quite strong, and since there were three, it oftentimes warranted a C rank Adventurer to take all of them down alone due to its strength and endurance.
'Of course there are hobgoblins.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the ground and found that almost all water had disappeared from his attack.
The Hobgoblins roared as it saw its brethren on the ground as they raised their meaty arms with large wooden clubs in their hands as Armaros narrowed his eyes.
The Hobgoblins roared as they charged towards him, while also crushing the bodies of any goblins that were in their paths. They were barbaric and didn't have the necessary intelligence to come up with plans, and it was fine with him.
He created flames in his hand and shot a stream at the Hobgoblins causing them to cry out and block it using their clubs, which caught on fire which caused them to flail them about to put off the flames, which only served to propagate it as Armaros capitalised on it as he increased his physical abilities using magic and dashed towards them.
He reached the nearest goblin and using the flames and club as a cover moved to its right and slashed its head clean off, though he felt some resistance as he clicked his tongue as blood gushed out of its wound as he jumped back.
He jumped and cut the tendons behind the knees of the last two Hobgoblins causing them to fall behind as their clubs fell out of their hands. Armaros immediately stabbed the one on his right straight through its forehead and pulled his sword out.
Then he dodged an attack from the last Hobgoblin as he craned his head back as it's arm passed in front of his head as he swiftly chopped it off before doing a wide arc and decapitated it as he panted from the quick use of Mana.
He took some breaths to stabilize himself before he decapitated the 2nd Hobgoblin to make sure that it was truly dead. After that, he went and severed the heads of all the other Goblins, after which he took the ears of every single goblin and Hobgoblin and packed it in a bag as he rummaged through the tent, though he didn't find anything of value so he left the camp with the bag filled with the ears.
'It was good that I was able to take care of all the Goblins immediately and that they are all dumb, otherwise it would've been a dangerous fight for me.' Armaros thought to himself as he sighed to himself as he remembered the pain he felt when he used Mana.
"I hate using Mana." Armaros said as he grumbled about his problems with the energy.
Mana causes him to feel pain, but it is also essential for him to be able to fight and defeat opponents more quickly and without too much of danger. He couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of it all.
He was the child of one of the families blessed by the Gods and yet he has problems with using magic and is physically and magically inferior to all of them. Even though he had been reincarnated, other than a good face and slightly better body, he didn't have much of an advantage in his next life, in fact, it kind of mirrored his previous life.
'Guess this is how I will be in both my lives.' Armaros thought to himself as he walked through the forest back to the village.
