I waited outside Connors for what felt like forever. He had answered my call when I told him I was outside but even I could hear he didn't sound normal. Maybe he wasn't happy with the fact I said I would pick him up or that we would be arriving at the airport together.
Either way I really didn't care. Other captains arrived all the time together. It was a norm and I believed the team would be motivated seeing us together after the last match was such a disaster and I was absent for the other. When there was unity the moral for the game was always boosted.
Connor was too paranoid. Everyone knew how much he didn't approve of same sex anything therefore the chances of us getting together with them was extremely slim. It wouldn't cross anyones mind no matter how hard they tried to think about it.
