That could mean two things. Either that wasn't the only lake like that, or the conditions underground were somehow changed, so the evaporation was faster. It could be both temperature and pressure. The evaporation could be faster if the temperature was higher or if the pressure was lower.
"Alexander, did you find any more lakes like this one?" Michelle asked as she pushed her spirit energy deeper into the lake, sensing for any abnormalities.
"No!" Alexander shook his head, his voice still playful. "Just this one."
