Chapter 1
Today is the day I sell my virginity.
I sit on the ice-cold iron chair, gnawing on my lips nervously, my eyes darting up to the wall clock, ticking slowly. I swallow hard, taking a quick glance at my wristwatch. I had just two hours left until I get to the hospital.
I can make it in time.
"…There…" A muffled voice reached me in the depth of my thoughts, and when I looked up, I see the tall, slender woman glaring at me, the book in her hands paused.
"Are you deaf? Get up!" She snarled viciously, and I jumped up, my palms sweaty.
You might be asking what I am doing here, in a place where your deepest and darkest desires come to life. Well, this is what happened when my life is riddled with problems you cannot solve anymore.
What finally broke the camel's back was the doctor who has been treating my sister stepped out of that stark white room, shaking his head. My heart sunk lower than possible the second the words left his lips. "I'm sorry, Ava, but I'm afraid your sister needs urgent brain surgery. We can no longer manage her, and unfortunately, her chances are slim with each passing second. We need 500,000 for the surgery."
My blood ran cold, and I heard nothing but the loud screeching noise I wasn't sure was coming from me or someone else. My sister is the only person I had left. After our parents' unfortunate death and our pack casting us away. We've only had each other ever since moving to the human world and now…
I couldn't afford even five dollars for bread, and I'm supposed to come up with 500,000? Unless I was giving up my soul, I had no way. Not until I heard of it though.
The Auction
Now, I find myself in this room, in this house that seemed to be closed off from the entire world. It was though. It was meant for only wolves, not human allowed, and so it was a very discreet event. It will only be filled with wolves who wanted to spend or should I say waste their money.
I heard I could get 200,000 just from this. As unbelievable as it sounded, I'm willing to try anything at this point.
"You there! You're next. Come here and strip." The woman's cold voice jolted me out of my thoughts.
I swallowed hard, rubbing my sweaty palms against my jeans and slowly made my way towards the woman.
"Faster!" She snarled, her eyes flashing deep red. I rushed closer to her, my heart pounding harder in my chest.
I squeezed my eyes closed as I soon felt a different pair of hands gripping my body, each of my clothing torn away from me until I was left in nothing.
They turn me around like I'm a mannequin, inspecting every inch. One of them hums in approval, and it sends a cold chill crawling down my spine.
The woman gives a sharp nod, and another figure steps forward, their grip firm but not unkind. I'm led through a narrow hallway, the cold air prickling against my skin, until we reach a set of double doors.
They swing open, revealing an open ground bathed in golden light.
My breath catches. Their scent hitting me the second I breathe. All alphas. Not even a single beta.
There must be hundreds of them.
Men. Women. All wolves. All dressed in rich expensive golds and diamonds. Their movements are graceful yet predatory. They lounge on plush seating with drinks in hand, laughter low, conversations muted by my pulse pounding in my ears.
Every pair of eyes turns toward me.
I've never felt so small, so naked.
Some of them tilt their heads, curious. Others smirk, eyes crawling over me.
The man who had led me to the stage pulls me closer so they could see me even better. "Present your cunt and let me have a look." He hissed out.
Shame curled deep in my gut. I swallowed nervously, dropping to my knees and arched like I had practiced. I heard a collective hum of appreciation from the crowd almost instantly.
"Omega 7, 2nd of the lot tonight."
The announcement rang in my ears, my heart threatening to plunge out of my ribs and onto the floor. Oh, God. It is happening. I'm really doing this. There is no going back.
"Omega, 21 years of age and…" He paused for an added flair, "a fresh stock in the house. Untouched and untainted."
I winced when I hear the whistles and hoots from the back rows. A sharp inhale here in the front as some alphas, women and men alike, leaned forward in curiosity.
I keep my eyes downwards as the man kept talking, saying things to boost my selling points. It was almost like I was nothing more than a thing. Something for these wealthy men to play.
"Wide hips, narrow waist, full and perky breasts, unmarked neck. Fertile and breedable to the brim."
From my peripheral vision, I noticed a few alphas shuffling from the back rows to the front to get a better look. I felt their gazes all over my skin, crawling over every inch of his body. It made me prickly, never one to have my modesty violated so openly. Heck, I knew I would have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror on some days.
"In addition to a heat cycle, the omega sells her virginity to any willing Alpha who wants to be her first."
This had the crowd erupting into an uproar, loud and dizzying, covering the entirety of the audience.
"Spread her cunt apart. Let us have a taste." Someone yelled from the crowd.
I swallowed thickly, my heart pounding even harder in my chest as the reality of this dawned on me. There was no going back.
"Ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for your enthusiasm." The man paused, a smile on his face one could tell wasn't genuine. "We begin the bidding at fifty thousand."
Several hands were raised for the bid, too many to count. Almost the entirety of the audience if I dared to admit. I knew by the narrowed eyes of the man and the smile he wore that he was pleased by the outcome.
"Two hundred!" An alpha said with his hand raised.
Almost immediately, a paddle lifts.
"Two fifty," a sleek woman with silver eyes calls, licking her lips.
"Four hundred," another growls from the side, a towering alpha male with a scar down his jaw. His gaze never leaves me.
"Four-fifty," someone from the far end.
The numbers climb fast.
"Five hundred."
"Five-fifty."
My head was spinning. The amount was nothing I've ever dreamed of and all of that for my virginity? It was preposterous.
"One million."
The room grew silent instantly, and my breath hitched at the sound. Did I hear that right? I looked up instantly, and my eyes widened at the sight of the man who'd made the bidding.
Even in the ranks of the most influential and wealthy Alphas, the man stood out. His voice was deep, deeper than any voice I have ever heard, and it slid along my skin like honey. Everything about him was sharp. His tailored black suit, his stillness, the power thrumming around him. His hair was dark, swept back neatly, and though the lighting dimmed most features, I could feel his eyes on me.
The man kept his gaze locked on me, intense and hot. When I tried to peer into his eyes, I'm met with an impenetrable wall. Cold as ice.
My body reacted faster than my mind did. I dug my fingers into myself, trying and failing to bite back the shiver that wrecked me.
"Is that Alpha Hunter?" There were whispers. "He never attends auctions. Why now?"
I blinked, stunned to my core. When I glanced at the supervisor, it was to see him frozen in place, eyes wide and mallet held in a white-knuckled grip.
"I said one million." The alpha repeated, eyes sharper than ever settled on the man, a clear frightening indication of his impatience.
The supervisor cleared his throat, seemingly shocked. "The bid is at one million. Who wants to offer more?" He said, his gaze sweeping across the crowd.
"One million and five hundred dollars." A woman countered, her eyes were sharp, entirely directed at the alpha from behind, red lips shimmering bright.
"Two million."
The offers were coming in so fast I couldn't keep count.
"Two million, five hundred." Another Alpha yelled.
Despite it all, I couldn't help the disappointment from not hearing the alpha's voice from earlier. It was just his voice and yet it had me shivering. Well, that was it.
"Five million."
In an instant, the whole area fell deathly silent.
My knees buckled, and I staggered in my spot, barely managing to keep myself upright. My eyes snapped up to find the alpha from earlier staring at me.
The alpha clenched his jaw and leaned forward, his eyes flashing a deep crimson. "Five million dollars. I'm not backing down until she's mine." He said in a voice that could cease hell. His eyes screamed bloody murder, and every alpha in the room seemed to obey.
"Five million dollars, going once!" The supervisor cheered. The mallet hit the wood board once more.
It was happening. I'm being sold. Everything that brought me here suddenly flashed in my head. I needed to breathe.
"Five million dollars, going twice!" With an erratic heartbeat, I look at the crowd that had now come to obey the dark-haired alpha.
"Five million dollars, going thrice!" The supervisor dragged on unnecessarily.
"Omega 7 sold to Alpha Hunter for five million dollars!"
