Chapter 146 - Bakusquad Easter Part 1

Part 1: The Great Aldera Easter Extravaganza

The remnants of winter clung to the Aldera College campus, a chill wind occasionally whistling through the blossoming cherry trees. But inside the dorms, a different kind of spring was brewing. Specifically, a chaotic, glitter-filled, and utterly enthusiastic spring, spearheaded by the Bakusquad.

"Alright, listen up, you extras!" Bakugo roared, the sound echoing down the corridor. He stood with his arms crossed, a surprisingly decorative Easter basket dangling precariously from one hand. It was filled with foil-wrapped chocolate eggs, mostly crushed. "Operation: Dorm Domination is a go!"

Kirishima, ever the voice of reason (or at least, the closest thing the Bakusquad had to one), clapped his hands together. "Okay, Bakugo, tone it down a notch! But yeah, let's get this Easter decorating thing started! It's gonna be so manly!"

Mina Ashido, her skin practically glowing with excitement, bounced on the balls of her feet. "I'm so hyped! It feels like ages since we just got to be… us, you know? No hero training, no villains, just… decorating!"

Jiro poked playfully at Mina's arm. "Speak for yourself. I'm hoping this decorating will drown out the sound of Bakugo's explosions for at least an hour."

Sero, ever the pragmatist, chimed in. "Alright, alright, let's get organized. Did everyone get the supplies we talked about at the mall?"

Kaminari, who was juggling a handful of pastel-colored plastic eggs, nearly dropped them all. "Uh… mostly? I might've gotten distracted by the clearance section of the candy aisle."

A collective groan rippled through the group.

The Bakusquad, now in their second year at Aldera College, had decided, quite spontaneously, that they needed an Easter tradition. U.A. had been so intense, so focused on hero training, that simple pleasures like decorating for holidays had fallen by the wayside. Now, with a little more breathing room, they were determined to recapture some of that lost lightheartedness.

The shopping trip had been a whirlwind of glitter, pastel paint, and questionable decisions involving inflatable bunnies. They'd laughed, argued (mostly Bakugo), and shared stories about their classes, their professors, and the surprisingly mundane challenges of college life. It was a reminder of the bond they shared, forged in the crucible of U.A., and solidified by the shared experience of navigating adulthood, even if that adulthood involved copious amounts of Easter-themed décor.

"Okay, themes!" Mina announced, clapping her hands. "Let's hear what everyone's going for!"

Mina was first. "Obviously, I'm going full-on 'Acid Queen's Easter Paradise!' Think bright colors, gooey slime eggs, and maybe even a little acid-resistant bunny! I'm even thinking of making a slime-filled piñata!"

Jiro rolled her eyes, but a small smile played on her lips. "Predictable. I'm going for a 'Punk Rock Spring' vibe. Think dark egg dye, safety-pin decorations, and maybe a mini-concert featuring some aggressively cheerful spring-themed lyrics. My speakers will be covered in eggshells."

Kaminari, still frantically picking up plastic eggs, grinned sheepishly. "I'm doing 'Electric Easter!' I'm thinking a lot of LED lights, maybe a Tesla coil powered egg incubator, and definitely a shocking amount of bunny puns."

Sero, ever the practical one, shrugged. "I'm going for something simple and effective – 'Tape-tastic Easter.' I'm thinking Easter eggs wrapped entirely in decorative tape, maybe a tapestry of tape bunnies, and definitely a tape-secured candy dispenser."

Kirishima pumped his fist. "I'm going for 'Manly Easter!' Think rock-themed eggs, a strong, sturdy egg-dyeing station, and maybe even a miniature obstacle course for the Easter bunny to prove his worthiness!"

All eyes turned to Bakugo, who scowled under the pressure. "I'm doing 'Explosive Easter,' obviously. Egg-shaped stress balls that explode glitter when you squeeze them and strategically placed confetti cannons. Though I might rethink the confetti cannons..."

Kirishima threw an arm around Bakugo's shoulder. "Sounds… explosive, Bakugo! Just don't blow up the dorm, okay?"

"Tch. No promises," Bakugo grumbled, but a hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

And so, with themes declared and supplies at the ready, the Bakusquad dispersed, each heading to their respective dorm rooms to unleash their unique brand of Easter chaos upon the unsuspecting halls of Aldera College. The air crackled with anticipation, a mixture of excitement and mild trepidation, as the first notes of Jiro's punk rock Easter carol began to reverberate through the building.
