It was only a simple sentence, but you could feel the threat within.
Hazel looked Greyson dead in the eyes, challenging him to do it, and she would give him a spectacular show that he would never forget with the high possibility of crippling his reputation.
That was what she promised him in her silent gaze.
"What has gotten into your head?" Greyson asked, but his voice was less hostile than Hazel predicted. There was this unreadable emotion on his face. "You changed so much. I don't recognize you anymore… I don't know who you are."
"Who are you kidding?" Hazel tilted her head. "You never knew your daughter from the beginning, and this is too late to understand her."
In a way, Hazel was right. There was no more chance for Greyson to understand the real Hazel because she was already dead.
