Chapter 430 - Chapter 429: Topaz’s Arrival

That answer was all March 7th needed.

She turned to Pei Guang, her eyes blinking rapidly, filled with a silent but clear message. She didn't even need to say anything—her expression said it all.

Pei Guang looked at March 7th. "We're sharing a room. Won't it be a bit cramped?"

March 7th chuckled. "We've never tried squeezing onto one bed before, right? Since there's only one room left today, why not give it a shot~?"

Pei Guang: "Sure, but if we're sharing a bed~"

A smile appeared on his face. If Stelle were here, she probably wouldn't have noticed anything unusual about it—just Pei Guang's usual cheerful expression. But in March 7th's eyes, that smile was loaded with hidden meaning.

"Ah?"

March 7th's eyes widened. She wanted to say something, but the words caught in her throat.

She chickened out.

A moment ago, she was bold. But that was just a spur-of-the-moment impulse.

Now, seeing Pei Guang's smile, her mind filled with scenes straight out of the romance novels she secretly read under the covers—those steamy moments where the male lead, smiling just like this, lures the female lead into a shared room, and then… and then…!

Even just thinking about it made her face heat up instantly.

But she had already said it. Taking it back now wouldn't be a big deal, but something inside her refused to back down.

Just as she was struggling with her thoughts, the door to the hotel swung open.

Stelle walked in, calling out, "Ah Guang? March? You're both here. So, did you book the room yet?"

Pei Guang: "Not yet. There's only one left. I was thinking we'd go back to the Express, but March suggested the three of us share it. And you know what? The more I think about it, the more fun it sounds. If we get bored at night, we could even play some cards."

March 7th: "?"

All of her nervous anticipation… wasted.

A second ago, she had been flustered, heart racing at the thought of what sharing a room might mean. Now? She was hit with a wave of disappointment, frustration, and a weird sense of defeat.

Meanwhile, Stelle's eyes lit up the moment she heard they'd be staying together. "All three of us? Perfect! Let's do it~"

For Stelle, sleeping wasn't the main event.

Her real plan? Dragging Pei Guang and March 7th into a closet with her—to fight off the demon that haunted this hotel!

Last time, she had hidden in a closet alone and nearly got devoured by that thing. But this time, with all three of them together, she wouldn't have to be scared anymore.

Clearly, she had completely forgotten everything Dan Heng had told her. In Stelle's mind, the strongest memory of Goethe Hotel was hiding in the closet.

Anything else? Completely forgotten~~

Watching Stelle's excitement, March 7th felt whatever little anticipation she had completely evaporate.

But she quickly adjusted her mood. "Great~ If we're staying together, we can have a pillow fight!"

Pei Guang: "A pillow fight!!!!"

Stelle: "Ah Guang, let's team up and take down March 7th!"

March 7th: "Ah Guang, let's team up and take down Stelle!"

Both of them spoke almost at the same time. Then, realizing what had just happened, they locked eyes.

A second later, they both grinned and clapped hands—forming an unspoken alliance.

"Let's team up and take down Ah Guang together!" Stelle and March 7th looked at each other excitedly.

While Pei Guang and the others were busy planning what to do for the night, Topaz, having completed her preparations, was already en route to Belobog without wasting any time.

However, as soon as her ship arrived at the orbit of the Jarilo-VI system, she immediately sensed something was off.

"Why does this planet have such a pure concentration of the Path of Preservation's power?"

Frowning, Topaz examined the data coming in from her equipment.

After receiving Asta's warning, she had set off straight for the Jarilo-VI system, planning to visit Belobog and assess Pei Guang—the person Asta seemed to hold in such high regard.

Of course, since Asta had specifically asked her to help organize an event for him, she was taking it seriously. On her way here, she had already reached out to one of the most renowned game companies in the universe.

Based on her analysis, if she introduced Aetherium Wars to this world, it would undoubtedly take the entire planet by storm. From there, she could use the game as the foundation to set up some simple events—completely feasible.

At first, the request was simple, just to bring some Aetherium Wars gaming equipment to Belobog. But the response she got had stunned her.

"We've received sponsorship funding. The next Interstellar Championship Celebration has been officially scheduled to take place in the location you mentioned—Belobog. The sponsor is..."

The moment she saw the sponsor's name, Topaz's thoughts started racing.

The sponsor was a notorious Masked Fool!

Normally, Masked Fools operated in secrecy. But this one was different—openly active, widely known across the entire universe. And yet, this person specifically designated Belobog? Wasn't this a blatant sign that something was off about this planet?

Asta's warning, the sponsor's insistence, and now the unusually pure yet weak power of Preservation emanating from the planet—all within a single day, she had already encountered three anomalies surrounding this place.

"Interesting... very interesting!"

Her curiosity was fully piqued.

Analyzing the available intel, she was convinced that all of these unusual events must be related to the name Asta had mentioned—Pei Guang.

"Pei Guang... are you behind all of this? I'm quite curious—when you learn about Belobog's debts and what I'm here to do, what will you do?"

Topaz wasn't here to cause trouble. Asta's warning ensured she wouldn't use the company's usual strong-arm tactics to pressure this planet. But that didn't mean she wouldn't test Pei Guang.

She was truly intrigued—would this man, whom Asta valued so much, step in to resolve the massive debt Belobog owed? And if he did, how would he handle it?

Would he ask Asta for help?

If he did... Well, in Topaz's eyes, that would be disappointing.

Regardless, she still needed to go through the official procedures. After all, she had taken the assignment. If she simply dropped the case, there was no guarantee that whoever took over next wouldn't be some idiot who blindly followed company protocols—that would definitely cause a disaster.

As for herself? She wasn't here to interfere too much, but she still had to follow the proper procedures. If she went through the motions, at worst, she'd just take a small pay cut. But if she didn't go through with it and left behind any loose ends, it would be her who got in trouble.

Yet, for some reason, the moment she thought about officially carrying out her assignment and testing Pei Guang, she suddenly had a very bad feeling.

"Maybe... I should just go through the procedure and forget the test?"
