"Hehe~...Mama! Mama~, Look! Look~... The sea! Woah!" A small child of around three years of age shouted while looking behind him with a hug smile on his face. he shook his hands up and down in a wide range of motion as he tried to get the attention of his mother.
The chile had completely black hair that shined in the sun and his blue eyes sparkled with stars as he shouted. there was, What looked to be, the sea behind the child and small waves were constantly thrashing around in that sea.
"Toru! Wait for Mama at least! Don't go in the water!" A hand stretched out from somewhere and a female voice resounded. The hand was covered in black smock and it couldn't be said if the hand was of a human or not much less if it was female or not. but the voice was that of a loving mother's, that much was certain.
"Mama~ Hurry! Look! The sea, it's so big~ Hehe~" The child said jumping around the shore as he turned slightly towards the sea.
"Toru, don't go to the sea! it can be dangerous!" Suddenly as if the voice had realised something, it started panicking and the hand tried to strech further towards the boy and get a hold of him.
"Uwaaa!!! The water is soo cold!!" The child had completely turned towards the sea now and had his back towards the outstretched hand still covered in black smock.
"Toru...Please, listen..." The mother's voice, for some reason, sounded more and more sad after each word. at the end, she was almost crying.
The child didn't speak, there was only a slight giggle as he walked into the sea and started playing in the water but that didn't even last a second as a huge wave appeared and took to boy to the deeper parts of the sea.
"Woah! Mama! Mama!" The panicked cry of the child could be heard as he struggled to get out of the grip of the wave.
"Nooo! Toru! hic* Toru!" The woman tried to stretch her hand as much as possible in order to reach the child but as if a barrier had seperated both of them in different dimensions, she couldn't reach him.
The figure of a woman covered in black smock fell forward and full blown voice of crying was heard. The woman held her knees together and buried her face while muttering the same name over and over again.
"Toru...Toru! Hic* Toru..." As the woman drowned deeper into sadness, the world around her started to crumble and fall apart. As if an illusion, soon the entire world fell apart and In a room somewhere on the second floor, a woman who was laying on the bed, opened her eyes. A few drops of tears fell from her eyes as she sat up with a pant to her breathing and held her knees together just like the black figure in that strange space.
"Toru..." The small form of a black haired chile came to her mind and More and more tears appeared in her eyes.
She lamented at the memory of an accident that took her everything from her as she dried to drown in the sadness but before she could, she remembered a boy she met just yesterday. a boy with the same black hair and blue eyes as Toru...and a slight smile appeared on her otherwise sad face. Though even after that smile appeared, tears were still flowing down her cheeks...

*Yawn~
I opened the gates of my room and exited while yawning to get rid of sleepiness. Currently, I was in a small house for three people that was arranged for all the new regulars by the test admins. I had to live with two other people in the house but the house was free so who cares? Also, Ration was also free. we had to cock if we wanted food but we at least didn't had to buy it. Though these free things wouldn't be free for a long time as it is only free until the next exam starts.
All this information was told to me by that woman, Amelia since I wasn't paying attention when the Admin official was explaining. Amelia...she was a strange woman to be honest. She acted extremely friendly towards someone she just met...it was honestly suspicious- No...It is still suspicious. I don't know what she wants truly but I will find out soon enough. After all, she was also living in the same house as me.
I was quite surprised that they would allow woman and man to live under the same rufe. Did they not consider the safety of the women? but then again, they are also regulars and can take care of themselves. if they can't then they should give up on climbing the tower as the dangers of the tower are greater then anything.
I sighed to cleared my mind and walked through the hallway and then down the stairs. the house that I resided in had two floors. The first floor where the entrance to the house was, had a living room and a kitchen. the stairs in the living room were leading up to the second floor where, three rooms were made for each regular. The rooms had attached bathrooms so I could get ready before going down but I figured I should go down first as the aroma of breakfast was strong enough to make my stomach churn.
As I walked down to the living space, I saw the wobbly figure of my other housemate. Other then Amelia, I had another housemate. He was a bulky guy with puppy eyes and had a dumb looking face. His hair was brown and eyes black. His eyes were closed right now as he wobbled, Half asleep.
The living room could be divided into two parts. First part was where the sofas were arrenged. there were three sofas, one for three people and the other two for only one person. On the wall in front of the sofa was a TV. it was off right now.
The second part of the living room had a small dining table and four chairs, two on each side of the table. My house mate was sitting on this table as he wobbled around.
I sighed at his state, feeling like the guy was too careless around strangers but that wasn't my problem. I walked towards the dining table intending to sit across my bulky housemate whose name I still didn't know since we never got introduced.
"Amin! Good morning! How was your sleep?" I sat down on the chair as I heard the voice. I turned my head to find Amelia working in the open kitchen. I could only see the upper part of her body right now as she worked in the kitchen.
"It was good." I replied simply. I didn't want to engage in a conversation right now but the woman just didn't get it at all.
"I see! That's good to hear! I...had trouble sleeping last night but overall, I still got a nice sleep!" I nodded at her trying to end the conversation again.
"Ah! By the way, What kind of food do you like, Amin? I'll make the lunch of your liking since the breakfast is already prepared." She said in her usual high pitch voice
"Urg...Anything is fine." I said as I stood up and walked to the sofas. The sofa and TV were a bit further away from the kitchen so I guessed I wouldn't hear her if I went there. It wasn't like she was annoying or anything but, she was just strange.
"Fufu~ Is he in his rebellion faze?" The woman mumbled something I couldn't quite hear but I didn't care as I switched the TV on.
After a while, Amelia called for me again, informing me about breakfast being served.
I switched the TV off and walked to the chair I was sitting on before. As I sat, I noticed that the wobbly man was also a bit more stable now. He gave me a kind smile as he spoke.
"Hello...It seems we are going to be housemates for a while so I think we should at least introduce ourselves, right? I'll go first. I am Dofu. I was a mercenary on the 5th floor before starting my climb. I don't know what else to say but I guess it was good to know you?" The man who looked to be in his mid thirties spoke as if unsure of what to say. It doesn't look like he had to talk a lot on his job as he tried to make sense of his own sentence.
"I m Amin." I nodded at him as he looked at me waiting for me to continue but I didn't speak anything other then my name which seemed to hurt the bulky man a bit.

Author,-
I wanted to put all the introduction of new character into one chapter but it doesn't seem possible (Maybe if I hadn't put that much detail in describing the house then it would have been possible...) so I think it would take another chapter before the second floor test starts.
Alright, stay tuned!
