Well, today's chapter is longer then any other. I will try to keep this length of chapters starting today. The keyword here is 'Try' so don't be disappointed if that doesn't happen.

"Ah~ I am sooo tired~ Why did we had to hunt eight monsters, anyway?" I heard Amelia complaint as she tried to make cute face from behind me.
"We were just checking out limits, you know? since we now know that hunting eight monsters is still out of our reach, we will stick with seven for a while before increasing the number again." I was talking about the amount of monsters we could hunt in a day right here. After the first day, we always managed to hunt at least more then four monsters daily. currently we were able to hunt around seven monsters every day and compared to the starting when we could only hunt four, this was a massive boost.
Today was the first time we had decided to hunt eight monsters and I have to say, that wasn't the best decision ever. just with seven or six monsters, we were already quite beat up and increasing it by one more really made me want to curse myself for making the decision.
As a result of my greed, I was extremely tired now. my body was that of a fifteen to sixteen years old so Of course I would get tired easily. But then again, it's not like the task we were doing was easy. we had to roam around for at least eight kilometres daily just to find the seven monsters and then also had to fight these monsters. To be honest, killing the Bull monster is quite easy but we still had to give our best in the fight since the bull would only need one perfect strick to really kill us.
Now that I think about it, It is quite fortunate, that none of us actually got any serious injuries while we had been hunting monsters in the last couple of days. A few minor wounds was a given but at least there wasn't anything serious that we had to deal with.
"Ahhh~ My legs feel so heavy...Amin, I can't walk~ Please give me a piggy back ride~" I heard Amelia's teasing voice again. Though she did look quite tired, her face still had a mischievous smile that I was getting tired of seeing. She was doing what she was doing to tease me, more or less. On one of these following days, she just randomly started trying to make me embarrassed.
And I don't even know why she was doing it. She wasn't like this before, She was annoying but the teasing that she starts doing randomly now wasn't something she used to do. it might be because we have gotten a lot closer to each other now then a few days ago and I like to think that she had just opened up to us. Maybe, her actually personality is like this...Maybe she just likes to tease people...
But then why does she not tease Dofu? or anyone else for that matter? She is like this only to me. Which doesn't really make sense... unless she maybe likes me?...no, I don't think so...I don't know much about girls but I do think that Amelia isn't really interested in me...as a lover or something like a lover at least...I think.
"Hmmm~? Is piggy back ride No good? Then, can. You. Give. Me. A. Princess-carry? At least until we reach home?" She said slowly as she put a finger to her lips. Now I felt like she might be seducing me. For god's sake, she is gorgeous.
I think I am gonna take my words back, maybe, she is actually interested in me.
"Urg...I am also tired you know? so why don't you give me a carry instead?" I said in annoyance only to find that Amelia had started laughing at my words instead. Her laugh attracted attention from nearby people but they ignored her soon after.
Her laugh made me realise what I had just spoken. I cursed myself inwardly for again being distracted. I was also distracted while we were fighting one of the Bulls today but this time, I had spoken something that most definitely gonna be used against me.
"What's wrong? What is it that made you laugh like that?" I asked trying to make the situation a bit less funny. I was looking quite serious while asking that but that made her laugh harder. Soon she did calm down, however, though she would still giggle from time to time.
"Fufufu... Well, you did tell a joke just now so of course I would laugh." She spoke but stopped after seeing my serious expression.
"Were you not joking?" she exclaimed seeing my serious face. She realised that I didn't know what I had spoken wrong and bursted into another feet of laughter.
Maybe it was also a bad idea to feign ignorance? But I was also getting annoyed now. My tiredness was already taking a toll on me and now this...
It didn't take long for Amelia to get back to her senses, however. After calming down, she said...
"Sorry, I didn't know you were serious about being carried like a princess. If you still want to, I can carry you like that." Amelia said with a controlled chuckle. Her teasing voice was strong in this one.
I sighed. realising that the inevitable would happen no matter what. I can't stop her from teasing me to death now. I was preparing myself for suiside when suddenly a saviour appeared.
You know? I heard it somewhere...if I can't stop her, then he can.
"Here!" A hand appeared in front of me holding a popsicle. I looked at the person who gave it to me.
"Thanks, Dofu." I thanked Dofu who handed another popsicle to Amelia.
I swear to god I would do anything to repay this man...
"Hmm..." Dofu replied with a nod and started...eating the ice cream. I turned my face away as I saw Dofu licking his ice cream instead of biting it.
'Gay.' Nah, he wasn't my saviour now...
"By the way, You had wanted another sheild for a while now, right? Do you wanna get it after we rest for a bit?" I asked while holding the stick of the ice cream. I was preparing myself to freeze my jaws because after seeing Dofu's way of eating, I was going to bite into the icy ice cream instead. There was no way I was gonna lick...
"hm..." Dofu kept... eating. as he nodded with a hum.
"Alright then. Amelia you sho–" I couldn't finish my words because something caught my attention.
Amelia was also licking the ice cream...Ah! Not this. something else cough my attention.
"Oh? A giant alligator!" Amelia pointed at a huge figure that was standing in the middle of a crowd.
"Out of my way you damn turtles!" The Alligator shouted at the people around him who were observing him with interest and the crowd dispersed.
Amelia hurriedly stopped pointing at the alligator after seeing it's agressive nature, afraid it would offend the other party. The huge alligator started walking towards us after the crowd dispersed and soon walked passed us while muttering–
"Now where is this damn house of mine? urg...It's too much thinking finding the house, A hunter should live in the wild instead!" He said and walked past us.
Amelia kept looking at him. "It is quite rare to see someone other then a human. And he also said some interesting things didn't he? hehe.."
I looked at the retreating figure of Rak and thought, 'It seems the Cannon is about to start. Rak is more or less a simple minded... well, Alligator. So I don't think he will try to find what the next test would be about and just head straight to the test. If I remember correctly, Rak doesn't have any reason to delay taking the second floor test as well, meaning the next floor test would be the one in which Rak would participate.'
If my theory is correct then the next floor test that would happen would be the start of Baam's adventure. As I know Rak wouldn't fail the test so Baam and the others would be in the next test as well.
"I'll be going ahead." I said as I started walking faster towards the house.
"Ah! wait for us!" Amelia shouted and picked up her pace as well followed by Dofu.
If Baam and the others do participate in the next floor test then that would mean that the next floor test would be much more difficult and dangerous to take then any other before. Which also makes me feel like I should avoid taking the next test and instead, should keep on doing what I was doing, Monster hunting. I would be able to increase my strength quite a bit through that and once I become quite certain that there wouldn't be too many people that would give me trouble in the tests then I could safely take the tests and start climbing for real.
But am I going to avoid the next test? Nah. Just because there would be an increase in difficulty doesn't mean I shouldn't participate. And it's not like I would be defeated that easily in the first place. through the past few days of hunting monsters, I did gain quite an amount of Gold. not to mention my level is also higher now. Not by much but it is.
Though...I am quite worried about the two coming behind me. I know that they are quite strong... and skilled. so even without me, and my help through the 'Ability' of mine, they should still be able to pass the test. but I don't really know the future. I would have taken the gamble if it was just me but I can't really put their life on the line right?
I quickly shook my head as that thought surfaced. it wasn't really my call to make after all. The two people behind me are older then me. I never asked their age but I know that they would at least be older then 22, That was my age before I died in my old world. They are older then me and even though they go along with whatever I say, They still would know what is best for them. It wasn't my decision to make if they wanted to start climbing or not.
I decided to ask them of their thoughts on this tomorrow. I walked inside the house that we had rented and headed straight to bed. As soon as my face touched the pillow, I drifted into the dreamlands.

A few hours later, I opened my eyes still laying on the bed. I kept staring at the ceiling for a while after waking up but after the drowsiness died down, I spoke up.

I smiled in satisfaction looking at the amount of Gold I currently have. I only had 220 gold before but through all the grinding and monster hunting, I got a whopping 2548 more gold. All this gold was accumulated in the matter of sixteen days! And even though 2548 gold might sound good, it was still short of what I actually wanted.
Call me greedy, but I actually wanted to have around 3000 gold and a bit more then that but I don't think I would have the time now. The next floor test would be on the day after tomorrow so there wasn't really time to gain more gold.
But, do I really need an upgrade in my strength? I never even had to use all my skills since coming to this world...heck, I only used one skill and my passive this whole time. What do I even upgrade anyway? what am I lacking in right now? I couldn't answer that. I need to find an opponent that matches me in strength to be able to know what am I lacking in and that wouldn't happen on this floor...well, maybe I'll find my match at the testing ground, maybe...
So, I still don't know what to upgrade. every stat is almost equally important in some way but I think leaving my upgrade to another time is the best. If I do find an opponent who can match me then I would increase the state that would help me the most in defeating them, right then and there.

I tried making the chapter a bit more funny. It took a bit effort and I still don't even know if the chapter is funny or not but I guess if it is not funny then I can't really help that. I am still a new author and yeah I am gonna make that excuse.
