Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Hagrid's battered motorbike roared defiantly against the storm as it hurtled towards the isolated island.

He gripped the handlebars tightly, his mind wandering back to the countless times he had soared through the skies on this very bike for the very first time.

His thoughts were heavy with memories that tugged at his heart.

He remembered Sirius Black, to whom the bike first belonged.

He remembered his viage of a broken man, as he walked out of that house with an infant harry in tow.

He especially remembered his eyes that burned in fury.

It pained him still to think that it was that Sirius, who had betrayed Lily and James Potter.

And then there was Harry— he remembered the sole potter, how he had cradled the small boy on that fateful cold night, when all the wizarding world was celebrating.

He journeyed across vast distances to Surrey, navigating through the dark and stormy night, clutching the bundle that was baby Harry Potter. The motorbike roared through the sky, Hagrid's grip firm and protective as he carried the future hope of the wizarding world.

Arriving at Privet Drive, he carefully handed the sleeping child to Dumbledore, who awaited them with a grave expression. McGonagall stood beside him, her usually stern demeanor softened by tears of both sorrow and hope as she gazed upon the orphaned boy who would come to define an era.

Hagrid's memories of that night were etched with a mix of tenderness and solemn duty. He knew then, as he knew now, that the fate of the wizarding world rested in part on the shoulders of the innocent child he had delivered into Dumbledore's arms.

Hagrid witnessed Dumbledore and the stern witch, McGonagall, cooing over Harry, their expressions a mix of tenderness and concern. They discussed what they were gonna do, or what dumbledore had decided to do.

Dumbledore's decision—to leave Harry with his muggle relatives, the Dursleys.

Hagrid remembered the flash of temper McGonagall had shown that day. He couldn't quite understand why she was so against Harry staying there. After all, wasn't family supposed to take care of you best?

And was it not dumbledore who was saying harry would be safe here, "and if it dumbledore saying it that he would be safe for sure."

The cottage on the rocky outcrop loomed ahead through the torrential rain. Hagrid landed with a thud and approached the door, the wind howling around him.

He knocked, and knocked but silence greeted him.

Just as he began to worry, screams erupted from inside. Without hesitation, he kicked the door down with a force that belied his gentle nature, crashing it to the ground.

Entering in he looked around to see if there was anyone dangerous, finding none, squeezed his way into the hut, stooping so that his head just brushed the ceiling. He bent down, picked up the door, and fitted it easily back into its frame. The noise of the storm outside dropped a little. He turned to look at them all. "Couldn't make us a cup o' tea, could yeh? It's not been an easy journey. . . ."

Shooing dudley away, hagrid seteled into the sofa.

Then he looked at the boy, the boy with the green eyes. Just like his mother, if not a bit more green and splashs of red "An' here's Harry!"

He noticed how he looked him staraight into his eyes, and though he looked like he was scared he couldn't find a ounce of it in his eyes

A griffindoor for sure, he said to himself happliy

"Las' time I saw you, you was only a baby," said the giant. "Yeh look a lot like yer dad, but yeh've got yer mom's eyes."

The prune was still bugging him and it was getting on his nerves so he snached the long pole he had and bend it into a knot, he loved the look of fear that came on to the man, no he ought to shut up.

"Anyway — Harry, a very happy birthday to yeh. Got summat fer yeh here — I mighta sat on it at some point, but it'll taste all right." From an inside pocket of his black overcoat he pulled a slightly squashed box.

Harry the boy took the cake but looked causely at him

 "Who are you?"

 Chuckling haagrid introduced himself,

"True, I haven't introduced meself. Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts."

But you can Call me Hagrid,"

Harrid said with a wide grin, not knowing that this might be his last smile for the day.

As soon he found out that harry knew nothing about the wizarding world, nothing.

Matter of fact he didn't even know about his parents.

It took a lot from him to not just up and smash and twist the horrible people that was supposedly harrys family.

"Harry yer mum an' dad were as good a witch an' wizard as I ever knew. Head boy an' girl at Hogwarts in their day! Suppose the myst'ry is why You-Know-Who never tried to get 'em on his side before. . . probably knew they were too close ter Dumbledore ter want anythin' ter do with the Dark Side.

"Maybe he thought he could persuade 'em . . . maybe he just

wanted 'em outta the way. All anyone knows is, he turned up in the

village where you was all living, on Halloween ten years ago. You an' — an' — " then with a lot of crying and stamering hagrid told the most famous story of the wizarding world.

About its hero, and the villan.

"Took yeh from the ruined house myself, on Dumbledore's orders. Brought yeh ter this lot . ."

After informing harry about his heritage hagrid looked towards the dursleys with stealy eyes

"and I hope ye don't have any propblem with harry going to hoggwards"

The dursleys that were looking at hagrid in horror and distain, now looked at his like he was there savior.

"yes, please take this de… I mean our nephew away" the dursleys gave hagrid the biggest of smiles.

Hagrid was taken a back, as he was for sure accepting that the Dursleys will not want harry to go to Hogwarts.

Hagrid though didn't really care as there opinion didn't ever matter.

Looking back at harry, Hagrid said.

"It's gettin' late and we've got lots ter do tomorrow," said Hagrid

loudly. "Gotta get up ter town, get all yer books an' that."

He took off his thick black coat and threw it to Harry.

"You can kip under that," he said. "Don' mind if it wriggles a

bit, I think I still got a couple o' dormice in one o' the pockets."

Now his back turned towards Hagrid harry closed his eyes to hide the manical gleam that would have overflowed if not,

His face now marring a silent victories grin.
