Aiden stepped into the Baxter Building with Valeria walking beside him, her eyes wide with wonder as she took in the advanced tech, sleek hallways, and the buzz of scientific brilliance radiating from every corner.

"Okay… this place is amazing," Valeria said, spinning slowly in place to take it all in. "I've read about the Baxter Building since I was a kid, but seeing it in person? It's better than I imagined."

Aiden chuckled, hands in his jacket pockets. "Yeah, it's got that effect. Came here a couple times when I was younger with my dad. Mostly when he had business with Reed. Back then I thought the elevators were the coolest part."

Valeria smirked. "You would."

He shrugged. "Still kinda do."

They walked through the polished corridor, guided by one of the building's floating drones until they reached a wide sliding door. As it whooshed open, they stepped into the Fantastic Four's main meeting room.

Reed Richards looked up from a holo-display, smiling. Sue Storm, Johnny, and Ben Grimm stood near the window, all geared up and ready.

"Aiden! Welcome," Reed said, tapping a panel to close the projection. "You made it just in time—we're about to depart for the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Are you ready?"

"Yeah, sure," Aiden said, glancing around. "Where's Peter?"

"Oh, right—he should already be there," Sue replied. "I think most of the heroes have already gathered."

Aiden nodded. "Aight. Let's get moving then."

The team moved swiftly toward the rooftop hangar. As the doors opened, the wind kicked up around them, revealing one of the Fantastic Four's sleek jets primed for takeoff.

Aiden offered Valeria a quick grin as they climbed aboard. "First time flying in one of these?"

She grinned back. "With you? Yeah.... I stole a couple of these from Old Thor when he confiscated them"

The engines roared to life, and in seconds, the jet lifted off into the skies, slicing through the clouds with smooth precision.

Ahead of them, the massive S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier loomed like a floating city in the sky—hovering in place, filled with the best and brightest Earth had to offer.

....

As the jet approached the massive S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, its engines humming steadily, Valeria pressed her face a little closer to the window and lit up with excitement.

"Wow! We're heading to the Avengers' first original meeting place... and the beginning of real unity!"

"First?" Reed raised an eyebrow from the pilot seat, glancing back.

Sue tilted her head curiously. "We've always met there, though. It's kind of tradition."

Valeria blinked. "Oh—right. I guess in your world, the Avengers haven't acquired their own building yet?"

"They get a building?" Sue asked, surprised.

Johnny leaned against the side wall with a smirk. "Wait, wait, wait—you're telling me those guys managed to agree on something long enough to share a building?"

"Yes, Uncle Johnny," Valeria said with a teasing grin. "You were one of them too, just so you know."

Ben turned from the co-pilot's seat with a puzzled grunt. "We joined them?"

"Yup! Well, heroes still did their own thing, but there was this massive central base where everyone came together when world-ending stuff happened. It was kind of a symbol—unity under one roof."

"Sounds like a nightmare," Johnny muttered. "No privacy, lots of rules, and a cafeteria that probably serves kale."

The others laughed, but Aiden sat silently by the window, his sharp gaze fixated on the floating fortress ahead.

Valeria noticed his quiet stare and leaned toward him. "Something wrong, Aiden?"

"Not much," he replied, eyes narrowing slightly. "Just thinking about how many Hydra spies are probably crawling around that thing…"

His tone was casual, but the edge was clear.

"I'm not thrilled about working with S.H.I.E.L.D.," he added. "Never have been."

Reed glanced at him through the rearview mirror and gave a light sigh. "I understand your concern, Aiden. But the current leader of this operation is... different. Stubborn, yes, and blunt. But I believe he's genuine."

Aiden didn't respond at first, his gaze still locked on the looming carrier. The faint hum of the engines filled the silence.

"Guess we'll find out," he said finally, his voice low.

Valeria reached out and gave his hand a quick squeeze. "Hey. Whatever happens... we'll handle it. Together."

The Helicarrier grew larger as they approached—its surface buzzing with life, jets landing and taking off, agents running across decks, and above it all… the tension of what was to come.

....

As the jet touched down on the Helicarrier, the bay doors opened with a hiss. Aiden, Valeria, and the Fantastic Four were promptly met by a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who guided them through the long metallic corridors of the flying fortress. Every step they took echoed with tension, the atmosphere growing heavier the closer they got to the meeting chamber.

This wasn't just any gathering. It was the meeting—perhaps the most important one the world had ever held.

The door to the central command opened.

Aiden's gaze swept across the room, instantly locking onto the most powerful figures the Earth had to offer. Iron Man, Captain America, Bruce Banner, Black Panther, Thor, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel—and even Namor, the King of Atlantis, seated at the edge like an uninvited monarch. Aiden recognized them all. They were the legends of this world.

But his eyes narrowed as he saw a man sitting calmly in a wheelchair… and beside him, Jean Grey.

Aiden exhaled slowly through his nose.

Without a word, he walked past the sea of eyes and stopped before the man at the center of it all—the one-eyed leader of the operation.

"Nick Fury, huh…" Aiden said, staring at the man directly.

The infamous director didn't flinch. "Aiden Black. Dragon Slayer. An expected nickname—from a child."

Aiden smirked. "That's cute. What, you thought I'd lash out? Lose my temper? Spy games don't work on me, especially not when they come from someone who still works with the enemy."

Nick tilted his head, amused. He nodded toward a nearby agent, who immediately pressed a button on the wall. The entire room dimmed as soundproofing protocols kicked in—locking the meeting from any external surveillance.

"I don't work with the enemy," Nick said, his voice low and even. "And I'd like to personally apologize for what happened the other day."

"You mean your suicidal agents?" Aiden replied dryly.

"Suicidal agents? That's a new low even for you, Fury," Tony Stark muttered, arms crossed.

"What's he talking about, Fury?" asked Captain America, his tone sharp.

"Oh, I guess you don't know, Cap," Aiden said, turning to face the room. "For all the good you do, your house is still infected. Hydra still lives inside S.H.I.E.L.D. And I guess I'm just too much of a threat for them to leave breathing. Right, Nick? That why you sent them?"

Nick grinned. "I like him already. No—I didn't send them. And I assume you already knew that. Just returning the jab, huh?"

He turned to the room. "Yes, Hydra still has roots buried inside S.H.I.E.L.D. But it doesn't matter anymore. It's not important."

"Not important? Those Nazis still walk among us!" snapped Steve.

"We ignored them the first time, and look what happened," said T'Challa. "To find your organization still this rotten is... disappointing."

"Why don't you just eliminate them all?" asked Thor, gripping his hammer tightly.

"Killing one only drives the rest into deeper shadows," Natasha said quietly. "We want the leaders, not the pawns."

Carol Danvers folded her arms. "Place is still as shady as ever…"

A new voice broke through the arguments, low and sharp.

"I think we're all forgetting why we're here. Why I'm here." Namor stood. "A world-devourer approaches. Atlantis has no interest in the surface dwellers' squabbles. Galactus is the only thing that matters."

"Good point, fisherman," Aiden said casually as he walked past him.

Namor's brow twitched. "What did you say?"

Aiden ignored him and walked up to Valeria, resting his hand on her shoulder.

"My Valeria here is going to locate the Silver Surfer," he said, voice calm and sure. "And I'll bring him in for interrogation. After that, I've got a plan. Or more like a countermeasure."

"You plan to fight Galactus?" Carol asked skeptically. "I came specifically to advise against that. He's a cosmic-level threat. Fighting him is suicide."

"Even my father advises against it," Thor added. "And Asgard doesn't back down from war lightly."

Aiden's eyes flicked between them. "Your opinions don't matter. We're not killing him—we're stalling him. My plan works with or without your help. If you're too afraid—" he looked at Carol, "—or too weak—" his eyes slid to Thor, "—then stay out of my way."

That got a reaction.

"Kid," Tony stepped forward. "You think you can just walk in here and start barking orders—?"

Reed facepalmed. "Shouldn't have said that…"

Aiden grinned.

Without warning, he raised his hand toward Thor.

Fwshhh—!

A moment later, Mjolnir flew from Thor's side and landed smoothly in Aiden's open palm.

Gasps rippled through the room.

Thor's eyes widened, stunned. So did everyone else's.

Aiden turned the hammer once in his hand, feeling the weight. "A worthy enchantment, huh? That's cute. Looks like your father thinks I'm worthy."

With a lazy flick of his wrist, he tossed Mjolnir back to Thor.

Thor caught it instinctively, still processing.

"I think that proves I'm a bit more than just a kid... don't you think, Tony Stark?"

Tony blinked, then slowly nodded. "Okay. Fair enough."

"But," he added, "how exactly is she going to find the Silver Surfer? We've all tried—me, Reed, Banner—nothing's worked."

Aiden looked at Valeria, pride glowing behind his eyes.

"This is Valeria. She's smarter than all three of you… combined."

And with that, he gave her a gentle nudge forward toward the center of the room.

The real work was about to begin.
